Oh, don't say that! I just purchased the Jay Robb's Whey Protein Powder and will be starting it tomorrow I got it because it doesn't contain fats or sugars. It has to be good for something. I hope that it works for me. Good luck to you!!
hCGNewbie09 - Just wanted to chime in - I used some of Jay Robb's shakes last round to supplement because my body was calling for more protein than usual - both the whey and the choc egg white shakes - used the vanilla and tropical dreamcile flavor whey ones. I used some other brands of whey shakes, also. I lost 19.4 lbs in my last round - the shakes worked well, tasted fine to me and I lost. I was not 100 % animal protein free, but vastly reduced intake - [was vegan/vegetarian a lot last year.]

    Best wishes -

    Question thinking about HCG

I haven't started hcg yet. My friend (meat eater) lost 39lbs in 8 weeks in round 1, so now wondering if vegetarians can do this. read the whole thread and it's making me optimistic. Just thinking about the protein options. I don't like anything that simulates meat texture/taste, and don't eat whey (is there a whey protein shake made of vegetarian rennet?), and don't eat eggs unless cooked in something. any recommendations on best way to consider starting this?

I use a pea protein powder that is ok, you have to soak it for a couple minutes in a little warm water first then mix with almond milk or whatever you like. It does not have any sweeteners added so I use Stevita (xylitol/stevia) and usually frozen stawberries.

Ha!, I was thinking of that as well. I use a pea protein shake (no soaking involved) - gluten free - by 'Peaceful Planet' - mine is French Vanilla 'unsweetened' - has maltodextrin and stevia, but I think can be called 'unsweetened' because the amounts are so small <1g sugars per serving -
    here's the label content.
'Peaceful Planet' -pea protein French Vanilla 'unsweetened'
    serving sz 1 scoop 33g
    cals 130
    tot fat <1g
    sodium 190mg
    tot carb 5g
    fiber<1g
    sugars <1g
    protein 25g
    other ingredients:
Non-GMO pea protein isolate, natural flavor, Organic Vanilla flavor, maltodextrin, Psyllium seed husk, Organic whole apple, Stevia leaf extract, enzyme blend(bromelian, and papain, DDS-1 L-Acidphlus-( dairy free)
VegLife guarantee - NO ingredients added other than those listed on this label

Mentioned under nutrient content is also:
    Organic greens blend - 800mg:
Organic Spirulina, Organic Barley grass, Organic Kelp

My naturapath has some other vegetarian protein powders for me to check out as well - I'll check in again when I get more information on their HCG phase compatibility.

    Best of luck!

Brand of cottage cheese doesn't matter--just that it must be fat free.

I'm a vegetarian, too. I've been doing egg whites for my protein. I fry them without anything else in the pan, they stick a little but otherwise it's okay. I use 8-10 per meal, which is 136-170 calories and 30-36g of protein per meal. A little salt and pepper for flavor and sometimes a splash of apple cider vinegar (sounds weird but egg whites get really boring after a while)! It's monotonous but it appears to be working okay.
