Hey..I have looked over my numbers over and over and all i can think is maybe I forgot to post a day so my numbers are off. I am sure I am on VLCD12 and not 11. It is more important to me as I am planning only to go 23 days with my testosterone all messed up. So I will correct it here. I so wanted to cheat yesterday and have been having a small square of Lily's dark chocolate at night after dinner. Tonight i have to go straight from work to a contract assessment about 30 mins in the opposite direction of home. So I will take both lunch and dinner to work. I have decided the high 140's will be fine this round and in Jan will come to get into the mid 130's then be completely done. That is a good stopping point. If I landed in the low 140's this round i would have been ok with that, but pretty doubtful in 11 days I will be there..I am pretty sure unless I stall that the high 140's is doable.
You have had very good losses this round especially despite the chocolate every night. With another 11 days you should be able to get in the 140s based in your averages, I lose pretty much .5day strict protocol as i was close to liw

Pearly - take care of yourself! Sounds like your very busy for a recovering lady, remember to relax and let your body heal. Glad things are going well!

Blue - crappy news on the drugs, I hope the doc can figure it out. It sucks having so many prescriptions that figuring out how and when to take them becomes a game of strategy!

April - your doing great! I agree with Rose you will hit your new goal with no issues.

AFM - still same weight as yesterday but with the huge 2 pound drop I will take it. Stupid Halloween candies are starting to show up in the office chocolate is my weakness. I will eat bakers chocolate if it is there and I am having a craving. Meeting up with people from a Canadians in the US FB group for supper tonight. Small world they are here on a work convention so we are taking the opportunity to meet in person

I had a strict personal policy for myself for years, if I did not bring it in I did not eat it. Def. stay away from the crap Halloween candy that is def. not worth it. If you have the opportunity pick something up that you do like and can use a treat once in awhile. I actually do like the lily dark with stevia so I keep that in my fridge. I think the other two pounds could come off if you eat really clean..keep it up.

P3 day 12, 139 lbs, .6 above LIW. When I first weighed this morning I was 139.8 , had a bowel movement about 20 minutes later and since I hadn’t eaten or drank anything yet, I decided to weigh again and it was 139 . Funny how .8 lbs can make such a difference mentally, right? I’m hoping I will drop back down below LIW which is where I was holding steady until this week.

    Good morning!

April, I think getting into the 140's would be totally doable for you given your losses so far.

Diesel, like April, I enjoy the Lily's chocolate but in total moderation. If I have more than about four little squares, I get really gassy (that's a common complaint from what I read). But, I bought a variety pack to have on hand in case the craving for something sweet strikes. Their milk chocolate is really creamy, the dark chocolate is full of flavor. For me, it totally works.

Just, don't fret about your number! If you're within your window, be happy I've read most tend to stabilize about two pounds over LIW, so being where you're at is excellent!

AFM, this morning I was 1.2# over LIW and thrilled with that! I'm introducing lots of starches and a tad of natural sugars (honey) and doing fine with it. I didn't have breakfast yesterday, ate a pear on the way to docs, stopped at McDonalds and bought a grilled chicken sandwich with medium fries and ate everything but the bun. Then, stopped at a farmers market and bought a gorgeous loaf of 8 grain and 3 seed bread from a local farm AND little teeny very thin sesame and citrus snack crackers. When I got home, I had two toasted pieces of the bread with butter for supper, and about eight of the little crackers. The bread tasted like sour dough but with the grains and seeds - OMG - heaven, total heaven. And, those little crackers could be freaking DEADLY, too - sooooo delicious. So yeah, I'll totally take the slight bump from yesterday but certainly won't be doing all that in one day again, hee hee.

Spent literally an hour and a half on the phone with the drug company this morning. My doc has sent in the pre-authorization, and the drug company is working with insurance directly to confirm final coverage. They're also assuring me there are other programs that may kick in, but I won't know that until likely Monday. So, we'll see. Hubby and I are going to town today, time for haircuts for doggies and hubby He tries timing everything to occur on the same day which helps enormously. We'll drop doggies off, run to Lowe's, his barber is across the street, then afterwards, have lunch at a lovely little Mexican restaurant we love and pick doggies back up. It'll be a lovely afternoon out, it's cool and sunny so very pretty as well.

Glad you were able to have those treats and not gain much..it is nice to be able to feel in control of those things. I am not sure if I am actually hungry, it is not gnaw my arm off hunger or anything like that, so I mid morning ran up to the officer's mess and had a few cucumber slices and some turkey we will see if this impacts me tomorrow or not.

yes April, they were treats, certainly nothing that I'd have everyday.

Well, I've had several calls from the pharmacy and drug company concerning my injections today. End result - my insurance WILL cover the meds for a year, I'll still responsible for the co-pay. The co-pay is $1,800.00 per month. The "ambassador" that was supposed to call me at 4 p.m. didn't. I need to speak with her directly to confirm if there's a program that will cover my co-pay. That's more than my ENTIRE SSD check per month for heavens sake! If I don't qualify for anything, then Humira won't be happening. The doc mentioned a third oral med that I could try but felt the injection would be the better way. I have to go to her office tomorrow morning to check blood work, and may have her call in the third oral medication.

that is such a bummer..health care is interesting. Obamacare has been better for people who had no access but not for most of us who now have to pay out of pocket. it is so hard for me being a social worker and experiencing both sides of it.

    Hey all.

Can anyone tell me how soon you are supposed to see effects of a steak day and/or apple day?

I've had the uxury of losing almost every day however during this week (in a hospital waiting room so don't have any stats with me but plenty of time!!!) Approx day 23_30 , I've a averaged out with net 100g loss in 7 days. Up till then I had lost 6.5 kilos! So feeling confused. My consultant a week ago said to have a steak day because the nightt b4 I had gone out for my birthday and had lean meat, beeyroot and red wine. I had still lost 400g that morning. He said have a steak day just in case, so I did and had zero loss, then plus 400g. Then -500g. So back to square 1 so I tried an apple day and had -200gx2 then +400. I'm so confused , is this what a plateaufeels like? If anything I eat too little not too much and the only pattern I can see is when I have 2 egg whites with roma tomato I put on not long after. Also for the first time ever over the last two days I ehad a grissini stick and/ormelba toast.
I think maybe I don't get the logic of the diet.
I see consultant tomorrow and it will probs be a 100g loss for the week.
Is it normal to stop losing around day 23_30?
If it's related to the grissini stick then I'm totally worried about what will happen when medication ceases 😒.
I'd love to reply to everyone but I don't know how you all do it. Do you type your answers in word before posting or do you all have fantastic memories of what everyone has said/asked?
    Thanks

LOVELY LOSERS 2018 - Slim & Sexy in SEPTEMBER!!!

HI Eac, you can hit the little arrow in a post in Tapatalk and the post you want to reference comes up in your post. On a computer, itís ďreply w quoteĒ. Or open a notepad or word doc and split the screen and write as you go along. I have 2 monitors at both of my offices.., so not sure why Iím using Tapatalk!

I am a typical American and canít convert grams and kilos in my head, sorry. I know 100 grams is about 3.5 ounces, so 400 grams... 4 times, and carry the ought... around a pound??

The apple Day and the steak day are both for P3, not the weight loss phase we call P2, so your consultant is not following the original protocol.

Thatís okay as long as what they have you do works. But it does make it harder for those used to the original protocol or the updated 2.0 protocol to know what to tell you without contradicting your consultant.

I will tell you that losses often slow in week 3, and rarely does someone lose every single day of the whole entire round. It is tempting and natural to look at the losses the first week or so and start calculating ďif I can just keep this up...1 or 2 pounds a day for the next 25 days...!Ē Except thatís not how it works.

Taking the losses from the first week, which include water losses from healing inflammation from previous eating habits, plus the steady, if smaller, losses of week 2, then the slow but still better at weekís end than most diets of week 3, plus some more on week 4 and THEN dividing by the 30 days... thatís when you find you will probably lose an average of half a pound a day. (Uh...225 grams?) you wonít lose a half a pound every day, you will end up averaging that after it is all over. So around 15 pounds... eek..,(exits to get a metric converter app...) 6-7 kilos. In a 30 day round.

That is an average. Thatís the math term, not a judgement of your effort! You are way, way above average for doing this very difficult, very lifestyle and live saving diet for 30 days. If you give an A+ effort, you wonít lose 20 pounds instead of 15. Sorry. Unless you have a great deal to lose, and then your numbers go up, or if you were male, then the half kilo may hold true. But if you have 50 -75 pounds to lose, or less, the quarter kilo is not ďaverageĒ itís AWESOME.

I am not trying to discourage you, just want you to have realistic goals and stats. When I realized NOBODY lost every single day, it took a lot of pressure off me!

Ya canít fudge this thing. Ya canít push it faster. You canít pick and choose or go on and off. But if you just Do It then you can TRUST it and relax and watch the inches fall off

Oh, and measure daily. ( groans,.. now Iíll have to convert from Centimeters!!) when the scale is stingy, Mrs Measuring Tape can save your day!

    OnWard!!

Whoa! Thanks @pearlymae (ooo my tag didn't work) . Calculator or not you were spot-on! I'm averaging approx 300g (Google tells me that's .661ounces) at this stage. And Yes I had a spreadsheet that figured out what I would be at the end of this but I was dreaming of continuing at same rate. My consultant measurs every week but I'm not really that motivated by the tape I must admit.
Yeah I know I've done well , I was feeling spoiled. I Don't exercise but can I ask if it makes a lot of difference or does it throw The Ballance out if u Don't usually exercise?
Sounds like I'm very 'normal' 😀😀
Thanks for explaining everything. I was wondering what Tapatalk was.
    Oh and what's LIW?
    Thanks again.
