    Happy June Every Buddy!

Half way through 2024. That's a scary thought, right? How the months fly by while the days are loooooong.

I am just playing Bounce-A-Pound around my LIW. Up .4, down .2, up .2, down .4. My clothes fit, so I can only complain to TESS.

Landscapers in the back yard today. (I am spending money as fast as I make it!) I have five large maple trees and they are on a small slope. The dirt around their roots has eroded and left a lot exposed, which is not great for the trees, let alone ugly. Also, so shaded there, no grass grows. When I bought the house 5 years ago, they had put tons of large scale bark around it all, but the squirrels have thrown that all into the yard to be run over by my mower, so nothing. I'm having the slope filled in soil with a wooden fence type wall along it, and planting deep shade loving ground cover. Hopefully that will save my trees, stop the erosion and cut down on the MUD the puppy brings into the house! Tra la!

VENT: (feel free to skip )

I had an email from my boss about two typos she found. I've had a few others lately, maybe 5 out of the hundreds and hundreds of words on the stuff I've been doing. She wanted to know how to keep that from happening. I spun a little, had a small martini, thought it through, and sent back an email saying I was also frustrated and my take was that I am always having rush jobs and am not taking the time to review thoroughly. I used to run text through a spell check document, which caught extra spaces, ect. but in order to turn around all of the hurry hurry hurry stuff, I am typing directly into the design software, which is about design, not spell check. It has no proofing built in at all.

Also admitted I have not been speaking up and asking questions, like Is this really due NOW or do you want me to finish the two other things you sent and needed NOW first? So, I will now run text through a three step process that will check the spelling (in English, Spanish and Portuguese!) before stripping any formatting from it and THEN put it into a design. She agreed she always seemed to be in last minute mode and understands that this might slow turn-around, but liked the idea of the process. She is an analytical person, so processes make her happy. AND, yes, she encouraged me to SPEAK UP.

Hopefully, this will take some pressure off of me. My proposal for this gig was for 45-50 hours a month. I kept careful track with my Function Fox app and had 149 hours in May. This is NOT a full time contract. No wonder I've been stressed and creating typos!

    END VENT!

Never mind. Today the sun is shining and I am in LOVE with the blue skies!

    Onward!
    P

Pearl, I'm glad you took the time to speak up for yourself. You took ownership, but you also made it clear that there are also other problems influencing your ability to do your job at the level you would like-- problems that needed to be addressed! Hopefully speaking up will help to improve some of that and remove some of the stress! From this side, it looks like they have taken advantage of you. Definitely time to be your own advocate! And since you have been tracking your hours, you have documentation you can provide to your analytical boss to back up your concerns. Hopefully this was the first step back to where things are supposed to be!

Starting June .2 up. Lots of additional stress I can't go into right now, but trying to stay positive in spite of everything. Last day of transitioning before my 2 week PI. Got my shopping done this morning. Spending the rest of this rainy day enjoying perusing recipes for all the additional foods/meals I can potentially enjoy the next two weeks before swinging back around to wrap up P2.

2 week PI begins with a bang: down 1.5! I have no idea what my body is doing at this point. But I'll happily take it!

    P4 Month 6

January 3-February 3, to March 3, to April 3 to May 3 to ... June 2nd. Month 6 P4 starts tomorrow? I had to go waaaay back to see where I am, as I stopped putting it in the title sometime ago, and could not remember! LOL

I am happy today with a one pound loss! Oh, if only I can keep it for a bit. My poor little toes are healing and as of today are not swollen or red or tender. Well, one is still slightly tender, but overall, a huge improvement. I can wear shoes! Not all day but I can get them on. YAY. So maybe at last a lot of inflammation left my body.

Thank you, Jenny. You are wise! Enjoy your P3 PI and come back ready to rumble!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We could not have better weather this week, but it is the FIRST week of it being nice. I hired a college kid who is studying to be a landscape architect and is the son of a friend to redo my back yard. He is working soooo hard! He is not doing any plumbing or electrical, just adding dirt and moving things around, so I don't worry about him not being a 'licensed professional." But so glad I am finally getting it done. This last winter I realized I am not as spry as I once was, and walking in a sloped yard in the snow or mowing it is not so safe anymore. Also, too many always muddy places.

    Onward all you skinny Minnies!

Hello everyone. I didn't realize a whole week went by without posting. I had a busy week with work and cleaning up around the house, hauling things away etc.
Hope you all in the US enjoyed your long weekend last week.

PearlyMae, I am glad your toe is healing up nicely. And I think that's great you spoke your mind about your work. It is sometimes needed. Things get hectic.

I understand how your eating day goes sometimes. I have similar days, when you have things planned, and people cancel, or you wake up late and everyone pops over, or things just happen. That is why I always find P2 so much easier lol. Just follow the plan no matter what.

I picked up some Mr. Tortilla wraps, only 1 Net carb. That way I am enjoying sandwich of sorts.. Even put my burger or smokie in one.

Days off starting tomorrow. A couple more office cabinets, shelfs to build and go through more stuff. Mow the lawn again lol.

We are still having between sunshine and rain. Could use just a few days of Sunshine for the farmers etc. to get things started

    Enjoy your Sunday!!

Church picnic today--I grabbed a couple of grilled burgers and some deviled eggs I brought and added some sliced tomatoes. Great P3 choices, right? Well yes, if they were just burgers, but they had a different kind of texture, like more solid than plain ground meat normally is, so I'm suspecting there might have been some other stuff mixed in, like maybe bread crumbs? I was hungry at the time so I just ate them. Felt kind of thirsty and bloated all day, so I'm expecting to have to do another steak day tomorrow. Luckily, I was able to pick up a porterhouse from the butcher's sale case that I didn't have to take out a mortgage for, so I do have a proper steak ready to go and don't have to make do with sausages or something else from my freezer.

Hope I'm wrong. Maybe the scale will be kind. We'll see.

Speaking of bargain steaks, I tried one of those ones that they needle-tenderize and inject beef fat into so they are very well "marbled". Strange looking things, because the marbling pattern was so regular. Anyway, it was nicely tender, but did not taste like steak. Probably more like chuck roast, which may have been what it started out as. Just thought I'd give my review in case anyone else sees these offered and wonders about them.

Leez, I'm finding that steak doesn't taste like steaks used to. I am enjoying hamburgers more, I buy 73/27. And they are considerably cheaper. I wish I understood what's going on with our beef supply.

Don't forget alternatives to steaks - one of my favorites is roasted, skin-on chicken thighs. Again, cheaper and sometimes tastier than steak.

I often use alternatives to steaks, usually sausage or some fatty lamb. The fattier, the better it seems, so I also melt some butter on my steaks and make some coconut oil candy to keep the fats high. Chicken thighs is a great idea if you can eat a bunch of them. I tend to fill up after one or two.

Which, it looks like I'll be doing today, as I'm over my window as expected. The correction I did 5 days ago only just got me back in the window, so I had the feeling I'd have to do another. This is my last try to keep LIW. If my body keeps fighting LIW this hard, I will raise it some.

All this talk of steaks-- I'm just frustrated I can't find a decent filet mignon anywhere that isn't marbled all to pieces! I don't like fatty meat at all. Never have. Even my bacon is center cut to avoid the curled extra fatty bits on the end!

PI D2: up .4. 188.9. Too many carbs, too fast.
