    Ok, I'll go!

Happy First Day of 2024, every buddy! Hope everyone makes it over from the December thread and now that it is a New Year and the holidays are almost behind us, we will start adding Lovelies!

I had a lovely New Year's eve at my sister's house. She made raclette, which is Swiss 'stinky' cheese called raclette (but does not taste like other stinky cheeses, very buttery and nutty) steak tips, roasted broccolli and cauliflower, pickles, with pears and apple slices for dessert. I could not have asked for a better P3 supper! LOL. If you haven't done this before, there is a little grill in the center of the table and everyone cooks their own steak pieces and melts cheese in little trays underneath. It is so European. We were at the table forever! So fun.

Home by 9, but stayed up reading until a bit past midnight, so saw the new year in.

I am actually DOWN .6 and last night was a lower dose of meds, so that is progress.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone still in P2 or anyone joining now? P3and beyond is not as exciting to post about, but it is every bit as important as the losing phase.

    Onward!

Happy 2nd day of January 2024

Off to work this morning. Doing good yet, in the end of P2 still for a few more days. I still want to lose more but am happy so far with what I have lost. I will see how P3 goes and decide if I will do another round after. Doing so well this time around and sticking with the plan.

New Years Eve was quiet, but I did stay up

Sounds like you had a wonderful dinner PearlyMae, my one French friend does that Raclette every so often. Sounds like fun.

    P3 day 21!!!!!

    Good morning all!

The holidays are officially over for most of us, except for college kids with month long breaks. I remember those! When I graduated and started my first job and found out I had to work a WHOLE YEAR before I got a week off....wow. That was a tough transition! LOL.

I am up the .6 I was down, but not complaining! I am still 3 pounds from the goal I had, which has been my LIW several times, but looks like I am not going to get to it anytime soon. That's okay. This LIW is the highest I've had in a while, but only by about a pound. Meh. Just numbers at the this point.

Today is my last day of P3 ! I am not going to change much going into P4. I feel it is too soon to loosen the reins now, as I still have cravings and could easily fall back into my old evil ways. I would like to get those bad habits gone once and for all. I enjoy everything I eat, and things I used to think were unavoidable are not as hard to avoid as they once were. But, as I have said before, I need a better plan for P4 than just Hope it Works!

    Onward all!

Jayk, hope we are not the last Lovelies standing! P

Dang, it's 2024! Happy New Year!

I totally meant to come here more often but I am so busy! My interruption ended up being 10 days due to a dinner with family after Christmas. It didn't go as well as I hoped but back at it for the next three weeks. I will probably do another round once I am done with this one. We'll see where I am at.

I hope everyone is well! Congrats on entering P4, Pearly! Happy P3 to you, Jayk!

Grrrr. Up 1.4 today, so getting close to the top of my window. I did not eat ANYTHING I haven't been eating all along noranything off protocol or anything in a different amount. But I did the lower thyroid dose last night and voila, UP 1.4 for no other reason. Yes, it is inflammation, but still makes me unhappy. Back to normal dose for two days and see if I can get back to LIW. Not my favorite way to start P4!

Back to editing duties for my free-lance job, so spent the day on my desktop. I made a batch of vegetable beef soup on Monday, so enjoyed a serving for lunch. I usually put 2 or 2.5 ounces of ground beef in each serving, but only had 1.3 ounces per serving after cookin the beef. Still, yummy. And Hot! I am having a hard time eating plain yougurt or cottage cheese, two of my mainstays, as it is just too cold to eat cold food! I heat up the dog food so they have a nice warm meal, so I want one too!

Welcome back, Mrs. Strong! Let us know how it goes!

    Onward!

    Hey all

I sure hope you get your meds working right for you PearlyMae

Inflammation is no fun either , but at least you know the issue

Working full time now again plus looking after my husband for this week, while my Daughter and son in law are in Florida.

A little chillier today, but still a good winter for up here. Still no snow.

Glad to see you back mrsstrong, and Happy New Year to you. I am not sure yet if I am done P2 this week or carry it on until next week. Will decide tomorrow . 30 days is enough, but might do the 40

    Have a good evening all

Happy 2024 everyone! It's nice to see a few familiar faces here. Thanks for this Thread Pearly!

I'm back to do a cleanup round. 2023 was a crazy year and this New Year looks like it won't be any different. Our family always does Dry January so it's not so hard to also do this diet. I'm looking at a 21 day round (plus 2 transition days) so I can be mostly through P3 by the time I have to go overseas. I will be gone for almost 5 weeks and the first week I will still be in P3. We will be dealing with family, who I love, but one SIL is a real feeder and always seems to need to push me to have things I have said I don't want to eat.

I'm Day 4 and have dropped 5lbs already (looking to lose 10-12). In the last few (cleanup) rounds I have had really big losses the first week and then stalls or tiny losses for the second. I end up where I want to be by the end of the round but those stalls do my head in.

Good luck to everyone who is losing/maintaining!

    Mo

Hi Mo! Sounds like you have a busy year coming up. Where are you going overseas? Wherever it is, enjoy! My nephew just got back from a college semester in Scotland. I wish could have visted him there. He was at St. Andrews, and I have been there for a couple of hours once, but would loved to have seen more of the area.

I used to travel a lot...and I mean a LOT, as I was an over the road tour director for almost 5 years in my early 40's. Since moving to Colorado 18 years ago, I have been known to tell people that I have apparenlty been exiled and not allowed to leave the city limits. Who am I kiddding? Yesterday, I never even left the house!

Thank you, Jayk. Yes, inflammation is the pits. You know you have not gained FAT overnight, but TESS ( The Evil STOOPID Scale) makes fun of you anyway.

I'm back down about half, so hope to be back to LIW tomorow, and then tomorow night am scheduled to lower my dose again. Merry Go Round!

    Onward!

Your right PearlyMae, just like a Merry go round lol. That must have been fun work being a Tour Director , get too see a lot of places.

Welcome Mo, good luck and wish you a wonderful trip overseas.

I decided to end P2 today, so will be P3 Saturday Morning. Have some bacon and eggs. Different veggies and fats of course but slowly add things in. I chose to end now at the 30 day mark, and that way if I want or feel I need to do another round, then it will be sooner to start lol. I am not even sick of P2 like so many other times lol. It's been a good round and I feel more motivated so now I know I made the right choice in doing it when I did.
It's nice to see the days, slowly getting longer. I stress slowly lol, but it is noticeable at least.

    Good Morning!

Pearly, I'm going to Australia to help close up my father in law's house and get it ready for sale. We were just there in October to celebrate his 100th birthday! He's finally living in a facility (a really nice one) after two years of living with my SIL. Before that he lived in his house and they just brought hims meals etc. He climbed the stairs every night and came down every morning. Probably more during the day. Well into his 90's. He's pretty amazing but does have a bit of vascular dementia. Still, I don't think I want to live to be that age.

It's Day 5 with no loss. No biggie.

Jayk, congratulations on your 30 days. It's wonderful that you still like P2 foods! I'm sure that will help you during P3.

    It's Friday!

Woops. I'm a little later than usual. I had to go out early and shovel snow. I needed to put the trash and recycle out, too, so ended up shoveling the sidewalk and a path to the street in my pjs and slippers. LOL. Then went back out after I fed the dogs to finish the rest.

I almost didn't weigh today. I made cookies with my nephew last night and used my Grandma Hazel's recipe for chocolate chip ones. Oh. Best ever! When he called and asked if we could do that, I had him put his mom on the phone nd got her to ante up half the ingredients cuz I haven't made cookies since Christmas LAST year, and didn't have flour, brown sugar, etc! She thought it was a pretty keen deal, as I baked them all and sent them all home back to her. Well, maybe not ALL... That's why I didn't want to weigh. I only ate 2 and I AM in P4 and I was so busy all day at my desktop that I never got around to lunch... so it shouldn't have been that big a problem

and it wasn't. Actually down .6 back to my LIW. But for some reason I thought I might be up 50 or 60 pounds overnight or something. I need to relax a tiny bit. Not a lot. Just a little bit.

    Onward!
