Just a quickie; I'm up 1.4! Yesterday .8 and today 1.4? Yikes. It's almost like I have no control over my weight. Uh huh. I did not eat anything wrong at all. (Still no Lindt chocolates!) and not sure I could be reacting to something as nothing new or unusual. Still, I'll dial it back. Track the water and water-type substances (I'm big on Refresh Ice Lemonade flavored sparkling water)I don't mind if I don't go back down, but I definitely do not want to continue UP.

Lots of housework done over the weekend, and that feels good. I have a list for the handyman now. Cleaning shows ya what needs repair!

I ordered a new, upgraded computer from my IT guy --he built my current one and upgraded it a few times but it is 8 yrs old, which is 90 in computer years. Spending my tax refund and some interest on an account and getting a new ergonomic key board and much bigger screens. Woo hoo. I usually type messages here on my laptop in the kitchen, tho. Once I get seated at my desk, I am there for the day, so I avoid it until I have to go there.

I can't think of a single thing I want for breakfast. So I will make myself an egg anyway so I don't find myself swooning by 10 a.m.

    Onward!

Your a busy lady PearlyMae. P4 is like a yoyo, so hard sometimes to know what is the right thing to do. But there is lots of good tips from everyone. Congrats on new computer. I had just bought myself a high end laptop. My computer also is outdated. But I am still deciding to get a new one, or just stick now with the laptop.

Didn't weigh yesterday because I get up and moving much earlier on Sundays than the rest of the week. So todays weigh in shows me holding at LIW +1. That's a relief. (Down is better of course, but not going up once a big rise starts in P3 for me is huge.) Continuing--just barely admittedly--with getting all my water in, and today decided to take a look at my protein levels. What I found was I am inadequate there. I have been barely getting 20 per meal. So my new strategy is to aim for 30gm protein per meal. I came close with todays breakfast, but had to add some collagen to my tea to get me there. (in retrospect, should have had some bacon!) So it appears I have been undereating, even though it seemed like I was not because of fat satiation. You would think I would know better by now....sheesh. Hopefully, there is time to fix this and end up at a solid LIW by the end of the week.

Pearlie, I was the same this morning. Nothing sounded good except eggs and toast. Toast is out for now, but I'm good with small amounts of almonds in P3, so I made one of your almond flour muffins and toasted half of it with my poached eggs. It was quite nice, even with 1 T of the flour replaced with oat fiber. I'll enjoy the other half tomorrow.

That darn water level can cause such scale havoc! Sometimes I think humidity even affects how much water we are retaining. So we can literally gain numbers because of the AIR. The inflammation thing is also usually beyond our control. It can pop up from so many sources that it can be impossible to identify.

Congrats on the new computer! Mine is going on 9 years now and I need to be thinking about replacement. I can't even run Windows 11 on this one. My video card has started to glitch once in a while too, so another sign. For now, it comes right back after a blackout, but I have to restart Windows Explorer to get rid of the ugly black text shadows on my desktop. Doing regular backups, just in case.

Jayk...I love the good girl moonshine, but only in the summer. I just can't make myself drink anything cold in winter. My favorite version uses hibiscus tea as a base (such a beautiful ruby red!) and the regular ginger juice and ACV, with my favorite sweetener with a bit of mineral salt. I'm liking allulose more and more and finding out that it actually has some benefits for metabolism that other sweeteners don't.

During P2 this time, I did drink a lot of hot hibiscus tea with lemon and sweetener. It was a nice sweet treat in the evenings. You could spice it too, for more of a "spiced wine" kind of flavor.
Good job on figuring out the protein Leez. I know it's so hard sometimes to get the ratio correct. This is why I like my bone broth and collagen, and sometimes I have protein drinks. I love that Hibiscus tea. Just started that last summer as I found a recipe for Starbucks pink drink, but healthy one

    https://drkellyann.com/en-ca/blogs/r...cat-pink-drink

Yes summer time is best for this and the good girl moonshine drink. That's when I love them.
I was going to ask what brand of Dehydrator you have, or what you might recommend? I am thinking of getting one.

Fingers crossed! (We love our property, but hubby needs to retire soon!!)

Anyway, I try to keep up with all of your posts. I, too, have been struggling with undereating in P3. Thank you, Gjg, for the entry on how much protein we can tolerate at each meal. Very informative. I'm partly afraid of going off the rails, especially since I'm not a very good cook and we've been holed up at home so much from the weather that I think we're very bored, too. Living as if we don't live here is such a strange mindset, too. Just ready to either move on one way or another, sigh...

I have been maintaining as far as I can tell. I learned in past rounds that I cannot weigh every day. It's too much for me to micro-focus on, so I weigh twice a week. Didn't seem to make much difference in the measurements whether I did or waited. Anyway, P3 is still so new to me that I'm still trying to figure out what my body wants. The meal plan I was following had too much of a focus on sweets and carbs first thing in the morning. I now know I do best with some coffee (with collagen/protein and maybe a bullet coffee) and an apple. I'm not that hungry and don't want to take a nap right after I eat brekkie, lol. I tried a chia seed pudding and it sent me right to sleep afterwards. Scary how telling food becomes when I've been eating so clean.

I didn't quite lose the 20# I was aiming for in the last round, but got close enough with 17.8#; it's the best I've done in a round. I'd like to get close to that in R2 so that I only do two rounds. I'll work on the last 5+#s after that with working to get my metabolism up.

Jayk - I hope your husband's feeling a bit better and that you're near the end of the antibiotics.
Gjg - Hope your knee is feeling better. I missed that you'll need surgery? When is that?
Leez - Thx for your updates - it's so good to have multiple perspectives on what everyone is going through. I also use allulose and am thankful that it's so easy to use and can be less sweet in things.
Mermaid - How was your trip? I don't ski but I'm envious of how exciting it sounds!
Pearlie - Thx for the water discussion. I agree with y'all - much harder to keep up with in winter. Sometimes I add some rose water and it helps me drink more. (I know some don't like it at all!)
For any I've missed, it's difficult to keep up with everyone's updates! Y'all are so good in sharing what's working, what's not and potentially why to both!!
Thanks zootalore. We are hanging in there. Soon done with those Antibiotics and yes he is doing better. Glad your doing okay in P3 and good luck on your house. Congrats on your losses.

Pearlie the weather has been a treat lately a tad chilly in the 30s this weekend but beautiful blue skies. At my first full week and thankfully no cravings. Recently I purchased an air fryer and it has been a game changer so blessed to have such versatility.

Wishing you all success and a very happy week.
Hi SweetPea, congrats on your full week in. I have an airfryer coming too , can't wait to finally have one.

Well, I'm up another .6! It's what I get for trying to tell other people what to do! Oh the humanity!

Yesterday, I could have sworn I was coming down with a cold or 'something'. These days one never knows! No sore throat or sniffy nose but suddenly so tired. I mean so achy grouchy for no good reason tired. I tried twice to take a 15 minute nap but got so many emails and texts from my client I gave up both times.

Had ONE chocolate. Seemed appropriate. Also had some Tuaca in my Reduced Calorie Hot Cocoa. Took some of the ache away but went to bed early and zonked out quick.

Today, no cold. So far. Not sure it was my imagination or I fought it off, but I seem okay today. Still a tad tired but not like yesterday.

So now I am the one checking my water---and yes, I will drink REAL water some today. I rely on sparkling water way too much. I will get in just protein and fats today --no tomatoes, easy on the cheese-- and eat even if I don't want to. Snacking on nuts or a couple slices of cheese and some olives is not cutting it.

I shoulda taken an hot bath with baking soda and Epson salts to help with all those aches last night but was afraid I'd drown. Or not be able to get out of the bathtub and have to sleep there.

This feels like a reaction to something but can't think what it could be. I even took all of the cashews out of my mixed nuts and started mixing my own with pecans, a few macadamia nuts and almonds and an occasional dark chocolate chip. Soothes me when I am stressed, but I will be putting those in the pantry for a couple of days.

    Grrr. The Adventure continues.

Glad you fought whatever it was off PearlyMae. This is where I like taking the David's Tea 911. Works for me. But whatever you did worked too haha.

That means a drop of half a pound. Yay, finally a non-forced drop--and only 3 more official P3 days to go. Time for a shopping trip soon. I'm planning to enjoy a sunny 70 degree day in the midwest. What a gift to get days like this in February. It goes a long way toward making the long, seemingly endless winter bearable.

I don't expect I'll get back to LIW, as that last pound didn't drop off till the last injection day, so I'm being as happy as I can about where I am. Which of course, goes a long way toward being peaceful. The whole HCG process does clean up your food choices a lot, so that may help me going forward.

Good morning, all - rainy day with cats, coffee, icepacks, and my ankle "elevated above my heart". I'm still sleeping on the couch as it helps me keep my leg on the shaped cushion and elevated.
While in hospital, I asked for an A1c test and was dismayed it is 5.6, which is the top of normal. I need to analyze my diet and figure out why it is so high.
Meanwhile, I have my knee scooter and I'm getting around in the house much better than with those d#$%@d crutches. I have figured out how to carry ingredients and finished meals, so I'm eating well. Two weeks until I get the cast off and a boot instead, and 8 to 10 weeks after that, before I will be allowed to drive.

Hi All. Working afternoon shift and it's great so far

Leez, I was going to ask what brand of Dehydrator you have, or what you might recommend? I am thinking of getting one. I asked in the earlier post, but you may have not seen that. Lucky you for 70's temperatures. I am jealous.
We have had a good winter here though as well. Was quite warm all week.

Glad your doing okay gz9gjg and getting around okay. Sorry it will still be awhile for you to be back to normal. Sounds like a nice day to have a rainy day. I am looking forward to the weekend already lol.
I just want to sleep in a bit or get back to having a good sleep. I keep waking up through the night on the hour almost. It's terrible.

This weekend I need to do a shopping trip and try and get back on track. With this new job and my husband in the hospital I feel like I am not eating properly. I haven't ate things I shouldn't, but just not on time etc.

    Hey all! Hi Rose!

I did not weigh yesterday and was not going to today, but the pull of the TESS is strong, Grasshopper. But I am down some, so sigh of relief.
Tuesday and Wednesday I had huge fast food hamburgers. The first I took off the bun and ate with knife and fork. Oh. My. I must have been a little light on protein lately, as that was an almost religious experience. Yesterday, long day, finished off most of my LIGHT breakfast at 4 pm and never even got a chance to think about lunch. So I stopped at Carl's at almost 6 and got a lettuce wrapped version of their big, nothing much on it, burger. I swear, it saved my life. I couldn't even make it home. I had to have a bite at a stoplight...twice.

And down .6? Yes, gotta get that protein in.

My new assignments have been, not stressful, but....hectic. I sort of started last Thursday and have worked almost 40 hours. In a week. I am NOT full time. My retainer was estimated on 40-45 hours a MONTH. As a free-lance contractor, it takes 2-3 hours to bill one. That is because ya can't bill for sitting at your desk WAITING for people to get back to you. But you can't really go anywhere either, in case they call, text, email. Cuz when they do, they are gonna want the changes done 20 minutes ago. I had four different projects on hold but over due all at once, so LOTS of doing waiting redoing waiting revisions waiting calling new info change old info ..... you get the idea!

Unusual week, I think. It better be! Website was down, email was all going to junk folders. IT guy was skiing. Big boss traveling. Two events without final info so they can be promoted and way past deadline. Good grief. I know my contact bounces from one crisis to another, so I am used to frantic last minute additions and changes, etc. But this was a little overload.

Anyway, deep breath. EAt my protein!

    ONward!

Yes, eat the protein! It encouraging to see that that works when you do it right. Protein has been my mantra the last few days. I have to remember to eat some of the other things too, because I don't want to get into no carbs mode, or I won't be able to keep my water levels somewhat normal. Oddly, I'm not feeling sick and weak on the high protein days like I have in the past. Thankful for that.

Sorry I missed your dehydrator question, Jayk. I actually did see it, and then got distracted before I could answer. Glad you asked it again.
I have one of those round Nesco dehydrators. Very simple non-digital version with a dial control that comes with 5 trays. That has been very adequate for my uses, but I did buy an extra set of mesh and fruit roll trays and often use all of whatever one I'm needing. I actually made a batch of the flaxseed granola last night and ran the dehydrator on my closed in back porch room. It smelled heavenly this morning. Had some with some giant blueberries for breakfast.

Yikes. Hate when you are a tenth of a pound away from needing a steak day. Keeping mostly high protein today and will have a very light protein dinner, probably bone broth with some chicken tender chunks cooked into it, and maybe some egg drop noodles if it seems appealing at the time. 2 days left in official P3. Will I make it without another steak day? Ah...the suspense! Unless I just decide to stay off the scale and go with whatever happens. (a distinct possibility at this point)

Gawd, a burger would be HEAVENLY. I'm trapped at home except for absolutely neccessary outings because I can't yet do steps easily. I have cut back on the pain pills, no longer counting the minutes till the next one. Today my neighbor brought me baked chicken, yummy! Meanwhile, I have plenty of food in the house and it's tasty, but it's not A STEAK. Or A BURGER. (No, I'm not going to get into the Doordash habit. I'm on a fixed income and it's just not practical.)

Yay, no steak day for me today. Relieved to have dropped back that pound and planning breakfast. But a steak really does sound good to me too. May have to go out and find one. Glad your pain levels are down, gz.

I've been enjoying lamb burgers lately. They are very juicy and I love topping them with a blend of pickled yellow banana peppers and fresh garlic in olive oil.

In thinking about this P3 which is almost over, I'm postulating that I have had this final week water swing because I didn't really have any long stalls in my short P2 (25 days) and my water stores didn't shift until later in P3. No way to know for sure, but seems possible. Grammy always said that if you have a long stall in your P2, you are more likely have a stable P3. (that and extending rounds to at least 30 days)

So it has become rather obvious that I can't NOT weigh..... I guess I'm just one of those that "has to know". After tomorrow, though, I'm going to try to detach myself from daily weighing again. Its just too stressful.

Thanks for the information on the dehydrator. I bet that smelled good in the morning. I can't wait to get one and make things. That and my air fryer. My daughter ordered the wonder oven, so hope it is good.
I am glad you didn't have to do a steak day Leez. I have never had a lamb burger , but glad you enjoy them.

A burger does sound good or steak. I haven't had either in awhile.

Glad your pain levels are getting down. I broke my ankle in two places years ago. I was lucky it stayed in place so no surgery. But the pain was there for sure. I wore a non weight bearing cast for 4 months. Then the recovery and walking again. Was very strange for awhile.

Been a long week, glad it's Friday, and no more Antibiotics for my husband.

It's sunny out today, but windy. I will take it anyway lol.

PearlyMae you have had a busy week too. Hope it all sorts out soon for you.

    Last P3 report!

    P3D21 LIW +1

Wishful thinking goals: I had hoped to lose 14, thought I would probably lose 12. I DID lose 14, and am ending up with a 13 pound loss after finishing P3.

Scale recap: first week under LIW, next two weeks floating around in the upper window, one steak day. I'm pleased with only one steak day on P2D12 after a shorter round (25 injections) to finish at LIW+1. Especially since a whole pound was lost the morning of the last injection day. So today is celebration and happy dancing with my cat, tomorrow I have a lunch date with church friends but will not make any crazy menu choices. The most I might venture away from P3 is a bite or two of black beans if we end up at a mexican restaurant. My normal order there would be without tortillas, chips or rice, so pretty much normal.

Jayk, I don't use my dehydrator a lot, but its great to have a round for odd things like the granola. Or when I had a major oversupply of onions and no freezer space. I just did a rough blender chop and dehydrated (in the detached garage!) and had dried onion bits that lasted for months. I also used it to make powdered liver for my raw catfood recipe. Another garage project-- especially since to keep it raw, it had to dehydrate for a couple days. Imagine the aroma if you did that in your house.

P4 Almost end of Month 2

Woohooo Leez! Kinda sounds like the rollercoaster I was on just right around 2 months ago! But you rolled home with the band playing and the cheerleaders jumping up and down. So glad for you.

gig, that knee scooter was a lifesaver when I broke the top of my foot. The boot was too heavy for my gangly little leg and I had sciatica big time from trying to swing it back and forth to walk. Much worse pain than the foot! So take it easy. It is not hard to load into the back of a car, either. I had just started a new job back then at a bank and it was sort of fun to roll around in the space bigger than my house. If you don't have room to roll around, learn to back up! LOL. It works.

Jayk, I am not busy. YOU are busy. New job, move, loving care of your husband etc.etc. That you did P2 during all of this is just a wonder!

I am back down below my Previous Goal Weight, so well under LIW. I do think I was fighting off a flu or some such as a few family members have been miserable with something sniffy and coughing. We all had flu shots so maybe that's why they recovered in a few days and I just shook it off! Probably not, but fun to think the world works that way!

Just because I am almost to the end of my second month of P4 does not mean I will disappear quite yet. I have gone OFF of this thread after a successful round before and had to come back, hat in hand, because without supervision, I ran through the woods with my tongue hanging out --again--and started eating family size bags of chips for dinner. In other words, I can't be trusted. I was going to say I am tired of having to do rounds every year, but honestly, what I am tired of is having to rounds either several times a year or having to switch to a larger size every winter.

THIS TIME, I want to stay at it until it sticks. Is that even possible???

I hate to think it has taken me ten years of repeating the same mistakes to learn from it....but better 10 than 20!

    Onward!
