Thread: P2 Meat Alternatives

    I have mostly done vegetarian, and wondering since I am on my way to Phase 3, if I have to do a steak day what do I do an alternative.

    Steak days are always the preferred choice according to the protocol. But vegetarians have been successful at making various substitutions.

    You don't mention what level of vegetarian you are, but here are some alternate steak days that have worked for some (all include drinking enough water):

    full-fat Greek yogurt days (1 quart of GY plus 8 oz berries divided as you wish throughout the day)

    egg day: eat between 8-12 eggs throughout the day. You can have a daily total of 1-2 oz. of cheese, some sugarfree pickle relish, little bit of mustard, and a few TBSP. of mayo. Sugarfree is best, but regular is ok.

    cheese & apple day: 6 apples and 6 oz cheese (not low fat) spaced into 6 meals.

    salmon day: just like a steak day, but eat a large portion of salmon instead of the steak for your one meal. Add extra butter or coconut oil to the salmon.
