Thread: RAW Vegan?!? HELP!

  1. #37
I'm currently loading for my third round of hcg. Since my last round I have gone raw, and I LOVE it! I'm not losing too much weight on it though, so I'm doing my last round of hcg. My first two rounds had to end early because I physically could not eat any meat anymore or eggs. I was starting to vomit while trying to chew, so I stopped at 33 days and then at 27 days on my second round. I used to be vegan, not raw, and stopped to do hcg. But meat just does not mesh with my body! Anyway, I hope to do well. I plan on eating lots of raw veggies (lots of leafy greens for protein), lower sugar fruits, no nuts, and the occasional raw protein powder in a shake and some spirulina. I have a few samples of sun warrior, so I'll try that whenever I feel the need to. I'm excited about this because I'm thinking it will make the whole process a lot more enjoyable for me. Has anyone tried it raw and gotten good results? Did you stabilize? Thanks!

Hi! I am new to the forum, and eagerly awaiting my first delivery of HCG injectable.

I am 38, have been high vegan, high raw, high plant based diet almost my whole life (since I was a small child), and gluten-free for about 5 years - I also juice 1-2 meals a day (and do seasonal and annual juice fasts). With the exception of a little soymilk each day, I rarely eat processed foods, including store-bought dressings, nutmilks, whatever. I just make my own. My weight has always been pretty stable, fluctuating between 5-10 lbs over my goal weight, but the last year I put on a few extra pounds and now have about 20 lbs to lose to put me back at my goal. Ugh! Found HCG through a friend who had great success with it, kept the weight off for the last 6 months, so I thought I'd give it a go.

I will be doing a lot of planning this week before it arrives so I can accomplish this on a gluten-free, raw, vegan, plant-based diet without the use of any processed foods (I don't eat those fake meat things or protein powders, etc). Hoping I can make it work with the help from my Vita-mix, juicer, and dehydrator! Got some good leads on this thread but would love info from anyone else who has done this successfully without the use of animal based, artificial, or processed foods.

I know this is an old post but I see some of you are still around... So just wondering how you all are doing? I just got a Vitamix so I'm going raw vegan for 30 days. I just started P3. Already up .5, but I think I know why. Otherwise, so far so good.

Thought I'd update! Well, going raw vegan I gained all my weight back. It was my fault, fully. I did not stabilize in P3. Plus I drank alcohol (mostly beer and wine), I went on vacations (ate some crap) but mostly I tried to stick to raw vegan. So, here I am... again, loading this weekend. I will only go raw vegan again after I have stabilize very well after probably 2 rounds, then increase my exercise like crazy as I will be moving next door to a nature trail Yay, fresh air, trees and vitamin D=sunshine!

So there it is... I am going to eat grass fed beef, organic chicken and the occasional wild-caught fish only during P2 and P3, but P4 will be raw vegan. I think the biggest culprit for me is dairy and gluten. But I felt good eating clean and raw, so that's the lifestyle I want to live after I get rid of this excess weight I caused due to my stupidity of thinking that because it's healthy (fruits and veggies) I can eat all of it I want, regardless if I'm hungry, bored, etc.

Hmmm... this chick did well subbing Ezekial bread, quinoa, and plant-based protein powder. Maybe I should rethink this... I am just super afraid of too many carbs.
Eating meat again seems to be going backwards in terms of health and that is what is the most important here, not the weight loss.

I don't cook meat though I do eat it sometimes but I hate cooking it or buying it. (I was vegetarian for years and eat meat once in awhile now) It just seems like too much of a hassle and I don't believe its very healthy for you so then I went to the idea of doing it RAW vegan.. God's pure food but cannot find much info about it on the internet. Nobody really goes into detail about what they eat, how much, etc. So then I thought screw it.. I'll just try it vegetarian but I don't like the thought of eating eggs and cottage cheese the thought makes my stomach sick and protein powders do not seem healthy to me either. I couldn't eat that every day. I am just one confused woman! And I'm not even sure how to ask questions and get the answer I am looking for..

Has anyone here tried it WITHOUT eggs, cottage cheese, this quinoa or ezekiel bread everyone speaks of, or without protein powder shakes?!?

Has anyone tried it with raw almonds, cashews, etc instead to get their protein (replacing meat portions with nuts) and actually LOST weight with using it instead?! (I read about cashews and see that its risky and most people gain from it but everyones different)

Has anyone tried it on a raw vegan diet?!?

If you have done any of these.. can you give the most detailed answers as possible? What you ate exactly, what time of day, how much.. etc.. I know I'm gonna have to experiment no matter what because I'm so difficult and weird LOL. I need a lot of help! Thank you in advance!!
Doing the best that I can , from where I am. All is well

At 500 calories a day, it doesn't matter what you eat, you will lose weight with or without HCG. I'd skip the protein powder, why eat processed foods full of crap that could stall you. Just eat whole plant foods, you'll be fine.

The benefit of not eating any overt fats and animals is that you will be healing your arteries and endothelial lining, lowering your cholesterol, and speeding up weight loss since carbohydrates are difficult to convert to fat. At 500 calories a day, it would be virtually impossible to do.

For raw vegan, I'd just do fruits and veggies and be done with it. Make sure you eat a ton of lettuces to get some minerals in that aren't contained in fruits, they are so low in calories you can eat an entire head a day and barely hit 100 calories.

Get a spiralizer (you can get them off Amazon for about USD 20-30). You can spiralize cucumbers and zucchini and eat those raw with chopped tomatoes or chopped fruit over them. I love my spiralizer! Good luck!

How is it even possible to GAIN weight doing raw vegan?! I've been attempting to do 80-10-10 RV but I have to add in a cooked meal every day to keep my weight from dropping further (my BMI is currently 18.5). I eat monomeals of fruit for B and L, and then eat steamed potatoes with veggies for dinner, sometimes rice and beans, mostly potatoes.

You must have been eating a high fat vegan diet. Bad news, no wonder you gained. If you have fat to lose, don't eat any fat foods like avocado or nuts, you'll definitely gain. Fat inhibits weight loss. If all you ate was fruits and a bunch of lettuce every day, you couldn't keep weight ON. You could even add in dates and go wild eating dates and you'd still lose.

    Good luck!
