Thread: A Fresh Start Group! R2

  1. #25
    Good Morning!

3.6 load lbs.! Feels like 10! So- start to finish I'd like to lose 18 1/2 lbs. I was going to do a 23-day round, but that seems like a lot to lose in that amount of time. So if I haven't lost that amount and it looks like my hcg is running out and I'm able to sustain a normal work-day with my energy level- maybe I'll have to order more. We'll see how it goes.

Going for a relaxing, short run and then I have a 2 1/2 hour cumulative exam. Then I get to celebrate being done with my first semester of nursing school and finally do something else besides study!!! I have lots to do outside, but I've got to start inside. This house is going to get cleaned from top to bottom and I can't wait! Sounds funny, but it's true!

Chewwy- Janna- Lucy- Expecting- Let's get this party started!

Way to go on 2.6 lbs. down on your first day Janna!

ExpectingT - what was your first day loss?

Ladies- do you think 18 1/2, I guess I should say 20 lbs....is that possible in 23-days? I read about people's huge losses, but the norm is only .5 a day for women. My losses were all over the place last time with my switch from hhcg to injx's.

And thanks for telling me about your supp's Chewwy....still not sure what I'll take besides the biotin.

Okay, I'll be checking back in---whoo hoo!!!!

I think it is achieveable... or close to it is at the very least.

Well it's VLCD 1 for me, haven't eaten anything so far (it's 11am here) and have no desire to either. I am going to wash and prepare my romaine lettuce and put it in the fridge so it's ready to go for my lettuce and grilled chicken salad for lunch when I do get hungry.

This is my first time doing Rx HCG injections and I'm definitely seeing side effects I didn't see with Rx HCG sublingual...which makes me believe I wasn't getting the full hormone with sublingual. I've had insomnia since loading day 1 and night sweats which is totally gross. I also had a dull headache both loading days and I normally don't get headaches, I read on another thread here that it's a hormonal headache. Neither Ibuprofen nor Excedrin extra strength did anything to it.

do you mind if I join in?

I'll be loading this weekend May 11-12. I tried HCG in 2010, lost 23 lbs. in 25 days, but didn't follow through with the other phases and gained it all back. I also quit early, I was trying to do a 40 day round and got tired and bored. My own fault! I just turned 60 and I'm having a very hard time with it. I don't feel 60 and everyone says I look younger. I don't want to be old and fat, too.

I think 20 pounds is doable in 30 days. I've seen it many times. I'm hoping for the same exact thing...Fingers crossed

Welcome Nutty!! 23LBS was great and since you now know what NOT to do, I think you will be successful this time around!

Lucy, I hope you have eaten something today, it's important to get some solids in early to kick start your metabolism. My first 5 days on HCG I have terrible headaches as well as nausea. I also get weird leg pain, but I've read all that is normal. Since OTC meds aren't doing anything for your headache, try some icepacks. The first 5 days are always awful for me, but I know once I'm past that hurdle it's smooth sailing. I have a feeling Friday is going to be a great day for us. As I type this I feel a bit dizzy and my head hurts, I also took a 45 minute nap earlier.

I just ate my dinner of Filet Mignon and asparagus with 1/2 tsp of onions and a melba toast. Tonight is going to be super tough so I'm hoping to drink about 2 sleepy time tea and be out early.

How is everyone feeling tonight? Also I think I've drank a ridiculous amount of liquids

    Hi Chewwy!

Yeah I ate about an hour after I posted, when I get hungry it's like okay time to eat NOW, but sadly the headache is still here. I'm really hoping Friday is a good day for us!! Really looking forward to not having headaches, it's just so hard to concentrate on work with this constant dull pain. If I get one tomorrow I will definitely try the icepacks!

Man I would love to lose 20lbs in 30 days! I only have about 20 to lose though so I have a feeling I'll have to go the full 40 days and possibly even do a second round to get it all off, since the less you have to lose the slower you go. This is my first time doing HCG injections though so maybe I will have those miraculously fast losses too!

    Chewy- thanks for the encouragement!
Lucy, we're really in the same boat. I've got 20 to lose and probably only enough hcg for about 26 days or so.

I've been lucky and felt great on my first vlcd day. Only having 380 calories today, tomorrow I'll make sure I get the 500 in.

And I sure am remembering a lot of little things- cellular memory is kicking in....

I used to cut up the strawberries and sprinkle it with stevia and a broken up piece of melba toast and it was my strawberry shortcake dessert every day! And for breakfast I'd microwave my apple with cinnamon and stevia and sometimes put the tbsp of milk for the coffee on the apple instead and it was like apple pie for breakfast! (when I was really treating myself I'd put a broken up piece of melba toast on that too- now that's lo cal apple pie!)

I also remembered that after my round was over last time, I realized the stevia I was using (from a box I bought at Costco) had <1carb in each packet. Well, for how much I was using, I think that added up. Not this time! Since then, I've changed to this brand from 'Kal', that is pure stevia, no dextrose, no-nothin-else, and no carbs at-alla.

No melba toast or milk for me this round though. I'm paranoid about doing things that'll slow me down. I'm already wearing gloves to wash the dishes, stopped all moisturizers, etc. Going to take an epsom salt bath tonight per your suggestion Chewwy! Mainly just to be good to myself after finishing school. And I rocked my test which felt great.

    VLCD1:
    2 cups black coffee
2 quarts of rasbperry zinger tea, cooled off with ice and stevia
1 quart of plain sparkling water with stevia
100g tilapia + 2 c. celery (lightly cooked in water to soften them, drained, and added 2Tbsp acv and stevia and mixed with tilapia cooked in my non-stick pan, no oil)
100g tilapia + 1/2 onion fried together, no oil
    1 med. pink lady apple
    155g of strawberries sliced
sleepytime tea with stevia after my bath!

Had to do a little reading on the forum about the food part again. Since I'm not doing the melba toast or milk, it seems like I'm supposed to up my protein and veggies to get to 500 calories. People seemed to find that if they just did 350 cals or so that they'd stall or way slow down on their losses.

    Any thoughts on that?
You ladies are my heroes! I know how hard this is and it's so encouraging to me that you all are out there (somewhere!) doing it too!

Good morning again! I was down 2.4lbs on day two of my VLCD... wouldn't it be sweet if we could have those losses all the way through?

Joy-full, you food for the day sounds good! It's amazing that is only 380 calories! I think that if I was looking for calories, I would likely add veggies to give me a bit more bulk (that is b/c I have troubles with BM's during this diet). Do any of you guys have that issue?

Also, are any of you finding that you are waking up way earlier than you normally would?

I love hearing your recipe ideas everyone... I keep my diet pretty boring and it would be great to spice it up a bit to prevent boredom...!

Have a great day today everyone... I will check in again later!

Morning everyone!! Lucy I hope you feel better today. Jhare: OMG you are on day 2 and down 2.4??? Wow that is amazing. I lost .6 this morning. But I know my body and it won't start showing significant looses until about a week in. Yes BM is an issue for me and always has been.. I use the smooth move tea when needed. As the HCG starts to work you will notice you wake up earlier and feel refreshed. Here is the "Gourmet Cookbook" http://www.smartbodymd.com/HCG-ebook-final2.pdf
I hope that link works. I used it my first round and its really helpful.

Joy: How was your detox bath?? Congrats on your test Yes I read that you have to eat the 500 or as close as possible, I remember 2 weeks in last round I wasn't hungry at all and basically had to force myself to eat! Your menu does sound good considering the total cal count. I wish I could eat fish I cant.
Hope everyone has a great day, be back later
On my 2nd round with a 16 month break. Need to lose 20 pounds I put on this past year.
