So this book came in the mail today and Iím super stoked to start reading it. Just wish the cover was a little more discreet so I could read it at work without caring what others think.

Glad I read this on my Kindle - where you never have to see the cover of a book after you first download it.

    Welcome, Kayla!

Bzblonde, I'd go for the old school bookcover, too.

Mairi, if your only cheat will be a little wine on Sunday, that may not even impact you.

It's P2D19 of VLCD for me. The last 7 days have netted a whopping 0.6 pound loss. Not impressive, but c'est la vie. I did lose more than I expected during the first 11 days and I know the protocol is working even when the scale doesn't show it. (Pounds and Inches) The last few pounds are always the hardest to lose.

All this planned interruption talk has be curious... I've never done one, but now I wonder if it would get me to goal easier. Today is my 21 day on HCG. I could transition, interrupt for 4-5 days (Mmmmm cheese), and then resume P2 for a week or whatever. Thoughts?

Hope everyone has a great day!
I've done planned interruptions three times after either the 23rd or 30th VLCD (most recently back in February for a Valentine's weekend trip). Mine were always successful, resulting only in about a 2 lb. gain during the interruption. This is with no sugars or starches, but i do eat sweet fruit such as pineapple or grapes and also drank 1/2 bottle of champagne during the interruption with no issues. I've always gone on to lose 5-7 more lbs after the interruption when doing at least 10 more VLCDs.

That is my hope as well, Kar.

As for an interruption, I have done long rounds in the past and I am finding the interruption easier to do. It gives me a break, and I can nourish my body since I am also exercising. However, I would not introduce new foods until after 3 days or so, so that you can stabilize a little and get an idea where your weight ends up. Then add cheese and watch the scale. I think doing this may potentially helps prevent unnecessary weight gain, and gasp, steak days while enjoying your interruption. But yes, just adding fat and bigger portions is really nice before going back to it!

AFM: Today is D1 of P2 after my interruption. Started at 169.8. LDW was 171.2. I was initially setting at 170.8 very consistently, but then I dropped a little weight without trying. Ate well and enjoyed it. I guess that happens and it makes me hopeful that if I don't reach goal weight, I could maybe do the rest on my own? Fingers crossed. I want to get to 150 but I think 155 is where I will end. I think my losses were too unusual to repeat themselves but who knows! I am prepared to be surprised, not disappointed!

ETA: Ack, I keep thinking I am doing another 23 days but it is just 17 since you can only do 40 days total, correct? So then I should expect 10lbs and hope for 15. Not as nice LOL
What would the results be if I went for 23 days on HHCG?
    Round 1 191.6
    LDW after 23 days 171.2
    Planned interruption
5/10 Continuing round starting at 169.8!
    End of round 1 5/25 163.8
    Total loss 26.4/38 day round
    Goal 150!

Correct. 40 dose days total. We recommend that even for hhcg. Even though you don't risk immunity with hhcg, it's still better not to stretch the round because its hard on your body. Besides, by the time you get to dose day 40, you will likely be mentally ready to finish up. I know I always am.

My thinking on not pushing the round past the maximum: I spent so many years abusing my body with stupid dieting that I am unwilling to be unkind to this marvelous machine now that I know better. I want to do everything I can to help it function correctly.

That's the thing though: With the interruption, it feels like a great boost! But I will follow the wisdom of the pros and original protocol. Thanks, Leez!

Not sure if anyone read my last post about my weight not budging at all this round, but whatís weird is Iíve had loads of energy for exercise. I just did a killer cross training workout - strength training/running intervals - and I killed it. I had a green Apple and a coffee before the workout and thatís all I needed. Iím sure Iíll be ravenous tomorrow though - I always am the day after strength training.

Anyway, no idea whatís going on here. Iíll have some extra protein today though.

Still at 142.6, even though I did a 16 hour fast (ate my last meal by 3pm yesterday). Ahhhh!!!

From looking at your past postings, it seems like you have had unusually slow losses earlier this spring as well. How is your sleep? I'm wondering if cortisol issues might be preventing HCG from working for you as well as it should be. However, even if thyroid and adrenals are not optimal, the protocol usually yields better results than you are getting. Intermittent fasting is actually built into the protocol if you only follow the 2 meals a day suggested in the menu. But if adrenals are compromised and/or cortisol is off, intermittent fasting can work against you. You could try dividing up your alloted meals into 4 smaller ones and see if that helps.

Thanks for the response Leez! And happy Motherís Day! I donít intermittent fast everyday, just some days. I sleep like a rock (on or off HCG). Iím going to try cutting out all artificial sweeteners except a little stevia in my morning coffee. I know itís all calorie free but I wonder if thatía hurting me (diet soda or sparkling ice drinks, for example).

Ironically, last night I said screw it and went to a sushi restaurant. I had 1.5 glasses of dry white wine and ate sashimi. I didnít measure - just ate what I guessed was about 5-6 ounces. I also had a couple bites of Enlightened ice cream (super low fat and low cal) when I came home. This morning, I finally dropped to 141.8, hahahahaha. Today will be a day of wake surfing, heavy intermittent fasting, and a modified mini steak day....letís see if mixing things up helps.
