Thread: Any other 'Weight Loss Apocalypse Protocol' followers out there??

  1. #37
Thanks Pensee, I'm not obsessing over the scale or measuring tape (heck this is VLCP day 17 and the first time I've measured), I realize I might have sounded like that above. I'm sticking to everything and I know the weight will come off. I probably shouldn't measure at all until I'm done with the VLCP since I know my body does this.

    Hey Bonnie,

I just made some mashed cauliflower for a late dinner (along with some seasoned lean ground beef). I thought I'd share how I prepare it since you said before that yours comes out runny. What I do is boil fresh cauliflower until it's very soft, where you barely have to push on it for the utensil you're using to go right through it. Then I drain out the water and keep it in the same pot and the same heat, returning it to the stove. I then let it cook some more that way, with nothing but the soft cauliflower in the pot, for several minutes, stirring a lot and mashing it up quite a bit in the process. This step dries out the cauliflower which gives it a texture almost identical to potatoes. It will start to look like the texture of the inside of a baked potato, that's how you know it's dried out enough. I then put it in a food processor to make it really smooth but that's just my preference. You then can add salt or whatever seasoning you like to it (I personally just put salt on it). It is soooooooo yummy!

Thanks for that Luce, i will try that next time (have some cauli in my fridge yay). My problem was that I blended it and therefore didn't evaporate some of the water before blending. I used to heat it through on my stove in non stick frypan with some garlic, salt and pepper and that thickened it up but i have a new spandagal frying pan and don't want to mess it up (since it's so pretty and wasn't cheap).

With regard to your earlier posts. I am the same. My previous experience shows me that I lose fat every two days or so. I might lose 1.1 pound and then the next day am the same and then the next day I might be down another pound or so. I do tend to lose inches pretty fast but then there are times and weeks where my body doesn't look any different then the following week it is very apparent. As long as we are going in the right direction {down} lol, then I am happy.

Today is VLCP day 19 and I have my weigh in on Sunday (measuring will be end of week 4). I think I have decided that I will let my body decide if I continue past the 30 day mark. I have been 110% strict to the WLA protocol without any deviations but i won't deny that I have been fantasizing about certain foods.... funnily enough the foods I am thinking of are P3 approved haha. Crazy eh. So what I am thinking is that if I lose 3kg/6.6lbs or more and next weigh in (weight loss for the week) then I will continue until 40 days but if I don't then I probably will only do 30 days and then go into P3 for 3 weeks followed by p4 for 3 weeks and then p2 again (in which I will probably cycle between P2 and P3 until I reach goal).

So that is my plan; sure I might change my mind, who knows but right now I'm happy with this plan.

Yum. Might have cauliflower mash tomorrow.

I just had 100g prawns with 2 cups finely shredded cabbage in a garlic/sea salt/pepper/garlic powder/chilli and a little home made stock for sauteing. So good.

How are you doing Cat? Did you find out about your exam results?

Tried radish mash instead of cauliflower the day b4 yesterday. Liked it much more than the cauliflower one. Hadn't ever thought of cooking radish b4 I found this recipe.

Moving on to p3 tonight. Yay. Hope I don't mess up though.

Could you please post the radish mash recipe?

Congrats with moving on to P3. How did P2 go for you this round?

Got the recipe from here in the forum but can't fund the link anymore. It's really simple. Cut radishs in peaces (half or quarters). Cook in a little bit of water or broth until very soft (30-45 min). Discard the water or leave uncovered for the last 10 min of cooking. Mash with the fork or in a food processor. They do ve a softer consistency than cauliflower, so u can thicken them a bit after processing by heating in a non-stick pan or so. Add ur favourite spices. I like to add a sliced green onion, salt & pepper.
I liked them cause they taste like spicy mashed potato, rather neutral... cauliflower has too much flavour, so doesn't fit with everything.

Well, my p2 was a bit less successful than I d hoped. But for the first time I didn't cheat (thanx to robin), so It's o.k.
It was a 37 d round. My losses were good at the beginning. Then had a dosing problem the second week in. Followed by tom and an 11 d stall. Lost a total (net) of 5.3 kg until LIW. Was hoping for more. But I didn't ve that much to lose to start with. Most of my clothes fit again & I can live with the way I look rt now. Would like to lose another 5-7 kg, depending on how I look & if there will b any reshaping in p3. But since I had so many failed attempts on HCG, it ll b a while until I can start again. Thinking maybe mid Nov or end of Jan. Most important thing for me now is to stabilize & get a bit fitter & more toned. Will try to go by the hunger scale (let's c how well that works while traveling). Haven't been using it in p2, so ll need some practice.

Pensee, I am also travelling just after I finish the no starch/no sugar phase. It's weird but I don't think I will be worried about it because I've gotten so good about using the hunger scale. I would not be surprised if I end up becoming one of those really obnoxious thin girls that eats burgers, pizza, ice cream, etc. without guilt or weight gain (women like that always made me sooo annoyed before). Because I'll only eat when hungry, eat what I'm craving, but then stop when I am full. I am so done with being one of those people that battles their weight constantly. I do need to keep listening to my Paul McKenna "I Can Make You Thin" hypnosis tracks though, because I do notice every now and then really wanting to eat out of pure desire and not hunger, but since his mantra is almost identical to Robin's "Eat when you are hungry, eat what you want, really enjoy your food, then stop when you are full" it seems to really help me not eat out of desire for something.

Bonnie I am so with you on craving P3 foods! I want avocados and cheese so badly. I don't think it's strange at all, Robin talks about in a couple of her videos how amazing fat is and really, our bodies *need* it., so it makes sense that we'd crave it. Have you seen the movie Fathead? It's mostly a comical rebuttal of Super Size Me, but it also goes into the science behind why humans *need* fat, why animal fats/saturated fats are anything but evil, etc.

Made some broccoli soup for lunch! Had a fillet of lemon chicken alongside it. I brought 1 can of fat free chicken broth (which is on Robin's protocol) along with about 1/2 can of water and a few sprinkles of poultry seasoning to a boil, added around 2 cups of fresh broccoli, and let it boil until the broccoli was extremely soft, falling apart. I then took it off the heat and used my immersion blender et voila, yummy broccoli soup! If you want it thicker (which is how I like it), just let it cook longer so there's less of the broth to mix in when it comes time to blend it. Definitely hit the spot, if you can't tell I am starting to get tired of the food choices so I'm experimenting a little.

EDIT: Would you know, I couldn't finish my soup? I reached a 6 on the hunger scale with 2-3 bites of chicken left, and about half of my soup left. I ate the chicken just because I know how important it is to get all our protein in. But I just couldn't finish my soup. I admit I'm annoyed because I spent the time making it, and it's quite good. I won't finish this, I'll either put it away in the fridge for later or just dispose of it, but I need to work on being okay with leaving food. I grew up with "clean your plate" parents and I've always hated wasting food. Working on it though...

    Luce, nice ticker lol.

Pensee, I am feeling the same as you a bit. This round my losses have been a little less but my inch loss has been more... go figure. I thought I would drop more on the scale but so far haven't. TOM is almost upon me so that could be a reason. I still have another week or so to go. Not sure if I am going to do a 30 or 40 day round. Hmmm what to do what to do . Also, thanks for the recipe.

Luce, yum, broccoli soup. might have to make some on the weekend. Have some frozen chicken broth (homemade) and frozen broccoli. No, I haven't seen fathead but i might check it out. I also, think I might become one of those 'obnoxious' girls too haha, i am finding it very easy to only eat when I am hungry. I, too, love Paul McKenna and last round i listened to his 'I can make you thin' tracks almost every day. The were very helpful and motivating.

I also grew up with parents who made me clean my plate of the food. Sometimes I would be sitting there for hours... so I guess with what they thought was good back then ... but it only made us screwed up and we feel guilty and bad about wasting food now a days when we know better. I'm getting there though .

I hope you are all well.
