I'll be on more often now, we are expecting a litter of puppies in a couple of weeks so will be home for two weeks when they arrive. Looking forward to hearing their little squeaks in the house. I love newborn puppies!!
Hi Diane! Great to see you!!! Good job maintaining! You win the prize! Enjoy the puppies, and please post pics when the come.

Hey Rox! We are on the train together again. (As I type this, I am shoving a cinnamon roll in my mouth as this is my first loading day!) Put aside the mistakes of the past, and move on with this new round. Nothing lost but a little time...

We have now been without hcg for 3 days. We did VLCD for the 48 hours (as if we finished the round), but now I'm afraid to continue with VLCD so I'm trying to treat it like a P3. But, I've already seen an increase on the scale. I have no choice but to wait for the hcg to arrive to continue with R3. Can somebody explain to me a planned (unplanned in my case) interruption? I'm hoping we can still pull it off. I really don't want to have to do R3 for a fourth time. UGH!!! UGH!!! UGH!!!! **pulling my hair out** UGH!!!
    HELP!
FAB, you have a few positives on your side. First - you did get through 21 days before the hCG spillage, right? Second - you did the right thing going with the 48 hours VLCD post no-hCG. Now if you want to turn this into a PI, you just continue on until you get your new drops and then pick up where you left off (no need to re-load). OR, you could do as Roxie suggested and try HhCG... I had good success with it my first round. Let us know what you decide!

Have a great Monday everyone - oh wait, it's Tuesday! First day back to school here and I've been up since about 3 AM with a crabby little boy. Hoping for a nap later on!

I was hungry yesterday.. not tummy growling hungry but I want something in my mouth hungry.. I need to buy some more gum. I think that the issue is not drinking enough. I'll make an effort to drink more today.. pretty sure I didn't drink much this w/e. I also have a bad headache which can be caused by that as well. Still never got my monthly.. I'm now 7 days late.. so hopefully I'm just skipping this month completely. shrug. Strange... (not that I'm complaining!!!) I don't like my monthly on HCG, it's superpowered and heavy as all heck.

I had cottage cheese and a yellow heirloom tomato for lunch yesterday and veal and asparagus for dinner. I bought some Zevia... I got the ginger ale flavor (but I haven't tried it yet), the guy at the check out said that they have a mountain dew-ish one too, they were out of it. I may have to hit Wholefoods again this week and look for it He said that he loves the Zevia and that it doesn't have all the stuff that makes diet pop bad for you. (ok.. he probably didn't say pop).

I had a great weekend! On Saturday I shopped. ha ha ha.. I went to Kohl's in the a.m. because I had a 15% off everything coupon and they had some "early bird" specials for the Labor Day w/e. I spent $150 and saved over $300. I got myself 4 tops (one button down blouse and three knit tops that were on clearance), a pair of black slacks (yeah, prob didn't need another pair, but the ones I wear all the time are getting too loose), got K 2 t-shirts and got Z 2 pair of jeans. Then I went later
in the day to Goodwill (took K to get her haircut and saw that they were having 50% off everything.. wow) and spent $60 and got myself 3 sweaters & two purses (XOXO and nine west), K a heavy coat and 4 tops, Z a pair of jeans and 3 tshirts and Kev a pair of shorts. Yes.. all that for $60.. crazy. And then on Sunday I worked in the 14-18mo baby room at church. I still need to go online to hear the sermon, that's the drawback, missing the service, but hanging with the babies for an hour was pretty awesome

    Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!!

I gained 22.2 pounds between the last round and this one. I still have 1 pound to go before I hit my LIW. Chin up, you are not alone It sucks that I'm on day 22 and I'm still not to my LIW but I know I'll hit it and go beyond before I wrap up this round and am committed to keeping it off before I start R4 in December. Welcome back!

I think that an unplanned interruption is the way to go, that way you can finish your round. Here's what I found on the board:

P&I says the interruption has to be more than 4 days, but no longer than 2 weeks. Also, you can't take an interruption until you have had 20 effective injections. P&I explains "effective" like this, "We distinguish between the first three injections, which we call “non-effective” as far as the loss of weight is concerned, and the subsequent injections given while the patient is dieting, which we call 'effective'." I think that's why you hear both 20 days and 23 days. It is 23 days of total injections, or 20 effective injections. Again, if you aren't quite to that many days, you could give it a try and see how it goes.

I've done a planned interruption on most of my rounds. They work just fine for me. I eat P3-style, eating lots of fat, protein and non-starchy vegetables. I don't seem to gain as long as I eat enough fat/protein.

Here's what P&I says about interruptions:

"If an interruption of treatment lasting more than four days is necessary, the patient must increase his diet to at least 800 Calories by adding meat, eggs, cheese, and milk to his diet after the third day, as otherwise he will find himself so hungry and weak that he is unable to go about his usual occupation. If the interval lasts less than two weeks the patient can directly resume injections and the 500-Calorie diet, but if the interruption lasts longer he must again eat normally until he has had his third injection.
When a patient knows beforehand that he will have to travel and be absent for more than four days, it is always better to stop injections three days before he is due to leave so that he can have the three days of strict dieting which are necessary after the last injection at home. This saves him from the almost impossible task of having to arrange the 500 Calorie diet while en route, and he can thus enjoy a much greater dietary freedom from the day of his departure. Interruptions occurring before 20 effective injections have been given are most undesirable, because with less than that number of injections some weight is liable to be regained. After the 20th injection an unavoidable interruption is merely a loss of time."

-- I personally never have done one, I hope that helps. I think it's worth the try in lieu of ending the round now. Assuming you get your supply before 2 weeks have passed.

    R1: 307.2, LIW 270.8, released 36.4 pounds, gained 9.6 before round 2.
    R2: 283.8, LIW 251.6, released 32.2, gained 20.2 before round 3.
    R3: 273.8, LIW 241, released 32.8 pounds, gained 4 pounds loading for round 4.
R4: 245, LIW 216.2, released 28.8 pounds, gained 11.8 pounds between and loading for 5.
    R5: 227, LIW 197.6, released 29.4 pounds.

Ok, so being the power loader that I am, I never understood when people would say 'OMG! I can't load anymore.' I thought - suck it up! You get to eat anything you want guilt free to 2 days! ENJOY!!! Well, let me tell you - after day 1 of loading, I'm over it. I guess the good news is that in the overall perspective of things, my relationship with food HAS changed. i sure am looking forward to the first days of VLCD which always leave me feeling 'lighter' whether the scale moves significantly or not. I think it has to do with the 100% healthy stuff that is going into my body, as well as the water consumption, although for the most part, I have been pretty good about that.

hope you're all doing well. I'm checking the board on a regular basis throughout the day now, so I'll be in touch.

It's so good to chat with you again!! I've missed you! xoxo

I have noticed that eating sugar (mainly chocolate and candy in general) has increased my cravings....before I started slipping badly, I really didn't miss it and if I allowed myself a piece of choc here or there, I was fine, but now, I think about it constantly....hope that goes away as my clean eating continues!! My dh has been supportive this round so far, asking me what I can eat and grilling chicken for me.....fingers crossed that I can stay strong....I keep a dish of candy on my desk for the kids and wanted so badly to dig into it yesterday, but stayed strong knowing the results I'm going for..........

I think the last two weeks before I loaded, I was loading everyday, so my 2 loading days were a cake walk! No pun intended! lol But I know what you mean.....you know, I think in the back of my head I was thinking, so what if I gain a little, I'm doing another round and it will fall off...no worries! I did not get on the scale prior to loading and on my first VLCD when I stepped on that thing, I about died! I can't believe I let myself go like that! Geez....today is day 3 of VLCD and I'm feeling pretty good. I started this journey in October of 2011......and have managed to keep off most of the weight, except for the last few weeks....epic fail.....small clothes feeling snug.....

I went to the doctor last month for my annual physical and he came into the exam room and said, you have lost a lot of weight over the last 2 years....I said, yes, I did the hcg diet, and he said there was no medical evidence that hcg helps with weight loss......and I said really? That's what I did......so, doc, take that!

I will continue to check in here daily as I find I need to be accountable and need the support from people who understand the diet and what we are all going through....I hope I can be of some support to you all as well.....I'm so excited to be back on the road to clean/healthy eating!!

Have a great day everyone!! Happy losses to all!!

I am glad you DH is supportive of you. Mine is as well, and I am SO grateful for it! He, for one, especially enjoys loading days LOL!

I kind of did the same thing you did the past week. Ate what I wanted and didn't pay too much attention to what it was. We did a 'State Fair' party this weekend where we pretty much battered and deep fried just about anything short of my sister's cat. Snickers, Twix, Oreos, pickles, donuts, corndogs, onions - the list really does go on and on. Funny thing is - I didn't gain anything that day LOL! Nor the day after. The worst thing for me this summer is that after months and months of not drinking beer at all, I started having a few here and there. That sh!t will pack it on but quick! So, no more beer for me going forward... oh well. I can live with that!

The purpose for loading is to get fats into your body that will help sustain you as you go into the VLCD. It is such a drastic change (read: starvation diet) that our bodies start to shut down if they don't have the loaded fats waiting in the cells. Hope that helps!

Thanks Roxie! I've certainly had my share of stumbles since I started this in June '11. But now that I've learned I'm sensitive to a whole lot of foods I had been eating in P3/P4 (pecans, almonds, dairy, whey protein), I'm looking forward to stabilizing this time around. I will dearly miss HWC in my coffee, but oh well! I don't dearly miss being fat so I'll just have to deal with it. LOL!

PS - I LOVE the quote in your siggy! It's one of my favorites.

Good morning!!! So it begins. VLCD 1 here for Fatty, and after 2 days of loading, I sure feel like my nickname

Make it a great day, everyone. Losers, stay strong, and if you have a chance, give a quick check in on how you're doing. Maintainers, keep up the good work!

FAB, what did you decide as far as a PI?
