    Vegan cheese in P3?

    Hi ALl,

I was wondering if anyone uses Daiya cheese or something like it in P3? It has tapioca and/or arrowroot flours, pea protein, inactive yeast, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, so I'm not sure...any thoughts or experiences?
    Thanks!

Looking at the nutritional info for the cheddar, its 8 grams carbohydrate per ounce, probably from the tapioca starch. And only 1 gram protein. So I would say that its not a good choice for P3.

Whole Foods carries the Kite Hill vegan cheeses that are made from cultured nut milks. I think that would be a better choice as no starches are added.

There are recipes online for vegan nut cheeses that you can whirr up in your food processor that are basically nuts, nutritional yeast, lemon & salt. I hear the tahini based ones can be pretty good. I haven't made any personally though to recommend.

I really like soya cheese. As for me it is even tastier than cow's. I started to be vegetarian once I tried soya milk cheese) I have been on veg diet plan for 6 weeks and I have lost 10 kg

I've been using cheese, cottage cheese (non-fat, low-fat and full fat), homemade paneer made from whole milk, yogurt, egg whites (mostly poached but I like to eat them with grated Parmesan cheese and a little melted butter) and pure whey powder protein smoothies with fruit and ice.

You can choose to have soy cheese in P3 (always check additives), but many of us that can only lose weight on HCG have thyroid issues always in play. Soy is a thyroid disrupter, so we avoid any soy products of all kinds.

I use cottage cheese and mix it with some homemade applesauce. It really changes the taste. It sounds gross but everyone that has tried it is now hooked. Just another variation for you!

Thanks all. I'm in P4 now, so I may try soy cheese. I ate "real" cheese in P3 and it went okay, but I'd still like to eliminate it soon. Thanks! Cottage cheese and apple sauce sounds good to me
