Thread: Lovely Losers 2018 - NO NONSENSE in NOVEMBER!!!

    Round 1: 140.6
    Age: 39
    Height: 5’2”
    Weight lost: -14.8
    LIW: 125.8
    Lost Inches: 19.5”
    Current weight p3: 125.2
    Current lost:15.4

I managed to eat a little over 900 calories my first day of increased calories in p3 today. I felt kind of gross and gaggy on and off today, espescially when I drank my water. I’m nervous to weigh in tomorrow, I feel so bloated and full!!! Do I lower calories if I’m up on the scale in the Am?

I would not lower your calories, you will need to get your calories up in P3 to a good place. I would focus on increasing P2 foods, good proteins, good veggies that you have already eaten and better fats. I usually move to chicken thighs, fattier meats, add olive oil to my veggies etc. If you are up...you can do a steak day, but i have found I will lose that water If I just eat high fattier protein, hard boiled eggs and chicken thighs and I pee like crazy.

you did do the 48-72 hours on P2 right....after your last injection or drops? to clear the HCG from your system.

Hey..down almost two pounds at 154.0, the scale flashed on a 153 number but settled and just glimpsing at the 153 number made me happy. I ate super clean, good proteins and I feel more relaxed.

RK thanks for the advise about the financial aid. I thought about it, but since we got a hefty severance package and he is getting paid literally for about 7 months, I find it hard to do that. I will look into it though. Maybe I will just check in with them and see what to do before we get the package as we basically according to FAFSA only qualified for a loan. Things are looking up, he is looking at doing some contract work and also he is talking to a few recruiters. VF (the parent company for North Face and Smartwool) is moving here, and it looks like a lot of people are saying they do not plan on leaving San Fran to move to Denver, so it maybe something that it in our benefit as we would not need to move if we could get a job there.

Hey all - I've decided not to do a round before xmas just too many social things on the calendar and I love Egg Nog so really was missing it. I only drink it during the holidays so I will just monitor my food intake and enjoy my outings without being crazy.

This weekend we start back up with sports insanity so hubby and daughter are headed to Dallas for hockey, my son has hockey here plus a team building event. Next weekend is hockey in Dallas for my son, Volleyball tournament for my daughter and my hubby's Xmas party.....and the list goes on. No point setting myself up for failure. I am still dealing with shoulder pain from my flu shot and have to go to my ortho doc on Friday they are thinking she may have hit my tendon or injected my bursa. Why me.....

Girl - you will gain some weight back especially when you add in the carbs when switching from no/low carb to normal foods. It is natural as carbs require water to break down so we always hold water when we consume carbs, that is one of the reasons why people see a large whoosh when they start restricting the carbs and the scale drops rapidly. Just our bodies doing their work in balancing. Remember you have a 2 pound window +/- from your LIW while in P3 and P4. Relax you got this!

April - glad things are starting to settle down for you.

Yes I did, my last injection was Sat and yesterday was my first day off of VLCD!

GirlWithTheCurls: If you start gaining in P3 I would recommend increasing your protein intake. Just be sure to do a correction day, if needed. You've done great!

I've gained about 30 lbs. since my last real HCG round so I'm ready for 1/1 to get this started. I've been in the gym the last 3 months so I'll continue that in P2 but I may increase my protein a little to make sure I can still do it. Hopefully I can stick it out for at least 4 weeks or more so that I can at least get to the 130's safely!

Hope everyone had a good turkey day!

A solid 136 today. UP another .4. Good grief. Way too late for a steak day, but those rarely work for me anyway. All I can do for now is keep trudging along. I do remember that this has happened in other rounds. I get about a 90 honeymoon period where I am steady as a rock after a good P2 and P3. Then, without any changes in my diet or activities, I start creeping up. I have experienced times when I just threw up my hands and landed face first in brownies and times when I just hung in there. When I give up, next thing I know I am up 15 pounds or more. When I hold on, I have experienced my weight eventually dropping back down.

in 2017, I was so determined to stay at 125 that I did round after round. I think I was on P2 more than I was not. And that did not work. Creep happens.

Sooo… the great experiment continues. I have a second surgery in mid-February, so if I can't get back down from here by Jan 1st, I have plenty of time to do a round of P2, P3 and be back on P4 by then.

For now, I will keep clean and remember eating this way is also healthy, not just for weight control. My cholesterol has gone from 210 to 130 on this Way of Eating, with the 'spread' being in the normal range. I can still go lower, but thyroid issues do bump those numbers. My triglycerides are at 99 and were in the 150's. Normal range is 0-149. If my weight goes back down, it's a win. If it doesn't, it's still a win --just will have to keep working on it.

    Onward all!

Hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations on a super P2, Girl with Curls!

Starting P3, I had an identical issue feeling gaggy and not hungry at all. My trick was to start out adding foods super slow... On day 1 of P3, added a Tbs. of cream to coffee! and a drizzle of EVOO on salads. My main focus was to get in the healthy fats just like April says. I had to force feed myself an avocado each morning and held off on all cheese, nuts, nut butters etc for the first week. On previous rounds, this is where I screwed up by adding too many things in immediately. I discovered a treat at Whole Foods, fresh coconut pieces which I ate about 2 oz each day. This time, I waited until week 3 to add eggs bc I suspected a possible allergy but did fine. I just finished P3 last week - Confession: I ended P3 almost a day early - i had a late evening Thanksgiving dinner at in laws and cheated with a bit of plantains and rice.... and then some late night tiny cookies with decaf. I felt a bit stressed bc I was out of town, borrowing a scale and it was off from my home scale. Got home late last night and today only up .2 lb from LIW - relieved!

April, glad all is well & congrats on your son's Eagle Scout accomplishment! Also the new scale! which one did you buy?

Good luck to all, whatever stage you are in! Blessings & love this holiday season!!!!

Pearly: I at least gained weight from eating yummy foods. Come on! You're not supposed to gain when you eat right lol We all know that's not true though. I would kill for 136 right now and I used to be at 123-125 so I feel your pain. I'm probably 160 at this point and it's not pretty. Hang in there and maybe try a chicken thigh day? I'm not a fan of chicken thighs but some people love it.

    Hi Pearly,

What is your WOE? I have been doing keto for the last year; found I don't lose weight with it, but have improved my health / reversed T2D. The only ways I lose weight are: Atkins fat fast (for 2-3 days / 2-3 lbs); and HCG diet.

I'm hoping you are able to resolve your thyroid issues - that roller coaster can't be fun!

    Lynne
