Honestly, seven years ago, I would have sworn up and down that I had trouble with carbs. I always lst great on paleo, too. Right now, it seems I have trouble with portion control and overeating on carbs... but not with carbs themselves.

I switched to macros right after P2, which is a fancy way of counting calories. To make sure I am doing this right, I got a coach, and I love him and the Facebook group and support system to bits.

I just weigh and track every bite. And I have upped my activity. And added some weights/ kettlebells.

Sure, my weight went up right after P2. My LIW was 287.2, 16 days ago. Today, I had a new low at 284. So, lost 3lbs in two weeks, on carbs...

And seriously, I am eating 2070 calories right now, that is not any kind of pain, as long as you make smart choices. Weighing carbs is what makes the difference. Müsli, pasta, potatoes... man, those are sad sad portions when you have never weighed before. But, perfectly fine and filling.

If left to my own devices, I would eat four times as much pasta, though, easily. Now I have a 50cal strawberry sorbet ice cream, and not a 400kcal caramel magnum.

Just caught up on how everyone was doing. Sounds like P3 is working well for everyone and good luck to those of you still in P2.

I am holding steady with a little gain as my lower back is killing me so I know I have some inflammation there. I am not too worried about it. I have been toying with the idea of HCG again, but will not do anything for a few months. Just toying with when I think it will be good time. I might do it right before I take my son to college..so late July, then be in P3 when we go. I think that will also be enough time in between round and enough time for me to see if the thyroid medicine is working correctly. I should get my blood work back today or tomorrow to see if my dose is correct or if I need to up it. I suspect we will up it again as he thought I would be taking two grains which would be closer to my levothyroxine dose.

My hubby has an interview today..fingers crossed it goes well. I know it is just a first interview so probably will not know anything at this point. The kids are out of school in about a month. I am so ready summer. I guess there is supposed to be another bomb cyclone this week, but I think it will hit farther east. I have been getting graduation announcements together, my son's senior board, making sure all things are done. He has a mandatory senior meeting this morning for graduation (probably to talk about no school pranks etc.) We have a little trip we are taking right when school gets out to UT to see a historical train event, I have scheduled a quick trip to PA for his new student orientation and trying to organize summer..before I know it summer will be over.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this. It is sooo true we have been bamboozled by what a true portion size says. 1/4 cup of rice (if I remember correclty without lookin it up) is a serving. Not the 2 cups we normally put on our plates. It isn't that carbs are the devil its just that it is much easier to over eat the carbs without realizing it. You can't eat 4x the serving of meat, you just wouldn't be able to stuff it in. It is about relearning that and when you weigh and measure foods it brings a lot of that into perspective.

I'm just waiting for Thursday, I'm hitting that nervous stage that I just want it done. I know it really isn't a big deal with surgery is scary no matter how minor. At least to me.

April: Good luck to your husband!!! Fingers crossed!!!

I'm 150.8 today which is fine. I didn't sleep very much last night so I'll take it. Plus, I weighed after I showered. I just wish I'd lose weight with the foods I'm eating but I know HCG gives me a set point and my body doesn't like to budge too much from it. I'll probably end up doing another round soon.
    LDW: 152.2 from last round

    Good morning Lovelies!

I'm so bad about checking in then I have so much I want to respond to!

Reintroducing carbs - never been a problem for me. I don't eat the melba when in P2 and ate pretty low carb in P3 but back in P4 and eating carbs without issue or gain. Still holding steady at 119. For me I believe sugar has far more detriment. I've pretty much given up sugary treats of all kinds. I used to pop kisses in my mouth all day or be the first to jump on the office cake. Now I really don't crave those things so I don't partake. Yesterday I ate a BLT sandwich and sun chips for lunch. Dinner was leftover salmon and asparagus. Apple for a snack in the afternoon. I did have a glass of wine and that must be go again. I hosted bunco last week and someone left wine. That is my kryptonite!

I do think I'm going to try Intermittent Fasting. Didn't someone on here mention that once? I already don't eat breakfast so it's really just my excuse! Of course each morning when I say I'm going to start I'm hungry. I don't know that I can do it!

April - good luck to the hubby on his job search. I can't believe the winter you have had!

Pro - you are below LDW - good for you!

DM - good luck with the surgery. I hope it brings the relief you need.

GLC - I'm so glad you are having such success on the macros. It's nice when you find the thing that works!
    R1 Start 149 - End 135.4
    R2 Start 135 - End 129
    R3 Start 129 - End 115
Maintained weight loss for 2 years +/- 5 lbs
    Gained 10+ lbs from medication
    R4 129.6 - 119

I am so glad to see everyone is doing well.

P3 ended while I was visiting the youngest at university this weekend.
This has been a good round. I learned a lot of valuable lessons.

This has been my best P3. Ended it 5.6 pounds under LIW for a total net loss of 33.5 this round. No correction days.

I have been super cautious this P3. My calories are way up. I have introduced spaghetti and butternut squashes with no gains, which is a big deal to me.
Even though my P3 is done. I will continue to add foods back slowly so that I notice sensitivities. Ex. I had a zip-fizz and was markedly hungrier the following day. I think sucralose may have been the culprit.

I learned to check my hunger and dosage every round.
I have learned to pay more attention to portions and macros, along with food combinations. Eating to hunger and what hunger really feels like.
I learned that more exercise is not always better, to listen to my body, and be kind to it.
Hopefully these lessons will be retained.
If I continue this pattern of losing 2lbs a week, I may not need another round. At this point, I plan to be back for another round at the end of May.

Keep it up. I feel so much better.

Great on the loss, GodLovesCowgirls! I only have trouble with carbs in the sense that I just can't stop eating, don't feel full or satiated. I have no problems with them themselves, not even gluten. Your macro plan sounds interesting though! I did weighing and measuring too when on keto so that would not be new. I also never looked at calories as long as I stayed within my macros (keno ones). I will look into your plan if I decide to give P4 a go. Still undecided.

Kellanne, glad your rounds a good one! The lessons are the best!

Amberann, that gives me hope for P4! I love wine too and we actually just joined a wine club... I love wine too! Luckily you can bring your own food to tastings, and I don't plan on going back for a while since we went the weekend I was loading, oh yeah. But, yeah, I will need to be careful and calculate them in my macros, whether they be keto or P4.

I do intermittent fasting at least once a week (when not in P2). I like it. I also like eating dinner before 5 and then fasting till breakfast around 8, putting 15 hours in between meals. Some say that the evening eating/snacking is the worst, but it is not always convenient to eat before 5 or not eat in the evening so I am not strict about it myself.

April, hope your husband gets the job!

hcgpro, I think a firm set point can be such a blessing! Yes, it is probably hard or impossible to lose weight any other way, but since you can do hcg, getting to your goal weight and then staying there so well is a dream for many!

Dieselmom, good luck with the surgery! I hope everything goes well! I know the feeling! Nerve-racking!

As for me, well, I am sore after yesterday's fitness class, though I am not sure whether this is because of being on P2 or because I was sick last week and didn't go in. We'll see. My energy was lower. I am still not feeling 100%. Either this cold is just long lasting or P2 is making it harder to get well. I am not sick enough either though to not do anything. Anyway, I sweated a bunch in class, am really thirsty all the time and peeing a lot. At least things are flushing, lol.

Still same weight so that is two days without change. Today is day 6 on P2 and I lost 8 pounds so far, not bad. I didn't load excessively because I was so nauseated, but it was not a problem. I have felt fine since the beginning. For now, I plan on keeping up the fitness and maybe adjust the intensity, and weigh myself every other day since the day after will give me inflammation results from working out.

Hope you are all having a great day!

Rose: What you eat sounds amazing! Especially the bacon lol Good job!

Mairi: I never thought of it that way...I guess it is a blessing to have certain set points with HCG. I just hate that I can't lose anything on my own. What type of exercise are you doing? And have you added any extra protein? I normally get really lightheaded during p2 if I work out too much.

AFM: I didn't weigh today but I was good yesterday. I had 2 eggs for breakfast today and a little Danactive thing. For lunch I'm gonna try to stick with a salad then dinner will be some gluten free pasta thing that's delicious. I think the pasta is made with rice? It also has kale in it. Whenever I have it I don't gain so I think it's safe.

    P-something-or-other

    Hello Lovelies!

All caught up and very happy to see everyone staying upbeat and encouraged. I missed y'all!

I've been all over the emotional map because - sibling drama, parent drama, custody drama! 151 today so up 2lbs from LIW but I can't do the correction days right now, I just mentally can't eat anything and it's rough seeing gains when I know that all I had was ONE protein shake... I'm considering another round but who knows.

I'm also coming up on three months since quitting my job and even though I average two interviews a week I haven't received any offers. The interviews seem to go well, I get excited and then they ghost me of the roughly twenty people I've interviewed with only two had the courtesy of sending a formal rejection (though one cancelled the position). It's also affecting my dating life... a brave story about quitting your job to find work/life balance is cute when it's been a month, scary when it's been three months. I know it's not the guys' fault but I'm sliding back into a pattern of sitting in the house and feeling depressed which I know is unhealthy and wrapped up in false narratives but there it is.

Thanks for making this a safe space to vent.

    Round 1, P2: 187 to 168
    Round 1, P3: 166 stable

    Round 2, P2: 168 to 156
    Round 2, P3: 155 stable

    Round 3, P2: 163 to 149
    Round 2, P3: 149 and hopeful...
