    I love tofue too

I just have to choose the bigger protein bang for my calories.

Tofu, deep fried especially in a peanut sauce, Im mean with a peanut sauce. One of my favourites.

Any time pple choose to be compassionate to non human animals is A okay with me
Doing the best that I can , from where I am. All is well

Yowza! I just had my biggest loss to date when I stepped on the scale this morning!! Yesterday I had a goose egg after losing .6lbs on Monday. Was a little bummed with the zero yesterday but I could see and feel a difference in my body so I just chalked it up to a little water retention or whatever ever it is that causes zero days even though I'm diligent with my vegan choices.

So today is VLCD19 and I dropped 4.4lbs!! For a total of 16lbs so far. Woohoo!

Monica-- how are you doing? How are things going with the extra calories and cravings? Feeling good? Hope to hear news from you soon, I'm cheering you on.

I would say the best protein in any phase (if you buy into complete protein theory) is Sun warrior classic.

I have done pea protein too but it stalls me for some reason although I like it.

You are also getting much much less fat than the meat eaters, You may, I say, may be able to get away with a ts of CNO or something a day too.
    Hi Kansas,

I was vegan long before I considered using it to lose weight. I am vegan for ethical reasons. I was looking to lose weight and noticed that the HCG diet had a vegan protocol. It made sense to me. Hope you are doing well. Take care,

    Hi Lisa,

That is so AWESOME!! I am so happy for you! I, on the other hand, am not doing so well. As a recovering bulimic, my bulimia came crashing back, full force. I tried to stop, but was unable to. I just am so frustrated with myself. I went off HCG and went back to my normal vegan diet. No more cravings to binge and purge. I'm very sad right now and I just have to accept the fact that I cannot be on a diet that is so restrictive right now. On a brighter note, my boyfriend is still on the HCG diet and is doing great! He has lost 10 pounds in 12 days. I'm very proud of him.
I still want to follow your progress as I am hoping that I will eventually be able to do this.
Hang in there Lisa, you are doing awesome!

    Hi Kanikakashyap,

Welcome to the forum! There are some great folks on here that can offer you some advice or suggestions. Unfortunately I'm not one of them because I'm vegan and don't have any experience or recommendations for a vegetarian diet. What I do know from doing hcg two rounds plus what I've read in other people's post is that every body is different and results even vary between rounds for some folks. Your dosage may be off (possibly too high at 175 iu), but again, there are a lot of helpful senior members who can give you some feedback and suggestions. I hope you've posted your question on various threads, because I'm sure that someone(s) will step up and give you some solid suggestions.

Wishing you all the best during your second round, who knows, maybe you're just off to a slow start. This is my second round and it hasn't gone as I expected (based on my round one experience).

    Best wishes to you!!
    Lisa

Today is my LIW for R2. I ended up doing 35 days because I bought 2000 IU vials (3) and it turned out to not be enough for a 43 day round. But that's okay by me, I'm ready to wrap up this round!!! Going forward I'm going to only do short rounds. I'll be cycling -- not sure how long before I start again, either 3 or 4 weeks, depends on when I get TOM.

I finished this round at exactly .5lb/day average. 17.6lbs lost. I'm super happy with the results. Would I have liked it to be more?...sure! But I had multiple stalls and some ups and downs during TOM, so I think I finished strong and was vegan the whole way!!

72 more hours of VLCD and then I'm on to P3 for at least a few weeks. I'll check back in when I start P2 again around mid-March. I hope there will be more vegans trying HCG and finding out that it is possible to lose weight without having to consume any animal products!

    Cheers,
    Lisa

Don't worry -- I took your comment about coconut oil as a suggestion -- and one I like since I use it when not on HCG.

I personally love tofu and have had it a couple of times since being in P2. I don't buy into junk science about hormones and tofu. If Asian cultures have been eating it for thousands of years with no health problems that are persistent with a meat heavy diet, that's good enough for me. Well, that and I read peer-reviewed medical journals that debunk a lot of ridiculous food myths such as the tofu/hormone one. Plus, I really like preparing it.
    Hey Miapapillon
My understanding is the tofu bean cakes, as we eat it in Western society, really is a hormone disrupter. Unfortunate since enough things are messing with our bodies in today's toxic climate! The reason the Asians do well with it is they eat tofu in a fermented form: Tempeh, Natto, Miso.
I'm not a scientist, but I do try and be careful about what I eat.

I've spent quite a bit of time in both Japan and China and tofu -- along with other types of soy beans -- is definitely a part of a normal diet. I base my choices on personal experience and peer-reviewed scientific journals, not what I read on the internet. I'm not hear to argue with anyone, but I also feel it's important to stand up against the rampant misinformation.

A friend of mine just started the hcg diet(http://www.pinewoodhealth.ca/weight-...f-07bc29360dcd ). The diet is 500 calories a day! He's been always a big eater who needs three meals a day and he say's he isn't hungry. He also mentioned that mentally it seems like it's difficult, but the hunger seems under control. He had lost around 6 pounds in 3 days. So, I guess he’ll see the benefit soon.

I'm cycling so I'll be on P3 for three weeks between rounds. Not too worried about it or P4, when I get there. I think weighing in daily is key to staying aware and seeing when minor adjustments need to be made. Vagueness is a killer for me -- it played a huge part in my getting to my heaviest weight ever.

I lost 1.8lbs this morning. So that's exciting. Started a new batch of HCG today and got my weekly B12/fat burner shot today. Feeling good. I'd like to average 5lbs a week on this round and so far I'm on track.
