Question New to this group, (mostly) vegetarian - question re: eggs!

Hi, all. I'm new to this board. I'm on R1/P2/Day 14. I have 45 lb total to lose, and have lost 10.2 lb so far. I'm feeling pretty good about how things are going so far, except for one thing: I was vegetarian before I started HCG diet (I'm using drops, btw). I've been eating whitefish and salad shrimp 2x/day since starting, as my proteins, because I'm also dairy-free at my doctor's recommendation, and she doesn't want me going back to dairy to do this. The fish was our compromise. However, it's a struggle, and I'm getting less and less inclined to eat the fish. :-/ I tried super-white-meat (no rib) low-fat canned chicken meat and didn't hate that as much as the fish or shrimp (it seems less like meat, I guess, lol) - but I don't want to do that too often, either.

Some folks on another group advised I try 1 egg + 2 egg whites for my protein portion, but I've also read that eggs can lead to greatly slower loss. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If the eggs WILL slow my loss down, is there anything else you all can recommend that is NOT dairy? What about tempeh? (My doc is OK with the tempeh re: my thyroid, etc.) I just want to get what I need without slowing my loss down, because I'm doing really well, but I'm getting rapidly grossed out by the meat...

    Thanks!!

    Angelle

In Pounds & Inches, it says that 1 whole egg+3 egg whites can be used occasionally to replace meat. Some people are sensitive to eggs so it slows their losses or makes them gain. I've always done well with eggs and I usually have a big loss the day after eating them. You can also try protein powder. A lot of people like Jay Robb or Sun Warrior raw vegan.

When choosing a protein, you should look for something that has about 85-120 calories, 20-ish protein grams, no or almost no carbs, and very low fat such as none or one or two grams.
