Flashed on 149ish range and popped up. I am still just plugging ahead and though the losses are small right now..I am staying the course. I still have 18 days to get into the low 140's. We will see what happens. I don't dread this diet that much and have found ways to make it work for me. I am hoping for a few good drops, if that happens then I will be ok..if not I will do another round sometime in the future or decide if I am good and happy in my clothes. I am happy it is Friday..have a lot to do this weekend, so that helps. I have not been good about food prep, but made halibut last night and everyone liked it, so it does help to have some variety. I will do some food prep this weekend. Hubby is still looking for work, lots of meetings but no interviews. It is strange, he has a great resume..it is just slow I think. Hope something pops soon.

I will add no BM since last Sat..so I will be doing something about that tonight.

For those who have been on this journey with me before, my brother has relapsed again, he is in jail. He is such a good looking, had been smart and educated guy, but substances can really mess you up. He has a bond hearing today and my mom is racing three hours to be there just in case he gets out to keep him over the weekend until he can get into this new program. She is 74 years old, my dad is 78 and just diagnosed with dementia. We had a little fight last night on the phone, because she had been saying over and over, she was only going to talk to him, but she was not going to do anything, she would not give him money etc..now she is racing up there and may take him home as she is afraid if he gets out and has no where to go (currently homeless and destitute after going through over 23K in savings using). She is also afraid to leave him alone, so she will be babysitting him. She lives on the water in florida..so I guess he gets a beach vacation, new clothes because I am sure he has worn the ones in the property for several weeks and dinners out for being a low life..it kills me. I hate that she does this, but I also know it is hard for her because at the end of the day it is her child. I have gotten to the place where I hate him.

Good morning and TGIF.... I am only down .2 pounds this morning and I get I cant continue losing 9.4 pounds every 4 days. I am good with the lose. Like Dieselsmom my Thursdays are crazy. I am at the Hospital by 6:00am, work a full day and then drive into NYC to coach a leadership program. I was amazed my energy level never dropped. I did pass out 3 seconds after I got home but I only had 5 hours to sleep before my alarm would go off.

It is going in the right direction. Can I ask what your load weight looked like?

My first round of HCG cost me $450 and I had to drive to a clinic 45 minutes away every week for 8 weeks. It was great starting off with a physician who knew this diet and could guide me through the first round but when I realized I could get the same potency HCG for a fraction of the cost, I never went back. Congratulation on the 2.4 drop. That must feel good.

Can I ask what you pay for your HCG. I would switch to a US company if I could find it for a reasonable price.

Congratulations on the birth of your son.. Now that is a reason to gain weight.

Awesome 3 day loss. Can I ask how long it takes you to lose 40 pounds in a round? I have never done that well but would love to step up my game. And congratulation to you also on the birth of your child..

Wishing you all a fabulous Friday...

Lots of great things in here! Congrats to the new moms what a fantastic time of your lives. I love that new baby smell it is sooo precious.

April - I am so sorry about your situation with your brother. Mine is an alcoholic but thankfully has been sober for 12 years now. It started when we were in high school and I didn't know how to handle it and ended up being his helper without knowing how to stop. Bars would call me to come get him cause they knew him. He would be trying to "sell" his cowboy boots to the bartender to pay his tab or something like that. As a 11th and 12th grader much of my hard earned money from afterschool employment went to paying for his addiction and continued into my early 20's. I didn't know how to say no, I was scared he would get hurt. I really wish I had said something to my parents/friends so that I could have not had that responsibility on my shoulders. I can understand your frustration and also your mom's side. They are still our babies and it is really hard to let them hit rock bottom and watch it happen. .6 drop not bad but your like me used to seeing some bigger numbers at the start. I have a feeling they are coming for you.

Vonda - tbh I didn't weigh myself preload since we were up in Canada at a hotel, I just stepped on the scale when we got back but my average is 3-5 pound gain. I don't necessarily concern myself with a huge thought out load since I believe the reason behind it was most folks had been dieting and starving themselves prior to the diet when it originally was designed. I have ate really well since beginning of Dec, constant load haha, so just had nice meals out at restaurants - had desserts - which I never do and enjoyed my beverages.

AFM - finally had a big drop! 1.8pounds, this is the weight I normally start at so hoping to blast through the last of the 160's in the next 3 days. I need to stay on track. Tonight we are headed to an AHL hockey game with our neighbors. I have a plan for having 1 beer in my evening. I know it will happen so figure planning for it is better than cheating and feeling bad. Then we are off to Houston for kids hockey Sat morning home Sunday. Most of Saturday will be in a rink so that helps me from eating crap. No place to get it. I will be smart at the restaurant and think that 1 day isn't worth a week lost on my diet.

    Happy Friday Everyone

    Happy Friday all,

VLCD#4....down 4.2 lbs. Started at 150lbs and pretty happy with my start and confident that I can hit the 130's as planned. No problems so far. Had some head ache issues first few days but I didn't have a good load. Just wasn't hungry and didn't plan well. But, that is behind me and I'm taking it day by day. I played tennis yesterday and also drove to clinic for my B-12/lipo injection. My daughter is flying in today for the weekend. (she is in grad school at Vandy and around age 25.......they all start getting engaged etc.........so, she is coming in for one of many upcoming parties for engaged friends). Thank goodness she will be busy. If we do end up at a restaurant, I'll bring my own dressing and get a salad. I have a dinner out with the girls on Monday. I'm apprehensive because that will be VLCD #7 and I don't want to start my stall early!! (i'm thinking salad with home brought dressing and a "skinny" cocktail).

I've looked back a bit and what a lovely group we have here.

Sdwis--It will be interesting to see how fast you lose with already being in Keto......surely your body will blast the fat quicker! Keep us posted on the difference regarding starting KETO please

Vondall---Your post encouraged me to do some light exercise everyday. Tennis is a bit too strenuous at the level I play but the drill I did yesterday was ok. I'm going to mix up walking, elliptical and light weights. Goal is something each day....even if for only 15-20 min.

Hello....to everyone else! I love reading your posts and find encouragement and support each time.

I've got plenty of food prepped and in the frig.........zero excuses to cheat! So far, zero interest in cheating. In my previous rounds, I have always lost 10 lbs the first 10 days.........then.......I've generally lost 5-8 more the next 20 days. I always stall midway. I've stalled mid way cheating and also NOT cheating. So, I refuse to get discouraged and with ya'll's help......will power through it. SIGH......this is third January in a row for the yearly clean up round. RIDICULOUS. Wine is my vice.

    VLDC30... LDW

    Happy Friday, Lovelies!

Well. After having stalled for several days, my water weight whooshed away over the weekend and I inched down within 0.6 pounds of goal by Tuesday. Then, suddenly, on Wednesday I shot up over 2 pounds, back to my stall weight. (There was probably a hidden culprit in restaurant food.) Today I'm 2.2 pounds over goal. I would love to keep going to reach goal, but... I'm out of hcg! So today is LDW.
    Onward!

Hope everyone has a great day!

  6. #162
Great job, everyone! A lot of whooshes going on

I started loading today and I'm SO ready to get started on Sunday. I'm probably the heaviest I've been since college so it's pretty depressing. I'm loading on higher fats this time but I'm not cutting out carbs entirely. I had some fried potatoes, onions and eggs in olive oil this morning. Not hungry at all but I have some snacks for lunch and dinner will be chicken, beans, rice and cheese. Tomorrow will probably be more of the same but I'll get in some more fats. I have some cashews I'll snack on inbetween but I don't want to gorge myself like I normally do.
    LDW: 152.2 from last round

    New round
    Starting weight: 156.0
    Current weight: 146.8
    LDW: 147.0

Deiselmom..yes it is hard and I struggle with things, luckily I spoke to my mom today and she is not racing, she is going to wait to see what happens in court. I am an LCSW on a behavioral health team embedded in the Denver City Jail, so I have a lot of experience and I try to educate my mom, but sometimes she does not want to hear what I say.

Kar: Good luck with P3..just a few more days.

Kmac: what level do you play? I play 4.0 and have played league and permanent court times throughout my HCG rounds in the past and play next Tuesday night. I usually add in some protein on the days I play and take a hot epsom salt bath when I am done.

Rizzo, I run a small retirement community, too, and our food service staff has really had challenges of late. I have one server out with hip replacement surgery and a cook who is fighting some kind of stiff neck thing. We had two back ups to cover for the server, but one of them is the back up cook, who had to cover... you get the idea. Good grief! Meanwhile, 10 in 3! You will have to embroider that on a belt...

April, condolences on your brother. I have one who is a challenge, too. At this point, we don't talk, because I can't open my mouth to say hello without him losing it and screaming at me that I am 'telling him what to do.' I don't, but I sure would like to!

Vonda, 9.4 the first 3 days! Yes, your body had to take a breath, huh?Congrats! Yes, I spent $$$ like that, too, and it was worth it to get started, but once ya figure this all out, crazy!

And... you add your pic under Settings, under avatar to appear on your posts. Profile pic is what one sees when they click on your avatar and go to your profiile.

Thanks, Coco, for the info on US sources. I, too, would do that, if I could afford. I had an rx from my doc years ago. I think she would give me another.

Diesy, whoo hoo. great big drop!

Kansas, waiting to hear how your Weigh Day went!

Pro, you are a GO for LOSING! LOL. good for you.

KMac, welcome back. A pound a day +! Now THAT's the way to start a round. Wine is a vice? I thought it was a food group...

Kar, a successful round! Yay! I bet that final 2.2 is just some funny inflammation and it will fall off during P3. You go!

I hear that Missouri Med is on its way out. If so, where will we get syringes? I got bac water from Mountainside Healthcare, but they only sell syringes with no needles.

Also, please note: Be Kind and Make Paragraphs! Big clump postings are hard to read!

I didn't quite make pound day, but I'll take the .8 and keep running down the road. (My scale said I was down .8 but my ticker just shows .6. Usually my scale only rounds UP when I am UP! Oh well, 4 in 4 days is okay. My goal is 6 pounds first week and I am on track.)

Pearly: I've had a habit of losing slow in the beginning too. After the first day it's usually a lot of 0.somethingoranother. You should be good on 6 lbs. this week! I'm hoping to drop at least 8-10 my first week because I know the losses will be even slower after that. I'm shooting for 3 weeks depending on how it goes. Are the cooks there still able to make things that are P2 friendly for you? I know they used to work with you on that at least. This gov't shutdown really is hurting EVERYONE! lol

I usually start bigger and still end up at 6 for a week, 10 for two weeks, and then... nuthin in week 3! LOL.

Yes, they are wonderful about P2 and then P3 food. I have to sneak cheats, cuz they are so good to me!

We are not government, so shutdowns are nothing to us. We are a non-profit owned by a women's organization, just FYI. Hope your BF's new job is not federal!

the most i've gotten is 34 lbs... this time i'm shooting for the stars.. i doubt it will happen. but one can hope.

today i was down 2.6 lbs which i was thrilled about. I don't expect much of a loss tomorrow considering what they've been that last four days. Down almost 13 lbs since Monday. Super easy during my work week since i'm so busy at work, no time to think about food. i had my hunger to non existant until today.. been hungry all day, but i'm managing. making chicken with swiss chard soup tonight. threw in some chinese five spice too. we will see. broths make me feel fuller.. i'm watching my toddler eat teddy grams and gold fish crackers and wish i could pop one in my mouth right now. only three more weeks to go!

Good morning ladies..... I am feeling good about my decision to workout during this round. I am down another 1.6 and am doing better than I have on any previous round. CKO is a combination of Kick boxing and crossfit. It is a fast pace workout that incorporates the entire body. i notice last night that I did not have the same stamina level as I usually do in class and I am ok with that....getting to class is enough for me. I have never lost 35 pounds in 1 round but that is my new goal. I am going to burn this fat off of me....

I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Addiction is a BEAST. My brother passed when he was 18 due to his and it has been woven throughout my family for decades. I have no answers but I have learned that food and binging is my addiction. I have spent a lifetime learning to control it. i have had success in my later years. But even now with all my wisdom, I continue to fail.

Like you my weight gain started at Thanksgiving. I live 1 Mile outside of NYC and the holidays here are filled with lights, shopping, hot coco, butter rum, pumpkin truffles, peppermint cupcakes, white chocolate and apricot breads.....ect.... Fabulous time of the year. By the time New Years eve came I was already up 9 pounds letting myself go knowing that I was going to do HCG in the new year. It was worth every delicious morsel... lol. Congratulations on the 1.8 loss. I know it feels good.

    KMac
Like you, I always stall midway. I am going to see if exercise changes that for me. So far it is making a big difference. I am losing at a more rapid rate. I will know in about two weeks time when I usually stall. Keep up the good work.

I have a 16 hour leadership seminar in front of me today. My food is all packed and I am ready for another day. Have a great weekend everyone.
