Any sort of swelling is only possible by retaining water to give body to the edema, which would definitely be a source of potential weight gain.

Yes, I have severe edema. I have to take a diuretic daily. And I still retain water even with lowering my sodium to next to nothing.

Thank sneakers he gave that option

Of course you have to close the sidebar with every single page you visit (annoying), but at least it's something.

Marinating it in cider vinegar or lemon juice can also help.

    Here's a P2 recipe:

    Fajitas/ Carne Asada
    Ingredients
100 grams sliced beef or chicken cut into strips or flank steak asada
    Tomatoes
Sliced onion cut into thin strips
    1 clove garlic chopped
    3 tablespoons lemon juice
    2 tablespoons orange juice (optional)
    1/8 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon chili powder or to taste
    Pinch of cayenne pepper
    Directions
Marinate meat in lemon juice and spices. Barbeque for carne asada or cook
strips in a frying pan with garlic and onion. Add chopped tomatoes during
the last 5 minutes of cooking and enjoy with lettuce leaf mock tortillas and
    salsa.
    95
Makes 1 serving (1 protein, vegetable)
Phase 3 modifications: Add multi-colored bell peppers to fajitas. Use a
little butter or oil for cooking. Serve with sour cream, guacamole and
    cheddar cheese if desired.

Caveat: I might just be talking out of my arse here, so heed any echoes you might hear.

    1. Chemically use an acid (lemon juice, vinegar) to break down the bonds of the connective tissues. Since this marinade includes adding things in a diet that is all about subtracting I would avoid it.

    2. Beat the living snot out of it with a meat mallet. Not only cathartic, but you won't be adding anything to it that will make Dr. Simeons want to punch you in the duodenum.

If you are cooking it, then freezing and reheating (a nice way to make hockey pucks), you could freeze it raw and then de-thaw and cook in one motion.

The easiest way would probably to shell out the extra few bucks on higher end meat cuts, which will be more tender by their very nature.

    Hope that helps.

    Update...

Saw my rheumatologist yesterday, but this time my estrogen critter came in to grill him lol. Poor poor man.

She started by asking him to talk me out of my constant need to be on my foot, to which he told a tale (likely wrought by a bribe I never saw her give) about putting so much pressure on the joint that it would cause irreversible bone damage as the fluid lanced through my toe, thus weakening forever. Deal, I'll sit back down and STFU honey.

He told a lengthy tale about Colchicine (see: crocus poison) and alupurinol (see: a medication for gout that can cause a gout attack lol) that goes like this...

    - Take Colchicine until you are free of a gout attack for 2 weeks.
    - Take 50mg of Alupurinol for 2 weeks, then up it by 50mg for the next two weeks and so on until you are up to 300mg for 2 weeks.
    - Go for a blood test.
    - If your uric acid levels are fine, then continue meds for another 2 weeks to a month.
    - Move on with life.
