Hi Jayk, I have a plastic cast cover that has a rubber seal to my leg, and a hand-held sprayer. But I can't stand on one leg long enough for a shower. I have a bath seat coming, then I'll be able to sit and spray and feel a lot cleaner! I wish somebody had given me a list of useful things, I have been buying useful stuff bit by bit.
I see my Dr today, hoping there's progress. It's been 2 weeks since surgery.

    P4D5 LIW+1

Been riding the top of my P3 window all week but today it finally dropped, and even a bit more, but I rounded up. It keeps me saner about the scale. I don't round down at top of window, though, to keep that a hard red line.

Im resisting raising LIW, so that pound drop is encouraging. All the more because I had 4 small gold potatoes with dinner yesterday. I have been having some my safe, friendly starches, Ezekiel sprouted and plantain chips and all kinds of fruit, but potatoes are a test for me. So celebrating no LIW raise for me just yet.

I remember the ick of not being able to bath when ankle was healing. (it looks like lots of us have that story!) I do a nightly bath, so when I can't I really miss it. I consider it my reward for getting through the day. ^_^

P4 Last Day of Month 2

SEE! SEE how much other @%^# we have to deal with on a moment to moment basis and then we are supposed to eat this and not that on top of it? LOL. We are superheroes!

Rose, are you posting on your phone on Tapatalk? Is that the app you keep losing on? I can't even get on that anymore. However, you can use your phone browser to pull up the internet site, sign in and post there. It is just like posting on your laptop or desktop, only...teenier. You can pull it larger to some extent. Maybe less stressful. Or type in your Notes app and the copy and paste. If it disappears, you can copy and paste again!

Gig, I am mad at your drs office. Mine sends me home every time with pages and pages of stuff I need for every contingency. Yours surely had not only a list of stuff you need to take care of yourself but should have been giving you names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, etc. where you could get things like a shower chair, especially the places that serve, let's say, us under funded folks. ESPECIALLY if you live alone. They should have been asking, do you have someone to help you at home?

Keep on keeping on every buddy. I am down a blazing point 2. I had every indication that inflammation was leaving me so was almost shocked that I did not have a major woosh. Oh well. JEANS FIT. So there.

    Onward!

Thank you, PearlyMae - of course they asked if I had help, in fact that's why they kept me in hospital three days instead of outpatient surgery. I have collected up what I need now, but you are right, they could have helped more. Fortunately my Lyft drivers have all helped me in / out / up and the hospital has wheelchairs and people to push you where you need to go. Again, better than the outpatient surgery center.
I got my cast off and stitches removed today, I'm supposedly doing well. Got a really stylish (/sarc) boot instead. I finally was able to wash my foot and moisturize my skin - now I'm resting bootless, waiting for pain meds to kick in. The boot presses differently, and my knee still hurts; of course the Dr had to flex and prod to check me out.

Oooooh Leez, I'm envious. No baths for awhile for me. But now that I got the cast off I'm good to take a shower using a bath chair, which will be a relief.

Okay, been out of touch for a little bit and been reading the summaries to try to keep up, but you're a very prolific, informed and active bunch, hurrah!

Gjg, so glad you got your cast off and stitches out. It must feel so liberating, even with a 'beautiful' boot. I can imagine you sighing as the warm water showered away some of the initial stress, etc.
PearlyMae, that's great that you're fitting your clothes and feeling the inflammation go down. Sometimes that's all it takes to make me feel on top of the world. BTW, do we move to the March thread then?
Leez, I now only weigh myself twice a week -- Tuesdays to give myself a break from the usual Monday grind, and Fridays before the weekend. I found that the scale did the same end game and I didn't get so obsessed with the fluctuations. For instance, last weekend we had dinner with friends before they move away, and he's a very good winemaker. We ate lasagne, I had two 3oz pours of great wine, some garlic bread and shared some homemade cheesecake with my husband. I had a stomach ache from all the richness, but was at my normal P3 weight by the time I weighed on Tuesday. This may not work for everyone, but the anxiety over the every day weighing and doing incremental strategies made very little difference if I managed to stay OP before and after. Has anyone else tried this and found the same?
Jayk, I think you're the one with the new job? Sounds like you're acclimating well, although you're dealing with schedule changes, which must be challenging.
Rose, I'm not sure I've caught up on all your news, but I'm looking forward to it.
Apologies if I've missed anyone else.

As for me, we learned another of our beloved dogs has a cancerous tumor. We just put her daughter down in November for something similar. Large breed dogs seem to get this a lot. (They're Anatolian Shepherds that guard our property.) It doesn't look good, but this time she may have something a little more treatable, but it's progressing quickly. We are shocked and so saddened. I really wanted to have a 'snort of something' last night (my Dad's old saying), but redirected my focus and finally the urge passed. Today, I didn't want to eat much at all, but made myself go thru those motions. It's like losing another family member.

I get inspiration and motivation from reading all your posts, so thank you! I've got one more week of P3, then onto 3 weeks of P4, then my last round, (I hope!!). I'm really trying to pay attention to stabilizing and then maintaining, planning to cautiously add in certain foods for the three weeks of P4. That's the scariest phase for me, yikes!

Hope everyone has a good Friday and more progress on all things for each of you.

Oh that's good you have a bath seat. I honestly don't remember how I did it, but I showered lol. I couldn't stand either, so not sure If I put my leg on something or what haha.

Leez, glad your doing so well in P4, it is so nice when things work smoothly.

PearlyMae yes we are superhero's lol. Having to worry about what you eat is stressing enough. This time around I haven't given in to eating poorly yet. I think about it and just make a choice to eat healthy, even during my stressful times. I made sure to have healthy snack choices in the house when I haven't had time to cook.

zootalore, good to hear from you. I didn't weigh at all this time around, but have done it weekly before. When I first started I did it daily and didn't like it. I think do what works for you. Sorry to hear about your dog. They definitely are family, so it's hard to lose one for sure.

    Rose, congrats on your loss.

We got a bit of snow tonight and turning colder for a few days again. But it's been a good winter so far.

I need a little help, please. I am at a plateau / stall and don't remember what to do. I have just got to drop it fast! I will have opinionated eyes in the second week of May. I've only dropped 13 after 33 injections. I have been under a LOT of stress, but mostly controlled the cheat urges - a little nibble here or there but DANG that's all it takes to stop the losses! I'm resting (no injections) one day a week because I want to go as long as possible before the big date. My start date was 2.5.24. Please remind an ole' soul what to do for a stall. Blessings

If you would like some help troubleshooting, please post on the March 2024 loaders thread. Its a little quieter thread and your post won't be buried there. First we have to determine if you are really in a stall. [four days with no downward loss] and then we can get some info on what you have been doing and make some suggestions based on that. There is no real remedy for a stall, but there are some things you can do to help your body get past it, like detox baths and getting quality sleep. You are correct that stress can be an issue.
