Hi everyone. I'm back! seems like the last few months I've been totally out of control with my eating and put back on 20 lb and I'm miserable. Looking forward to hearing all of your positive stories and encouragement... As I sure can use it.

are you doing a round..I get it. I have gained 5 pounds back not out of control eating..but cortisol stress from way too many life events. I read to not eat as much fat when you are totally internalizing stress as the body cannot break down fats, for example it said to eat good fats, but not too much like not olive oil and avocado in the same sitting...interesting. i have always struggled with stress weight.

Got my new scale..holding steady at 154.8
Not super happy and hoping things will settle down and I cannot gain any more and maybe lose a few before my next round in Jan. UGH!. The goal will be around 140 then, we will see what happens. It was sure nice having a long weekend though I worked my contract job the whole time. Did cut down our tree it is in the stand the goal is to have it decorated by this weekend, we are having a little party to celebrate the eagle scout accomplishment of my son and his two buddies. We also have the big instrumental music event this week and I have been knitting items to sell and will probably volunteer for a few hours. I need to find some time to stop and play some tennis and do some things just for me.

Today is my last vlcd! I’m so excited to put cream in my coffee, but also a little nervous about the added freedom. I have been reading everything that I can get my hands on regarding p3 and beyond!

It is amazing what emotional stress can do on the body. I had eggs with veggies for breakfast, some salad with turkey for lunch and a very small like 1/4 size helping of mac and cheese and and chicken and brussel sprouts for dinner and gained over a pound. I can barely turn my neck because my shoulders are so tight...I drank a ton of water, hardly peed. I am pretty sure that stress has everything do to with my gaining and not about over eating because I have been super cognizant about what I eat and trying now to eat good fats but not too much at a time as I have been reading that when your body is in flight or flight mode it does not break down fats well, it holds onto them in case it needs them.

Wish out bodies would get into this century and why can't I be one of those people who lose weight when they are stressed. Oh well..don't want to stress out more about it.

At least we found out that we made it through the possible revocation period of the severance..did not know there was such a thing. I am not sure what we were supposed to do but I guess not go and bad mouth the company. So we will get that on the 7th, a month from the time we got laid off almost. Not sure why we have to wait. Also got our health insurance changed to my work, which I think will be better, but I have some small details to work out on that. Hopefully today my husband will find out about a contract job he may have..and there is some other work maybe..so this might work out. I am working a ton of additional work to make up for any possible snafu's and also starting to think about paying for college and making sure we do what we need to do with all of that stuff. Filled out housing contracts etc and can you believe it is like 2600 a semester for a food contract..need to look into what that actually gives him.

Life...I was ready an article about stressed our kids are...I am stressed..wish things could be simpler. Hope you all have a good day..I get to sit in a training for 4 hours..ugh...

    Soooooooo

Just checking in. I'm horrible right now. I've tried starting my round twice only to realize within a couple days I just cannot do it right now. Trying to finize my dads estate, my daughter and older brother will not respond to final documents for settlement may end up having to file suit. We've looked at about twenty homes, have an offer on one right now. Started the Humira injections, feel utterly wiped out. It's just a whole lotta lifes challenges going on all at the same time. Me trying to also do hcg is just too much of an overload. I feel so wimpy and like such a failure. Likely my round will happen after the first of the year.

Oh, Blue! Too much! Take a breath. The first of the year will work great.

April! I am with you! We both wish we weren't! I did not weigh after Thanksgiving until Monday. Not that I over indulged but I just wanted a few days without worrying. So on Monday, I was down a titch from before Thanksgiving and thought, okay, well, on a downward trend. Good. I have been very careful and eating exactly what I have been eating while staying around 129 for the past few months, with the exception of a teeny piece of pie last Thursday.

Today, UP 2.2 from yesterday? WHOT? I do NOT deserve that. I had nothing off my usual protocol, and even ate less than usual, though not starvation kicking in less.

For me, it HAS to be the messing with my thyroid meds. grrrrrrr.,

At this rate, I will be doing a round the first of the year, too!

    Not happy!

Happy post Thanksgiving everyone! I agree it’s a very tough week but we can do it! Today is the first day I feel like I’ve gotten my head back in the game. I have not gained any weight but I have not lost any this week here in P2. But I feel that I am ready now to put Thanksgiving fun behind me and focus!

April: Make sure you send the college is a change of circumstances form. If it were me I would really whoop it up/ thouroughly explain your financial challenges and obligations about your husband being out of work Etc. On the form. Also addresss how the previous financial aid forms do not reflect your current circumstances. Since I also have to support my elderly parents, I found such forms very helpful with the financial aid offices. I know the response varies from school to school, but I definitely found it to be worthwhile for us.
I hope that helps you a bit! I apologize if you have already done this. I am just trying to help.

Blue: Oh my goodness you have your hands full! I could not do around with all that on my plate either! Do you not feel wimpy! No one could do a round with all that emotionally charged stuff! Moving is hard enough! Good luck with all those challenges. I think the main thing is to be kind to yourself and give yourself more breaks than you are.

Pearly: I just read an article about Thyroid and how some doctors routinely raise thyroid hormone levels in cold weather. Mine never has mentioned this. It’s from a newsletter from veryWell Real Life with Thyroid disease. The article is called “Temperature Changes and Your Thyroid“ . Please let me know if you have any trouble finding the article. I wonder if that would help?

I hope everyone is having a great day!

I'm weaning myself off social media as well because I don't think it's healthy for me. So glad I found this group I am loading on Thanksgiving and Friday. Congrats on your whoosh!

GWC - I am so jealous of your stats!! Congrats on your round!
Working from home is what allows me to maintain my weight since losing with HCG 5 years ago. Prior to that time I traveled a lot for work, but also even when working locally found that I make poor food choices when surrounded by others since they are all doing the same. Isolation is the best thing for me personally to keep a handle on my weight I still indulge on the weekend either Saturday or Sunday (depending on the situation or events), but for the most part, I eat sensibly for my body and sensitivities in order to maintain where I am.

    Coco,

I agree it's great for me to be away from all the fun food in a daily office. But I also have had to deal with the isolation. So making more friends and meeting friends for walks, gym classes, and coffee or healthier events than heavy lunches and dinners has been a really good way to go for me.

I also find the work travel is the most challenging. Especially if a long plane flight is involved!
