    Another plug for compression garments

Pearly - that is crazy! Good catch. My favorite thing to do with scammers is try to hook them into thinking I've bought into their nonsense. The pause and click when they realize they've been had is so satisfying. Almost as satisfying as Nachos 😂

G - I didn't know they could be frozen without losing potency! I lost another lb overnight yesterday... so if I'm getting a second wind after a week of less than half pound per day losses, I might push on and go for as long as I can until my cycle starts. I'm 12.5 lbs away from my soft goal of 155. Aka, finally being able to fit back into all of my favorite clothing!

Leez - the squish factor is legit. Hope it's the sign of good things to come! I've always treated the end of a round of injections like I'm postpartum. Hence, the compression garments and girdle and daily light fascial massage/manipulation. Have you done that in the past?

    P4 Month 2

What a roller coaster day yesterday! I am up Point 6, but thankfully still below LIW, just in the next pound so need to be careful today.

My nephew came to stay overnight but got out of class at 3 instead of his usual arrival for suppertime, and I still had a LOT of work to do for my client as they got everything to me a day late. Usually I get it all done on Monday's and maybe some last minute additions on Tuesday mornings, as it needs approval before sending on Wednesdays. But my nephew was upset because I was not paying attention to him and at the same time I HAD to get the work done by 5 for approval process. He even called his Mom to complain and say he wanted to go home. Ha, since I was the one who would have had to take him home, he was out of luck there! I finally got enough done so I could stop at around 5:15. I had to work on a second version, in Spanish, after he went to bed.

All this to say, I was stressed and next thing I know I am eating the last two shortbread cookies out of the back of the pantry. I ordered him Pizza to make up for 'ignoring him' and got Dominoes plain wings for me. Eh. Pretty sure they were the culprit.

You may think a kid who is turning 20 was pretty spoiled to make such a fuss, but he is a special needs kiddo, and yes, we do spoil him with attention. He is just smart enough that he does not identify with the other special needs kids, but just 'special' enough that typical kids say hello and smile, but but are not interested in him as a friend. I'm kinda his best friend.

He also was tired, which makes him grumpy in the best of times and after calling his Mom, he fell asleep. His mom is my baby sister and talked him down off the wall and did not give in to his demands. But! Stressed me. I KNOW that is a trigger and I KNOW that it made me go looking for cookies that I have ignored for weeks, and order fast food. As the song goes about finding a peanut on the sidewalk, ATE IT ANYWAY.

So, now I have to take a deep breath and try to get back on track. Grrrr. I know it was not a real crisis, just grump on one side and too short a time to get things done properly on the other, but I saw a trigger and still let it get to me. Well, there are NO MORE cookies in the house, so THAT trigger won't get me again any time soon.

    It's the little things, right?

    Onward!

P3D4 Still holding onto my 2 pound cushion. That's never happened before, so not sure how to act. I'll just enjoy it while it lasts. Im probably not getting enough calories yet, but I came closer yesterday. Almost there.

Its hard to believe the difference in my torso that's happened since the end of the round. Any reshaping has always happened for me towards the end of P3, not the beginning.

Flax granola is doing its thing, and all systems moving along nicely. We are getting some springish days with sunshine and warmer weather right now. I'm going to try to get out for a walk soon and test out my new personal air purifier next time its not breezy.

Great catch on the scam PearlyMae. I am same, very computer literate and knowledgeable. But when looking for a new place last October, I came across a scammer . I caught on when they said they couldn't meet me to hand over the keys, and if I could just send them money. The scammers are everywhere. Their rental price was just too good to be true too. That was another sign.

Don't be hard on yourself about the cookies. It's over and all you can do is just try again. It can be a struggle trying to get your work done, plus looing after someone. But I definitely get the triggers. I have them myself. I let myself get stressed over family situations etc. I am so dedicated in P2 and could ignore everything. Yet once off that phase and into P4 I am not sure why I let it happen. I have been okay this time around, but believe me I understand. I just have to handle stresses better I guess, but it's not as easy as writing it out lol.

I got my fingerprint check back today, so have sent it in. Should find out tomorrow when I start the new job. Yay.. I am excited about that, but a bit stressed about leaving the other job lol. But I will handle it fine I am sure. In their contract it says they can let me go without reason in the first 90 days, so I guess I can let them go just as easy lol.
They are a nice bunch of people, so will do my best to make it easy. They never did pay me what I wanted, and they now know I am very smart and can do their job easy, so I think it's on them that they should have offered me more. It's life, and people move on.
I just need to not be hard on myself for leaving them and feel happy to be starting a better job. ( I am though) but always second guess myself sometimes.

That's great Leez, that you are in your 2lb cushion and getting reshaping early. So happy for everyone and their success
Do you make your own Flax granola? Or buy it somewhere. I am sure we discussed this along time ago, but I have forgot.

    P3D5. LIW -1 today.
Scale up a bit today after a couple of days of enough calories. I have to fight the mental battle that if I eat enough I will start gaining everything back. Even after more than 10 rounds, and knowing I can trust the process, those thoughts still have to be dealt with. Our programming goes so deep.

Flax granola: yes I make my own from the Lynn-Ginet Plan book recipe and crisp it in a dehydrator. It stays nice and crunchy in almond milk and is a satisfying low-carb breakfast.

My adapted half recipe for P3 is
    2-1/2 C. whole golden flaxseed,
    1 T. cinnamon,
    1 tsp black strap molasses,
1-1/4 C hot water. (You can add sweetener if you like, but I don't. A handful of blueberries adds plenty of sweet.)

Stir till gels, refrigerate overnight, spread thin, then either bake in 20 min intervals at 275 degrees, or dehydrate until crisp and you can break it up. The half recipe makes about a weeks+ worth of breakfasts, and by then I'm tired of it, so seldom do a whole recipe. The adaptation for P3 is to use a small amount of blackstrap molasses in place of the larger quantity of regular molasses (still only 1 T. for the half recipe) in the original recipe.

Good luck in your new job, Jayk.

    P4 Month 2

Thank you, Jayk. I was disappointed in myself for giving in to a little tiny stress situation but at least I didn't go full potato chip family sized bag! I am lucky that I can shop only for me and as long as I don't go to the store stressed, I can keep my shelves stocked appropriately.

I am still struggling with my rates for my client. I should raise them more than just the cost of living rises for the past SEVEN years, which is 25%, but it is hard to do even that, as I should have been raising it annually and it feels tough to hit them all at once with 7 years of increase. However, that percentage isn't even in the ballpark of I should be getting. And now they want a bid for putting everything on retainer, with some more work that may or may not be coming my way. That number will blow their socks off.

The only reason I haven't raised rates before this is every time I mentioned it to my primary contact, she acted like she was going to have a stroke right that second. I took this to mean either they were operating on a shoestring and really could not handle the bump, or --her husband who is the boss would let me go if I did. Those are both imaginary scenarios, based on my parents' business long ago, that was always on the cusp of going under and my Mom protecting people from my Dad's rash decisions.

Hmmmmm. I just figured that out.

NOT diet stuff, but boy, thank you for giving me a space to think that through. It IS diet stuff because I have been Big Time Stressing from it. My sister who was an international hot shot for some major movie studios says Go Big! My other sister who does piano lessons in a town of 4000 people says she raised her rates by $5 and everybody complained but paid, and my brother, who is a fearful person, said Don't raise them at all, they will fire you.

Boy, a dozen Krispy Kremes would not really help, but if I were not on this forum,.... the idea hovers.

I AM down .4 of the .6 up, so there's that! Back in the pound I love the best and under LIW. Now that's a promotion!

Well, hello to some familiar names and not so familiar names.
Pearly, I quote you so much after all these years. "onward".

I am reading up and getting set to do a round as it's been a number of years since my last.

Quick background... First round at age 42. Lost 40ish pounds and kept that off for three or so years, with rounds. Transitioned to primal, keto and kept, I'm guessing, 30 of those pounds off until a year ago.
I am 57 now. 178 days since last TOM, full fledge in menopause and it kicked my tush last summer.
In a matter of weeks to months my midsection grew 4", hips and thighs 3". Absolutely nothing I did made a dent. I went to my obgyn and we started hrt in October with prempro, but switched to estradiol patches end of November. I am feeling better, not quite there but we are working with dosage.
I managed to drop 3" midsection once hrt started, but only 1" hip and thighs.
I am wondering if anyone here has had the experience of hrt with hcg and or hrt during menopause?
I want to give my body the space to handle the hcg while menopausal and plot a course ahead.

Ask me questions if you like. I am an open book, especially about menopause.

Brick! Delighted to see you! Missed you all these years, but glad you did NOT have to do round after round, so if you were doing ok, it is fine that you were not here, but you are remembered.

I do bio-identical hormone replacement and extra thyroid meds after struggling to feel ALIVE the first year of Menopause. Now I think they have phases you can check out to know more. I did not do hcg until about a year after starting hormones (not replacement, actual hormones from natural sources--estradiol, estrace, testosterone and progesterone. All the testing on hrt that scared everyone off of it was done with Premarin, using a substance from pregnant horse urine to REPLACE the estragon you are not producing yourself. Hence the R in hrt. The animal cruelty was the first thing that made me switch but then I worked at a compounding pharmacy and learned more about the testing.) But I have never gone off hormones while on hcg. I didn't know about hcg when I first started Woman-OH!-Pause.

I have heard (thank you Leez) that hcg needs to be out of your system at least 6 weeks before blood tests so they don't get messed up, especially thyroid.

BTW, your son was trying hcg years ago. Did it help him?

    Welcome aboard and

    Onward!

    Pearly!

Hrt. Going from absolutely nothing to prempro, helped, but there was this low level blah depression and still nightly hot flashes. After a month I asked to switch to estradiol patch and progesterone at night. With in 48 hours it was like night and day. I am about to start my 9th week with patches and still dealing with hot flashes, less amount and less intensity. I'll probably end up with a higher dose after next month.

I feel so much better emotionally and physically, aside the misshape that menopause brings. I'm trying to gage if starting hcg now or after next month or it doesn't matter, as how it will affect my menopausal symptoms on the current dose. I am also so ready to feel a bit more in control of my changing body.

I am trying to learn about my menopausal body's changing needs, how I and what I need nutrition wise and get on a healthy path. Mostly I don't want the hcg to work against the hrt.

My obgyn is not the blood test type. She prescribes based on my reported symptoms. I'm not worried about the hcg and blood tests. Again, mostly I don't want to interfere with getting the right dose hrt and symptoms wise.
And yes, those early 2000 tests and the hrt usage drop has since been debunked. My doc is a big advocate of the multiple health benefits of hrt, blood pressure, cholesterol, aging brain, arthritis... The list is endless.

Youngest son, yes, he did use the hcg and had phenomenal success. Mostly he learned he is definitely gluten intolerant, has some skin issues that a low dose antibiotic helps with. He has the tools now for better health, it's up to him to apply it.

My third son had testicular cancer last year. So... That was a bit stressful. Actually exactly one year ago this month. He was in the police academy when it was discovered and went thru surgery and completed the academy. My two oldest boys are married and we have a granddaughter now. Daughter is traveling back and forth to England with her boyfriend. All but the youngest have completed college education, the youngest still in classes. Life moves on and grows amazing people.

If I read correctly, you waited a year after hrt to do a round? May I ask why? Your experience would be helpful.

    P
Your doing well Pearly. And yes it is good you just shop for yourself. Best way to keep temptations away. That is stressful too about your rates. Hard to know what is the right thing to do. But definitely you have to increase them just to keep up. Most people understand this these days.

Thank you Leez. I start Monday. Did all my onboarding today or what was required of me. I quit the other place today. I needed some time to get some things done, and my boss there was complaining about my attendance. So easy out for me. It was not my fault my back went, as I am sure it was from lifting something at work last Friday. And he knew of my husbands condition, and that sometimes I can't control that and have to leave work.
Anyhoo it has all worked out, and looking forward to it.

Thanks I remember that recipe now, and actually did make it years ago. I had forgot about that. I remember mine not turning out so well as I don't have a dehydrator like you. But I may try it again.

    Welcome back Brick.

I've had it come out well doing the baking method. Its just a pain to keep turning it and watching it until you can peel it away from the parchment paper. It takes a way lot longer than the recipe suggests its should before it really dries out. Fruit leather trays in the dehydrator is so much easier.
