Thread: Less than 25 Pounds to Lose

  1. #1381
Welcome, Erin! The more the merrier.

I can see how you would be frustrated. I am sorry I have no advice for you other than to also track your measurements. Have you been? That has been what has kept me going most days. Are you measuring 100 grams of meat? I can't see why you wouldn't be losing faster. But the crazy thing about this program is that it sets up up to expect to lose 10 pounds a week (exaggeration) after seeing the success of some others. Have you ever lost six pounds in two weeks before? That is still great!

I am with you in wanting to stay on the program longer with the slower weight loss days. We know this can be successful and really want the end result! I am pretty sure you don't need a skip day but check in on a FAQ forum as I am no expert. I lol'ed when you said your husband thinks you are addicted to this forum as that same thought has crossed my head about myself a couple of times. This is such an intense protocol that I am not sharing my journey with most people in my life and it is great to come here and exchange thoughts and issues etc.

Keep checking in with us! You will have success!

    Morning ladies

    I'm down another .6 pounds to 129.2

moving right along with my 1/2 lbs a day losses

Tomorrow is 2 weeks on P2 so another week

ERIN- maybe you aren't eating enough

i say that because if you aren't eating the melba toast and a cup of celery or cucumber, than you are shorting yourself about 200 calories a day which puts you at very little calories

a cup of cucumber is very very little caloories

what I do is go online and figure out how many calories 50 calories of whatever veggie I am eating is

    so each veggie is different

I do the same for my fruit. I only eat strawberries, so 50 calories is 6oz. so i weigh out 6 oz.

i am still not getting my 500 calories because i'm eating 100 calories of protein, 50 calories of veggies, 50 calories of fruit. i too dont eat my melba toast. i'm about 100 calories short of the 500

i think this week i'm going to start eating 150 calories of whatever protein i'm eating, 50 calories strawberries and I alternate between grape tomatoes and some other veggie. so that will equal 500 calories

    something to think about

are you working out too? drinking water? with lemon? the lemon i think really helps me flush things out. and are you using salt or maybe some other spices have things in them you dont realize

    just throwing some suggestions out

It is SO challenging and you did it! After the last injection is it 48 or 72 hours last we are supposed to stay the VLC days? Have you started shopping for P3 or planning your meals? I bought a book on the Paleo Diet (which is similar to P3) to help me prepare and plan for it. I am using lemon in my water. I love the way it tastes and hopefully it will help me continue to release fat.

Well, the scale finally moved for me and I dropped 1.8 lbs. I couldn't believe it. I got back on it two or three times just to make sure it was going to stay there. That helped my spirits for sure! I am going to continue with P2 until I drop another ten pounds or another 28 days (whichever comes first). The thing is - I am running low on the injections. I ordered more 10 days ago but may have to switch the hhcg in the time it takes for the injections to get here. That should be fine from what I have read on these forums but I may have to play with the dosage etc.

So after VLCD11 I am down 10.6 lbs! woo hoo!
Determined 10.6 lbs in 11 days is GREAT! I am so excited about moving on. But I don't know where to start. I keep reading recipes and things to eat and not eat. After having so few choices it's very over whelming. I have been taking the drops and unlike the injection I only have to wait 48 hrs to start P3.

A little about me. I am 32yo mother of three and have about 15-20 to lose. I am on VLCD 14 and have only lost 6 pounds so far!!! (sniffle) I have to say I am getting a bit discouraged, and reading this thread is sometime what helps me keep my sanity. (My husband thinks I'm addicted to this forum--he's right!)

I just don't know why I'm losing so slowly or not at all, today I actually gained 0.2 pounds!!! I follow Dr. S's protocol to a T. Except I don't do the melba or any bread sticks at all. I weigh all my meats and my veggies are the equivalent of 3-4 stalks of celery or 1 cup of sliced cucumbers. I don't use any sweeteners or toppings--just salt and sometimes 1tbsp of ACV. I never mix veggies either. I do SQ injections and i feel it's at the right dosage because I'm not hungry except right before lunch and dinner and I'm satisfied half way through my meal. Oh, and lots and lots of water and some green tea just plain.

I guess I just feel what more can I do? It's tempting to take out the apple & orange per day, but then I'm afraid to be way under 500 cal. Sometimes I wonder if I'm already under 500. I have a hard time judging veggie portions so I tend to air on less rather than more.

Sorry to be such a buzz kill on ya'all, upon first date (smiles). I guess I just feel desperate for this to work for me, because if it doesn't (even when I am doing everything right) then I must be broken, or something. And further, if this doesn't work...what in the heck will? I am normally a fun, bubbly kind of person...but this is just so frustrating. I feel like something about me is, well, broken. But the ironic part is...the less that scale moves--the more stubborn and determined I feel to see this thing through. My original plan of a 23 day round has been changed (in my mind) to a 35+ day run. Except I haven't been doing any skip days...so I'm not sure if I am allowed to extend it.

That being said, you ladies are ALL such an inspiration! I get excited everytime I see your losses and I've been cheering for you from the start (just in stalk mode--giggling) Thanks for hearing me ramble. I'm excited to be part of your journey!

    Blessings,

    Erin
Erin Welcome it is so nice to have you with us!!! I can see why you are discouraged. The only suggestion I have is check your calories. I use sparkpeople.com others use fitnesspal.com (I think) Just find something that you like. Even our meats fluctuate so much in cal per 100 oz I am afraid your cal are way too low. I have up'ed my protien because of being so weak/tired. And have been eating lots of cucumbers and strawberries. I make protien my number on priority on this diet. Keep posting! We have your back

Jamie You are doing so well. I forget are you on the drops/pellets or injections?

AFM-I got on the scale yesterday and got a huge surprise. 121 When I started this I was only going to do 3 weeks. When that day came and I was doing so well I decided to go another week. Well as you can see that continued til I got here. It made it easier for me to stay on track because I had no pressure on myself to keep going. It ws so worth it Now I am confused on one issue. What is the last weight I take for my LDW. Monday moring when I take my last dose or Wednesday morning when I actually start P3?

Great weekend losses everyone! I hope it's been a good weekend for you too. The sun is shining here so I had better get out and enjoy it while I can.

Hi All - I've been hanging out in another forum but you guys are in the same boat as me so I've been reading your posts too. I'm on VLCD18 and have lost 13 lbs so far. I've stalled twice - once after eating in restaurants & once after eating cottage cheese. Apparently, I can't go rogue or I'll pay for it. Regardless - 13 lbs!!! I'm pretty excited and a little scared of P3. I've pretty much decided to go 30 days on VLCD (drops) b/c I've read that it helps you stablize. I don't expect great losses in that time - although I'd love to get to 130 before P3 - but I definitely DO NOT want to gain this weight back. I have a friend who's done this diet twice, and lost the same weight twice, and gained it back twice. No thanks - that is not for me! She went straight from P2 to eating anything she wanted including sugar and starch and regained 13+ lbs in less than 2 weeks. I think she really regrets not sticking with the maintanence part.

Anybody have a P3 plan? How long do you plan to stay on P2?

LYNDA- you take the weight on the Last Dosing Day. so not the day you start P3 eating. WAYTO GO on 121. thats awsome and so motivating

MELISSA- welcome and congrats on your loss. i'm staying on P2 for 21 days. so next monday i'll stop dosing and then on wednesday I start P3. i normally eat P3 as my insulin is bad and i'm very carb sensitive. even eating apples bothers me which is why i stick to strawberries only and when I move to P3 i'm going to go back to limiting my fruits a lot. i just miss FATS. i can't wait for wine and FAT LOL but i have NO intention on gaining any weight back.

i want to do another round at the end of the summer. maybe even july but i'l see my schedule of events

Oh my gosh, you ladies are soooo awesome!

DETERMINED, thank you for your encouraging words and pointing out that 6 pounds is still pretty good. Sometimes it's nice to just hear someone say "you're doing fine!" To answer your question about the measurements...I have been measuring and the ONLY place I have lost is my (drum roll please) boobs! I was barely passing a B cup, pretty soon I'll have to borrow my daughters training bras, lol! Other than that the only spot that lost half an inch is right at my belly button, and I chalk that up to little food content in my tummy. But hey, I'll take it!

JMOSERY & LYNDA, Thank you both so much for suggesting I check my calories per day!!!! Holy heck! I did the math and I am just barely touching 320 calories per day, sometimes maybe less. Ugh! I guess I've been a little stingy with my food portions thinking I was going to do this right. Little did I know that that could be whats hurting me. I have to tell you though I increased my cucumber serving to 220 grams today, and I couldn't even get it down! Never knew what an anorexic felt like, well now I know. So I think I might have to spread the veggie portions out through the day to get it all down. I already do that with my apple and orange. Oh and to answer your question, LYNDA...I do drink a ton of water, but not with lemon--I actually was afraid to add any calories. How funny is that?! JMOSERY, let me know how the 150 gram protein increase works for ya...I might need to consider that myself. Oh, and I too soooo miss my wine. Food is nothing, it's that evening glass (or many more) of wine. Laughing. I'm convinced my Irish liver is a bit confused these past few weeks!

MELG, You and I are about at the same stage of the game. Congratulations on a 13lb loss! I my gosh that's incredible! send me some of those fat melting vibes over here, lol!

SMARTYJONES, Hey I totally get your frustration (and crying in the tub moments). I am there with you on following to a T and...nothing! Except I just haven't been losing and I am on day 18. The fact that you have been losing and then stopped/gained is really strange. I'm no expert, but are you around your TOM? I hear that can cause stalls and gains. Are you hungry? possible HCG tolerance starting. Introduced a new fruit, tea, or supplement that you might be sensitive to causing water retention? Are you super close to your goal? All things you've probably considered...just thought I'd ask, because those are all things I've had to rule out myself. Turns out I might just not be eating enough! hopefully I can turn that around. Anyhow, I'm cheering for ya! I know how discouraging stalls and gains can be.

AFM, I cut out the yerba mate tea that I think was causing water retention and increased my green tea to three time a day, and.....I lost a pound over night!!! Yay! Day 15 VLCD and I'm finally down 7lbs! Pitiful number, but I'll take it! Beats the stall and gain I experienced the last two days, UGH! Now I just need to try and increase my veggie calorie intake and see if that pushes things along. Who'da thunk!

    Blessings,

    Erin

    Morning ladies

SHANNON- sorry for your frustrations. thats tough I have no clue to be honest as this is my first round. that would be tough for me too

ERIN- glad to help, hope the advice works

So I have an issue. i need to cut P2 short. My grandmother is coming from Israel and I have a ton going on this week and I just need the ability to eat out and honestly I have no desire to sit at restaurants all week and just not eat anything.

I might kick myself later but i'm going to stick to super clean eating. veggies and proteins only. add in some fats because i'm raelly weak and my workouts back in(which i haven't been doing) and see if I can maintain this weight

I know its not preferrable but i also can't think of another time in the next couple months where i'll be home for a full 3 weeks to do this. so going to do anther 2 week round in June and another in July.

hopefully these smaller rounds will help keep the weight off and take off another 10. i originally wanted to get to 110 but i think 120 is doable for now

so going to do P3 for the next 3 weeks and then do a 2 week round of P2 and then a three week round of P3 followed by 2 weeks of P2

its a bit rouge but i'm trying it out

Hi. I'm am new to this thread and thought I would chime in here. Smarty Jones if you are 5'10'' you think you might already be at a weight your body likes? (I know mine would be happy:-) Another reason for a plateau is that if your body has been use to a certain weight for a long time you could stall at that weight for as long as two weeks before breaking past that point. As for the gains, are you certain you are checking your seasonings? Make sure nothing in way of carbs, calories, sugars, etc.

as for me, I am on vlcd18 and down 13. Was hoping for a larger number at this point. This is my first time round. It is funny the days I feel fat I have a loss. The days I feel skinny, I stall. But I am determined to stick to this for the full 40 days.

From what I have read here, do you guys think it is important to get the full 500 calories? I didn't think it was. Why would fewer calories mean a gain or stall? Also I am trying to incorporate easy walking into my mornings = surely that has to speed up the weight loss right? I understand you can't work out hard but a nice walk for 20 -30 minutes would help burn fat yes?

    Happy Monday all!!!

I hope the scales were good to everyone this morning.

Jamie-Good luck on P3. There was a gal on here a while back that took a few p3 breaks due to things in her life beyound her control. And would go back on p2 within a week. It seemed to work for her. I hope you stabalize and keep us informed on how you are doing.

Erin-1lb gone YEAH! Thats just a start. You will be on your way again. I had to laugh at the only place you have lost weight. Only because that is where I would love to loose mine. I have been unfortunetly blessed. In my 30's they where c's (not bad) but then I hit my late 30's early 40's and the blossomed again..DD I am sure it was partly my weight gain. But they can go away any time now. LOL

SmartyJones-I don't think I have any advice in either. I guess I would have the same questions as Erin. When is TOM expected? Could you be immune? What is your BMI? I feel your frustration. All this work and the scales are not being nice. Have you taken your measurments? Are they moving even though the scale isn't?

MelG- 13 lbs in 18 days is not bad at all. I hate those stalls too. And I'm with you..I do not want to gain this weight back.

Determined20, Ducky and TNsweetness- How are you doing this week???

AFM- I thought I was having a wonderful weekend. I got a surprise Sat morning with 121 it was up slightly yesterday at 122. But I don't know what happend this morning. This was my last drop weight day too. I didn't eat a lot but only becuase my husband cooked some Morel mushrooms Sunday morning and I had to try 2 of them. I know so naughty but that is probably the biggest cheat I have ever done on this. They were small ones too and i soaked up all the butter that he had cooked them in. I had a chicken breast and cucumber for lunch and albacore and spinach for supper. I know it was way under calories but I had the mushrooms. Or could it be muscle water retention. I went for a 5 mile bike ride and also hiked some hilly areas with my 5 yr old on my shoulders (we were looking for those mushrooms) over the weekend. I am really bumbed about this. If it goes back down tomorrow I am going to stick with the 121 and if it don't I will go with what it says tomorrow. P3 is Wednesday not sure if I am ready for all the choices. Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

    Happy scales all!

Hello ladies....I think I just might fit in here if I may join you! Today is R6P2VLCD12 for me and as of this morning I am down 9.4 lbs with about 6 or so lbs to my goal. Not sure if I'll make it if the past few days are any indication! I stall, lose .1 and then maybe lose .5 but then stall again, etc etc...I think it's just because I'm close and I've been at this weight for a while a year or so ago. Hopefully I will get past it soon before my 23 days is up! I really don't want to go longer than that! I only have enough hcg to go 30 days, so we shall see what happens. Plus, I woke up with the start of a cold this morning, so that could slow me down even more...

Not feeling well, so I'm going to lie down for now...

    Good afternoon!

Welcome newbies...I myself am a newbie to this thread as well. You'll like it here.

JMOSERY I wish you luck on your short rounds! I would think with only 10 more pounds to go that it should go well. Summer is a hectic time to do a weight loss program as hard core as this one is...especially when you have loved ones coming for Israel! That's kind of a big deal. Unfortunately, summer is also the season we uncover ourselves and actually want to have our weight down. Funny how that works.

LYNDA I would love for you to share some! Maybe I'm just a late bloomer (giggle-snort!) Sorry to hear about your weight fluctuation...that's rough when you are in the home stretch, wanting to end on a loss. Ahhhh, P3 starting Wed., I can't wait! Yet, I totally hear you on nervous about all the choices. P2 gets boring, but it is easy in that you don't have to think too much about what you're going to eat every day. Please keep us updated on your transition to P3!!! I totally want to hear how it goes for you. I see you're in Wisconsin...we have a cabin in Winchester WI. Going up there this weekend for Memorial Day. Hope it's good weather!

MELG- 13lbs in 18 days!!!! whoa baby! you're rocking it! I was going to do the 23day round, but i'm on day 16vlcd and only down 7lbs...so 35+ round it is. But that's okay--I think of all those that have 100+lbs to lose and it humbles me.

AFM- Well I had a .2lb loss this morning! I know nothing earth shattering, but it's a loss right! I really think cutting out the Yerba Mate was a good thing, it was making me puffy. I am trying to increase my veggies, but I can't hardly get it down! I don't mix veggies in one meal so there is only so much celery, cucumber, or spinich I can choke down in one sitting. And i don't do the melba, so how are you all getting all those veggies in? Also, do you all really weigh your meats before cooking? I don't. I just weigh it cooked and do only about 3.2 oz. Is that alright, or could that slow my losses? And can I spread my veggies throughout the day?

    Thanks all,

    ERin
