Lovely Losers 2019 - NO STOPPING in NOVEMBER!!!

I think everyone enjoyed learning new ways to evaluate recipes and it was a lot of fun...

Even better, I did not gain any weight! I also did not lose any weight but 2 days in a hotel so that was also a win. So today I am back home and hopeful to continue on the right path. Thank you again for your help! I was really nervous!

Pearly: Great job dropping that .8! No doubt more will come off. I am keeping my fingers crossed for your mom.

Kar: Good luck in P3! I am filled with admiration that you are doing great! Can't wait to hear all your P3 tips! Great planning because you will be able to enjoy the holidays.

I also figured out adding a ticker! Just thrilled to be conquering the very basics ha ha.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I have been really sick with back to back head colds. One from a friend and then caught the one the toddler I watch had. Follow it up with tummy trouble, and all I have wanted to do when not working was SLEEP! Last weekend I slept 18 hours Saturday and 16 on Sunday, and I am finally feeling a lot better. Yesterday I tried to catch up on laundry and dishes, but I have not cooked any protein for me. It is almost thawed, but I had appointments today, so I will cook it tomorrow. I was off plan today, but stuck to 500 calories.

After being stuck at the same weight for almost a week, I finally lost .8 two days in a row. Now I am at 238.2, down from 248.6. I am pretty sure I am on VLCD 23, so 10.4 pounds in 23 days (including the loading weight). I usually lose faster, since I am so heavy, but I will take it. This has been a challenging round so far, and I still have plenty of hhcg drops left. I am planning to continue for at least another 2 weeks.

It's always good to see you here! 10.4 pounds closer to the goal is winning. The protocol is challenging enough when one is feeling well. Hope all the sickness is behind you and you breeze through the next 23 days.

Down another .4 so now only .2 above my preferred LIW. Mom eating a few bites more, and finally got a new PT who actually shows up and doesn't leave her waiting all day before telling her Let's skip today. She needs to walk in order to get back to assisted living or she will end up in nursing home which she does not want to do. It's all about building strength--something I need to do, too.

Thank you for all the encouragement, Jessie, Kar, RK, Gem et al: I am not doing anything else more important that hanging with my Mom 4 hours a day and weekends. I sort of resent the hours spent at my job, but I know that the job is great and I need it to pay for that new house. And you know, kibble and stuff, so not really resentful, just hate that my sister is carrying the majority of the load with Mom, as she is there from 7 or 8 til 6 weekdays, and also has a job (she works from her laptop and goes to the facility library to make calls) and three teenagers all in Drama Mode from lack of Mama Attention. But, all I can do is all I can do, right?

Tight, being sick: ugh, but being sick when there is so much going on and when on P2, double ugh, maybe triple. Your losses will catch up. I think you still lose while sick, but inflammation covers it up. Hang in! You are an inspiration!

    Good Morning Lovelies,

Roni: What do you think about doing a Planned Interruption until you feel better? Or do you have no appetite anyway because you are sick? Maybe think about making a celery, onion or leeks, and chicken broth soup? I find leeks are great in a soup. Also, keep taking your vitamin pills! Hope you feel better soon!

Pearly: You are doing great helping your mom! Glad to hear she is eating a bit more. Wonderful that your sister can work from there, and I know you tell her how great she is for doing that...I think it is good for teens to see that you are helping your mom--maybe they can come along one day and be a part of it or do a little more to help? Worth an ask, because even if they don't pitch in maybe the drama goes down a bit? We all need our jobs!

HI JessieB: How are you doing?

AFM I am down another pound after a several day stall last week (but at least no gain, so always grateful). Happy with that. I seem to stall every 12 pounds or when I get down to a weight I've stayed at before. This time it was 12 pounds and at a weight I maintained before. I always strive to be POP, but today I have to weigh everything and be extra careful to keep moving in the right direction and not go back up!

    Onward as Pearly says!

    Fondly,

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Planned interruption wasn't an option because I didn't have time to plan it out. I am all set now with chicken and vegetables, and a few gala apples. Today is my only day off this week, so I spent the morning in the ministry with some girlfriends, and now I feel emotionally and spiritually refreshed. Now I just need to work on the house and help my daughter fill out her family medical history for her geneticist appointment. She procrastinated, and we have to fax it tomorrow for her upcoming appointment.

Good news from the scale this morning. Woke up to a 2 pound loss! I will TAKE IT!! Still not quite at the 1/2 pound/day average yet, but any loss is a win. I will continue to trust my body and the weight and fat WILL come off if I just continue working the program. My problem has always been self-sabotage, and I have to keep vigilante when my pain levels increase...I like to "feed the pain" with comfort food. This week I have repeatedly refused to stock the house with these foods, even though my adult son has asked me to pick some up. NOPE, not doing it. Told him if he buys ice cream, he has to keep it in the cabin fridge, and hike back and forth down to the cabin each time he wants a bowl. I can't trust myself late at night with it in reach...

Really looking forward to being an empty-nester again next spring. Hubby and I have designated January as a "no bread" month. I want to have a "no grains" month, but he won't give up cereal or rice and as a brewer, he can't give up beer... of course, he carries most of his excess weight in his gut. No/low carb would REALLY do him a world of good, but he just won't commit to it, so I take what he is willing to do...no bread in the house is nice. Until then, it is mostly trying to stay motivated when I can't sleep due to pain is my biggest challenge. Meditation is helping. Eating doesn't do anything but distract me from the pain, and I am finding other things that can also distract...reading, tv, even coloring when my head/neck/hands aren't in severe pain.

For me, the long journey to my goal weight is about learning WHY I am overweight and making sustainable changes. I thought I had before, but obviously not, as I regained almost 30 of the 50 pounds I had lost. But, that taught me something about myself too. I have to deal with the "I just don't care" phases of my pain situation before the weight piles back on. Deep down, I did care...I just didn't want to have to deal with anything else in my life, but it was the pain that was too much to cope with, not the effort of preparing the proper foods. That is what I have learned. And just maybe learning that was worth having to re-lose 30 pounds.

Great post, Ronnie. Many of us can identify, tho our pain levels may be different and / or emotional. I get tired and my plans go out the window. Doesn't make me less tired, just less grumpy about being tired. I know I comfort myself with sugar/starch and tell myself at least it isn't alcohol, but really. that's just sugar in another form, so it's a level, not a difference.

I have been pretty good the past couple of days, and have stuck to a protein drink for supper, with a piece of cheese if still mouth hungry. Down anotther .6, so back solidly in my window. Just 1.6 above my 'chosen' LIW if my ticker doesn't change. Every time I have to clear my cache in order to get it to change, I lose my sign in,too, as well as others.

I'm baaack! To busy to connect w/u all as after 14 hr + days, all I want to do is collapse! I hated stepping on the scale this morning but I did & on VLCD 23 I'm only down 6.8 lbs (slight gain this week ☹) but I am going to persevere a bit longer b4 the holidays hit. I did real good up til the last couple of days but I wont let that discourage me!

I've read your posts & it's so good to see others hanging in there as it encourages me more than you'll ever know!

Have lots to catch up on!

    Have a wonderful Thursday &....

    Stay focused! 😳

Pearly, great job getting down into that window!!!!

    Roni: We are all struggling!

I have to say for me keeping my weight off is a real daily challenge. But I comfort myself in that even some of the super members and moderators experience "the creep". Once I lose weight my thyroid misbehaves so I have to be real careful too. Maybe we should talk about tips that help us maintain? One, I get myself out of the kitchen and away from the kitchen after dinner, because I use to love an evening snack. Also, I try to avoid sweets or treats at dinner dessert, that seems to get me revved up to eat more. Third, someone said always have a big salad as part or all of one meal. But it is easy to get carried away with fattening salad add ons, so I try for extra veggies at every meal to get full, a big plain salad, or home made soup. I will make a big pot of soup and the next day freeze it in individual sandwich baggies servings (While I watch TV). That helps me.

Ok, so what are your best tips? We can do this, it is a learning curve and a journey! Every time I lose I get a little better at maintaining...I just need to work on it and stay focused.

Good morning everyone! Chilly morn here in the Buckeye State! I'm not a real "cold" person. 😣

So I hope I didn't break my scale again but it said I was down 2.0 lbs today! Yippee! Maybe getting back home to my routine has helped. All I know is that I was very careful w/my eating yesterday. I haven't been able to make it to the store yet & I did eat some FF Greek Yogurt w/some berries last night as it was the only protein source besides eggs in my fridge.

Rk- I maintained well last round & was thrilled that I never did a steak day! I added foods in a little at a time. I ate mostly low carb w/occasional snacks and I never really ate any sweets @ all. It's like I had no desire after P2. Very conscious of portion control. I also walked more.

    TGIF!!

    Stay Focused! 😳

    Good morning, Lovelies!
Roni, that "I just don't care" attitude hit me the weeks leading up to this last round. I knew I was going to do a round and my frustration with trying to lose "sans HCG" lead to me giving up on healthy eating. Fortunately it was only a few weeks, but it still did some unnecessary damage on the scale.
    Onward, Pearly!
RK, prepping foods in advance seems to help me. I struggle in P3 though because without the HCG I get hungry and likely consume too many calories. I'm going to make some soups this weekend. I'll also try to see if sipping simply chicken broth helps fill me up between meals.
    Stay warm, Gem!

Hello all! Busy weekend! Today I am planning on cleaning out my freezers! I need space! I try and bake a little @ a time for the holidays & freeze things as I go along. Also love to make extra soup, etc. To freeze for later. Plus, I have stuff I need to just toss! I'll admit, I'm a "food hoarder!" 🤫 there I'm out of the closet now!

So, my scale appears to be "stuck! " I think I just need to go back to not weighing myself so often. I know I had a weird "off" week & I just need to relax.

Kar, I also understand the frustration & that's why I need to not weigh myself everyday! Ha! 😉

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Stay Focused! 😳 (I have to make this my Mantra!)
