Thanks for all the info! I need to head out soon, so I'll check in later and let you know what I find out. To be honest, I wasn't real impressed with this dr. I think he should have retired about 10 years ago!

    Good morning all!

I have been AWOL big time, so just popping in. Not sure if I am starting another round soon or not. I have to order Bac water and Missouri Meds website is acting up. Also they are not taking money online and I'd have to send a check or money order. Good grief. Where else does one get bac water?

Athorses and Spell: about PF: You already know it is thyroid related, but then, what isn't? I had it for 3 solid years and had one pair of sandals I could wear, winter or summer until they were in shreds. Doctors sold me inserts. No help. Tried Acupuncture. Nothin. Chiropractor'adjustments. Nope. Dr. Scholls. Nuh uh. Chiro took xrays and found heel spurs, but podiatrist said that had nothing to do with it. (Hmmm... I have pain in my heel that feels like I'm stepping on something sharp and there IS something sharp IN MY HEEL, but it is unrelated? WHOT?)

But I finally went to a Good Feet Store and got inserts there that saved my life IMMEDIATELY. It has been over five years, and I still wear the inserts daily, but the PF has receded enough so I can go barefoot around the house with no pain. If I skip a day with inserts, tho, I can feel that tingle start up. So, it is not gone. It is managed.

Luckily, Good Feet inserts are guaranteed for Life. I don't know what they offer now, as they may have evolved their technology, but I got one pair for flat shoes for tennis shoes and boots, and one thinner pair to wear with heels. I also almost always wear a bit of a heel as that also seems to help.

Apparently, it has more to do with one's arch than one's heel. So gotta keep that arch supported.

I was able to use flex plan HSA money from work because they are mucho expensive-o. But worth it. I'd be bedridden by now if I hadn't found them. I literally could not put my right foot down at all for THREE YEARS. I had to limp on my toe. I went early to meetings so nobody saw me walk in.

People will tell you, "oh, I had that, and it was terrible, it bothered me for SIX WEEKS and I had to do exercises with a tennis ball and then it went away." Yeah. No. Six weeks is from wearing cheap shoes. With 'real' PF, I don't think it ever quite goes away. Sorry. But it can be managed.

April, so glad to hear you hit 152's. I quit weighing at 138. My clothes still fit, but I buy a size larger for winter clothes than summer anyway. Sigh. I'll face the music after the 1st.

    Pearly,
You are spot on with your ENTIRE post. Only recently have I read that thyroid plays a part. AND, you are right, what does the thyroid NOT effect??

I have tried a variety of stretches to free the pain--to no avail. I'm glad to hear you found a pair of shoes that you were able to walk in. Crocs have been the best for me and it's because enough support to the arch. If I could just find a pair of casual shoes for work, that would put a smile on my face or shall I say, a 'spring in my step'!!! In the meantime, I Suppose another 100$ pair of running shoes, a $18 pair of insoles will have to suffice.

I just started my loading day with my hhcg. Come off 15#!!!

    Cheers~

Wait- WHAT? Thyroid? No, I didn't know that?! I just had my blood work done and my thyroid levels are completely normal... 1.34 uIU/mL.

Well, I am happy to hear about Good Feet and really appreciate you taking the time to relay all the details. I have seen them on TV and even went in to a store once, but didn't purchase. I am definitely going to try these out when the funds allow. What do they run? The only shoes I'm able to wear for any length of time are my Birkenstocks. It's so frustrating. I have noticed that stretching does seem to help a bit. I have extremely tight tendons apparently.

The podiatrist did an ultrasound and said that my fascia in my right foot looks "blown up." Awesome. He was surprised that the taping didn't work for me. It actually made my feet hurt worse.

So are you able to do regular activity? Will I ever be able to do Jazzercise or dance again?

SP-did your doc give you a plan for comfort!!??
I may visit the Good Feet store (again) to see if they have something to support my arch with rather than my 'Sole' insert. I think my calf, particularly on the side, is tight and need to stretch those more.

the ultrasound my podiatrist did revealed that the neuropathy treatment may offer some relief. i did not do it.

i do take thyroid meds for hypo and to monitor hashimoto autoimmune disease--thyroid regulates it ALL! i'm wondering if Hashi is attacking my fascia?!

If I find out something new, I'll share!

ATK- No, not really. All he said is to do was stretches and buy his orthotics. He was a little more with it this time, but still didn't seem to be a very effective dr.

Just checking in..today still sitting around 152. Which is good, I wore a dress last night to a party that I loved and it looked great and I had not worn it in awhile. I guess I will order my hcg next Sat when I go in for some other things. Plan is to start maybe the 5th of Jan and be done by the end of Jan beg. of Feb. It is a good time to do it, holidays over and easy time to stay in etc. I think I might just continue with the phentermine during the round as well. I find that I am not hungry and have no desire to eat, no thoughts of food. I have not really lost on it this month, but I did lose the few pounds of stress weight and It did keep me from gaining over the holidays so that is good. It is such a mind set to get psyched up for the round...

Got through the new year, sitting at 153ish this morning. Have to change my appt for this weekend, not looking forward to another round, but will be getting on the bandwagon soon. It will be good to get comfortably in the 140's.
