Thread: vegan diet

  1. #13
Woke up today with a .5 pound loss! I'll take it! I had 2 of my tomato stuffed with quinoa and spinach during the birthday celebration and was not even tempted by the rest of the spread, not even the vegan chocolate cake. I was so busy and distracted yesterday throughout the entire day that I didn't even have time to even have cravings. I'm feeling great today! Lots of energy and feeling happy! My weight is now: 161.4

    Have a wonderful day!!

Nice job with the no-cheat party! Down 1/2lb is impressive too!

Weighed in this morning and I'm down another 1.6lbs! My body seems to be catching up from that cluster of goose eggs I had at the end of week one. Today is VLCD13 and I've lost 11lbs so far.

Busy weekend with school related design work plus the Super Bowl (I'm from Seattle - go Hawks!) so it's going to be a fun weekend. This cluster of losses has ramped up my motivation, which was pretty high to begin with so I think it's going to be a great weekend!

    Cheers,

    Hello again,

Well I have decided to alter my protocol a bit. The 500 calories with the food selections I have made is just not cutting it. I am crazy with cravings! So much so that I caved this morning and ate a normal breakfast! I am very disappointed in myself but my boyfriend told me to NOT give up! I looked into the 1200 calorie protocol for HCG. The weight loss is not as fast, but it is consistent. I need something more to be added to my daily diet. I will be adding quinoa and tofu, along with tofu noodles to increase my calories and hopefully reduce or eliminate my intense cravings! Along with increased calories I will workout each day for about 40 minutes which will really help reduce hunger and make me feel better.

I am so proud of you, Lisa! You are doing an amazing job! I really admire your ability to stick to it! I thought I could too but the cravings got the better of me. Oh well, time to get off my *** and move on.

I will be watching the Superbowl as well, me with my boyfriend who is also on the hcg diet-traditional protocol. With renewed determination I will do this and be successful!

Thank you for your posts, I really do look forward to reading them. It's so nice to have another vegan hcg dieter to interact with.

    Have a great Superbowl Sunday!!

    Good day!

I woke up today ready to recommit to this! I needed to take my measurements as well and noticed that I have lost inches:
    waist - 31 to 29.5
    hips - 42 to 41
    thighs - 23 to 22
    I'm stoked!
    Have a great day!

    Hi Monica,

First off, don't be hard on yourself for having a normal breakfast. These things can happen -- especially when dealing with intense cravings. Intense cravings are no fun!

Sounds like that may be the way to go -- there's something to be said about slow and steady wins the race. And you'll still lose weight faster than without HCG. That's great that you're doing this with your boyfriend -- you've got a sympathetic/supportive ear since you're both doing the protocol.

I had three days in a row with strong losses (total of 4.8lbs) and I've had two goose egg days, but I'm not surprised. I think my body is stabilizing from that rapid loss of close to 5lbs. Hope to see the scale shift, even by just .2lbs would brighten my Monday and set the tone for the rest of the week. Fingers crossed.

Now I'm going to share some HCG info with you, just what info I found on here and am currently using for this round. I'm going to be placing another order around the middle of February in preparation for my next round. So I'm not trying to get you to use something, but if you did decide to order it we would both get a discount that covers the international shipping.

    So here's what I found.

I knew I was at my heaviest and wanted to try the HCG diet again, but noticed that homeopathic options on Amazon didn't exist anymore. Not with REAL Hcg. (Amazon: where I had bought it when I did my first round in late 2010)

So I dug around on this forum in late December to find the best options for trying injections this round. I found several different companies mentioned, but EscrowRefills.com had overall positive reviews here on the forum. I went to check out the site, but it wouldn't let me enter without and invitation code. So I went back to the forum and grabbed the first EscrowRefills ID# I found and was able to get in. I ended up ordering 3x 2000IU vials, which came out to total ~$75 because of a $30 credit from the ID#.

For the mixing kit I found some posts here on the forum about a U.S. company that had kits and shipped quickly, so I went to that site and ended up buying a 43 Day kit for less than what was posted on EscrowRefills. It was ~$36 with shipping and it has everything you need except for the HCG.

So for my first round, I spent about $110 total. I feel like it is really worth it because I've had no hunger pains, no cravings (and I've even smoked a little weed a couple of times since being on VLCD and absolutely no 'munchies.' I was at a party and chose the weed over wine because of the protocol! I'm totally committed to get to my goal.)

So here's the info, feel free to check it out. Like I said above, I'm reordering from both of these companies for my next round because I've had such a great experience thus far, so by no means feel obligated to check this stuff out. This is just a suggestion because I've had zero problems with cravings and hunger this time.

    FormaGenix.net
For HCG mixing kits, has everything you need

Well that's enough about that from me. Hope the information helps.

Hope you have a great Superbowl Sunday too!

That information you listed is awesome! I visited both sites and was easily able to locate the injection kit at FormaGenix. I was able to enter the EscrowRefills site but was not sure how to locate the 3X 2000IU vials you were referring to. Can you be a bit more specific as to where on the site I can locate the vials?
    Thanks so much!

    Hey Monica,

This is the brand I bought, you should be able to find it if you click on HCG under Medication Search:

HCG PREGNYL 2000 I.U. (HIGH PURITY)

I bought 3 vials, which is actually a little short for the full 40 day protocol, but it's still considered a long round.

Let me know if you decide to do it. I was a little daunted by mixing the HCG, but of course I found a super helpful post here on the forum that gave me step by step instructions. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have this awesome forum as a resource.

Let me know if you decide to try it. It will take some time to arrive, but if you do decide to do it I don't think you will be disappointed.

    Cheers,
    Lisa

Thank you, Lisa! I found it! I just need to scrape some money together and I will let you know when I am ordering. About how long does it take to arrive? Is there any way you could email me the instructions you found? I would really appreciate it! My email is [email protected]
Well, This morning I woke up weighing in at exactly what I did before I cheated - 161.4. I gained 2 pounds from my mistake and it took Sunday of eating right again to get it off. I am happy to be back on track! I am enjoying the increase in variety and calories. I think I was not really thinking clearly when I planned my initial daily menu. LOL I am doing well now and feeling good!
I am excited to try the injections as it sounds like they are working very well for you.
I hope you are doing great. Look forward to hearing for you again.

    Peace,
    Monica

While I cannot pretend to understand vegan "diet" ,as a Vegan
I would say the best protein in any phase (if you buy into complete protein theory) is Sun warrior classic.

I have done pea protein too but it stalls me for some reason although I like it.

You are also getting much much less fat than the meat eaters, You may, I say, may be able to get away with a ts of CNO or something a day too.

    Hey Monica,

Haven't posted in a couple of days -- nothing exciting to report because I was in another stall (which showed a weight gain the last two days) and finally broke this morning with a .6lb loss (or 2lbs if I count the bump up I had). Yesterday I spent a little time on the stall thread to boost my confidence. It really helped. I haven't cheated except for doing this as a vegan. so I knew it must be water weight (even though I'm drinking ~100oz/day).

So I'm on VLCD17 with a total of 11.6lbs lost so far. To be honest, I thought the weight was going to "fall off" this round because I've never been this heavy before and I thought my body would be happy to release it. Oh well, letting go of that dream now...

Regarding mixing instructions -- I found them here on the forum. It's even been marked with a sticky so it sits at the top of that forum. I can send you the link when I get home from work.

How are things going for you? I bet that 2lbs was just your body adjusting and had less to do with your "cheat." At least that's what I suspect. How's your boyfriend doing on the diet? It's great to have support like that while doing this diet.

Hi Kansas -- I've seen your name/posts on other pages. Welcome! Wasn't sure at first what you were referring to when you said "vegan diet" but then I realized you were talking about the name of this thread. Well for some people vegan diet is a great way to start. I'm sure it made sense to her.

You made a good point about coconut oil -- I've got some at home and may try that tonight. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Cheers,
    Lisa

    Mi: thanks for the welcome

I'm not doing a vegen diet means.. I'm a vegen for moral spiritual reasons so its not a "diet choice, or even a choice" haha.

I do realize that some "eat vegan " for cleansing or diet reasons but I dont know alot about that.

Oh, please , I didnt mean for you to go and eat CNO, but some are okay with it if they get low low no fat on the vegan diet ( I wanna shorten that to VD, but I wont)

I love CNO and it loves me.

i stay away from beans and processed soy on p2 including tofu which is highly processed . Makes it kinda hard.

    Cheers to you

I don't judge if people chose a vegan "diet" -- it's still a compassionate change.

Don't worry -- I took your comment about coconut oil as a suggestion -- and one I like since I use it when not on HCG.

I personally love tofu and have had it a couple of times since being in P2. I don't buy into junk science about hormones and tofu. If Asian cultures have been eating it for thousands of years with no health problems that are persistent with a meat heavy diet, that's good enough for me. Well, that and I read peer-reviewed medical journals that debunk a lot of ridiculous food myths such as the tofu/hormone one. Plus, I really like preparing it.
