Thread: LOVELY LOSERS 2019 - ALL IN for August!!!!

  1. #61
Pearly: WHOT the heck? Is it hormone related maybe? Stress? Too much salt? It can only be so many things but it could be more than one thing. That's stressful enough to try to figure it out.

Gem: Great job!! A little hunger around mealtimes is normal but watch it and maybe adjust a little if you get too hungry.

I successfully declined all the bad food at the yummy restaurant I went to. I just ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup and ate maybe half the broth and some chicken pieces. Dinner may just be soup again because I don't think my chicken is thawed completely. Dinner tomorrow will have to be done at lunchtime or close to it because I have to drive right after work and won't be home 'til at least 9:00 or later. Thursday will be a challenge at a barbecue/party for lunch but they're supposed to have something like tacos (I may eat the meat and lettuce but I'm leaning more toward not). I think they'll have fruit too. I may just eat at least an apple before I go.

Pearly: I have a hypothesis. Instead of your small gains being from P3 foods, do you think it could have been something in P2 that's affecting your ongoing stabilization? Or was it only when you hit P4 that it started? I know Grammy always says that certain things you do/eat in P2 can affect your stabilization. Just a theory. I hope it gets all sorted out.

Down 1.2 today! Must be the less stress of my house issues lol

For anyone in P2 that's not doing 100% strict original protocol, I have an amazing recipe for a frozen blueberry smoothie.

I split this up into 2 servings:
1.5 cups non-fat greek yogurt (I used chobani original flavor)
    1 cup blueberries
    1/4 tsp vanilla
sweetener to taste (I used a few packets of truvia)

Freeze at least 4 hours. It's supposed to be 154 calories for each serving but I calculated 1 serving to be about 121. The chobani yogurt has 4 grams of sugar that I got.

It's at least your protein and fruit

Hey everyone! Good news to see all of these wonderful losses! Keep up the good work!

PRO ó the smoothie sounds heavenly! Think I may try it!

PEARLY ó hope your weight stabilizes in the right direction and soon!!! Itís tough wanting to enter P4, but having issues with stabilizing in P3. I really hope things turn around for you soon.

I feel like Iím in a similar boat as you Pearly, as Iíve entered my 3rd week of P3, but my weight refuses to get back to 167.4. Seems like it wants to stabilize somewhere around 170.8, which is over the window, but Iím actually okay with that. Just as long as it stays there! Lol.... So no correction days for me! Like you Pearly, I have no idea why it has gone up, because Iím being very strict to P3 ó no carbs whatsoever. Iím also not consuming anything that would cause fluctuations, unless itís the splash of heavy whipping cream here and there.

I would really like to see the scale stay put, perhaps within a .5 lb range this week, so I can feel comfortable with it stabilizing before entering P4. Going into P4, the plan is to keep it simple with just sweet potatoes initially. Iíll figure out the rest later.

Amazingly, I forgot to weigh yesterday, which gave me a day off from worrying about the roller coaster. Today, I also was in a hurry and forgot to weigh before I got into the shower, and was half dressed when I remembered. (forgot to weigh two days in a row? Obvious Mental Block!)
I gave myself .2 for undies and wet hair, and am still right at 138. 3 pounds over, but at least I didn't GAIN the past few days.

Seems like my best bet is to keep on keeping on. I do not like me at 138 and too many of my pretty summer dresses Do Not Fit the way I want. What I should do is cycle back and do another 21 days and see if I can get to 130. But not sure I want to or that it is a good idea. ARGH.

    Onward evah buddy!

Congrats on everyone's progress so far! I love reading about it! So excited to see how everyone does!

So I haven't been able to weigh the last couple of days because I was at my moms and she doesn't have a scale.... But I am back now and my weigh in this morning I have lost 3.6 lbs since Monday So that means I have lost 8 net Lbs from my starting weight first week!

So what do you guys think about cottage cheese and an egg once in a while in place of a protein? I had to do this a couple of times this week and it hasn't hurt me really. But I am wondering if I could be expecting a stall or something within the next few days... Also, I am wondering if any of you ever have the occasional alcoholic beverage from time to time. I have read that people in the past has actually still lost well having a couple of glasses of wine 2 to 3 times a week. I think I would be too afraid having wine because it has a lot of calories, but what about a couple of shots of liquor? Does anyone have any thoughts on any of these things?

I've had a wild 2 days so far! Taking care of a 3 & 4 year old for a few days- grandkids. Love them both. Their parents are so grateful to have a few free days. Both live out of town & don't have much support in that department.

I've been trying real hard to not eat anything that may tip the scale in the neg zone and hopefully, I'm doing well. As long as I can stay away from the sugar! I will say that I still add a tad of heavy cream to my coffee & it doesn't seem to hurt much. If that's the worst I do.....

Sounds like everyone is doing well & I feel for you, Pearly with P3. I've heard in the past that our bodies may have an ideal weight they prefer and it's not always the same weight we prefer! Go figure. That's how I heard about the Leptin reset. It's suppose to reset your hypothalamus somehow. I don't always understand the science to all of that, but many say it has worked for them.

That smoothie sounds good, hcg and I may try it. I've done FFF on occasion and it doesn't seem to have hurt me any. I haven't done the cottage cheese though, but many vegans are known to use those two sources of protein with no problem.

You all have a great TGIF!!

Gem: Enjoy the little ones! It'll be nice handing them back off though lol

Pearly: At least no gain! But I get it - you're comfortable with a certain range and if you're not there it's just all off. You could try cycling back in. I've done that and only did 1-2 more weeks and still stabilized.

AFM: I'm down 0.6 from the last couple days. I'm taking it as a win because all I had yesterday was an apple and soup. AND a (most likely sweetened) tea with lemon in it. I felt like I had to at least drink something at the party thing I went to. Everyone else was eating nachos and at least I resisted that lol

Well, I answered my own question! I woke up this morning with a 1.1 GAIN! But I know exactly what I did wrong..... I barely ate anything yesterday and at dinner I tried to make a soup with my chicken and organic chicken broth and a little onion and a lot of celery..... HAD 3 SHOTS OF VODKA and my soup tasted really salty! I have a feeling that is what made me gain.... I am praying it is only water retention and I will be back down tomorrow..... I am praying that I didn't screw myself up for more than a day...... NEVER AGAIN!

  11. #71
Lex: It is most likely just the sodium. Could be partially from the vodka though because some people can't have any alcohol in P2 without gaining. I'm sure you'll be back down tomorrow

I've felt sick most of the day so far today. Hopefully tomorrow is better. Days like this make me wonder if I can go the full 21 VLCD's lol I'll at least go through next weekend.
