Lovely Losers 2019 - NO STOPPING in NOVEMBER!!!

I have to say for me keeping my weight off is a real daily challenge. But I comfort myself in that even some of the super members and moderators experience "the creep". Once I lose weight my thyroid misbehaves so I have to be real careful too. Maybe we should talk about tips that help us maintain? One, I get myself out of the kitchen and away from the kitchen after dinner, because I use to love an evening snack. Also, I try to avoid sweets or treats at dinner dessert, that seems to get me revved up to eat more. Third, someone said always have a big salad as part or all of one meal. But it is easy to get carried away with fattening salad add ons, so I try for extra veggies at every meal to get full, a big plain salad, or home made soup. I will make a big pot of soup and the next day freeze it in individual sandwich baggies servings (While I watch TV). That helps me.

Ok, so what are your best tips? We can do this, it is a learning curve and a journey! Every time I lose I get a little better at maintaining...I just need to work on it and stay focused.

What's worked for me over the past 2 years is to have ready made same simple but delicious go to's for lunch and dinners throughout the week. I'm not afraid of real butter and good fats (ie avocados). I like to eat volume so it's not unusual for me to eat chicken, side item and fruit followed by coffee with cream. Both lunch and dinner. It's very filling and satisfying. Also, desserts are allowed about once every 7-10 days. The only rules I have for desserts is to 1) make it a good one (none of the fat free wanna be stuff) and 2) Stop: do not to let the sugar take me on a daily journey. I don't dable much in unhealthy carbs but when I do I think of it much like sugar and I'm mindful to reel back in. I refuse to live life of feeling restricted, hyper watching calories and daily scales. Weighing once a week has been working for me lately. Knowing weigh in is coming up keeps me on tract. Enjoy a splurge then eat good delicious clean stuff to offset it. It's been a 2 year process for me and not stabilizing perfectly after some rounds has been a learning experience. (Note: Many people can and do achieve 80 loss quicker than I did) If and when it the creep up happens it puts a fire in you to figure it out so you don't feel that let down again. Hopefully, after next round (April 2020) I will be joining the 100lb club. It's a bonus round from my original goal but I think I need to have it in front of me to stay on track.

Well, my 'back in my window' sure was short lived. That was Friday, and Saturday, I was up a pound! Sunday up .6 and today up .4. WHOT? I have not been perfect, but not THAT bad. Both some off choices and all the stress and tiredness is catching up to me. All I can do is keep as clean as I can, and hope it cycles back down. If not, there will be a round in my future after the first of the year.

I bought some new jeans recently, and they still fit, so I am trying not to place too much emotional value on what TESS says. I'm not thrilled that I am almost back to where I was before I did not one, but TWO rounds to get back to where I like. Meh.

Don't feel like changing ticker yet.

Good Morning Lovelies and Happy Monday!

GemGirl: Hang in there! I also need to clean out my freezer this week. It is amazing how food can get lost in there. I did find some frozen strawberries that I froze hogging a lot of space. I have been defrosting those and eating them warm here in P2.

I think it takes extra fortitude to do this diet where it is winter cold! Great work says your wimpy friend here in Southern California.
Pearly: Congrats for being close to your window! It could be salt? My body will sometimes hang on to water weight, especially if I am fighting off one of the many nasty bugs going around here. Try to drink some tea or water and maybe think about Grammy's inflammation smoothie? Cucumbers, apple cider vinegar and ginger help me if it is water weight! Also, if your new jeans fit maybe you have built muscle?
Roni: I think we are all trying to figure out why we gain. My problem is the answer for me changes. I remember a time when I was younger and I could eat anything and not gain, I think it is tough in general now. I figure every time I do this diet I get closer to answers. I think I have to give up the idea that I can eat whatever I want and realize I will always need to be "awake" and can have cheat moments and not cheat days or weeks without consequences.
Jessie: That is great advice to have things ready made things you enjoy. I also like your dessert idea to splurge once a week and make it a good one. I think that would keep me from eating so so unsatisfying treats.

AFM: Down .8 today after no loss this weekend so it is beginning to even out to my usual .4 lbs/day. I am trying to walk more. Not at 10,000 steps a day, but trying to get my steps up without getting the fatigue that can happen to me on P2. I just don't have the stamina for heavy exercise. I went to a swanky dinner Saturday and called the restaurant ahead to pick dishes I could eat and order without a fuss at the table. That worked well and they were very nice. Sunday was a housewarming party at the home of a gourmet cook. I just ate a little before, should have probably ate more, but I was counting on a veggie tray that was not there--every vegetable was sauced, roasted with oil, or not on protocol. So I only drank flavored 0 calorie sparkling water. Put it in a glass with a twist so people thought I was drinking alcohol and didn't bug me for not eating. I was so very tempted that I didn't want to get started going near the tables of food/desserts. I actually made a list on my phone of what I was going to eat after P3...I never drank so much water and sparkling water in my life ha ha. Probably why I am down today.

Well, my weekends are challenging, I have a family wedding next weekend, Mom's birthday and then Thanksgiving. But at least all will be quiet for a few days here so I can shore up my self control and have a few days with only the normal temptations that we all deal with.

    Have a lovely Monday!

Ok. Whot da heL? I've gained almost 4 pounds in 4 days. I have been a bit rogue, but have not really fallen off the rails. It's not like I polished off an entire carrot cake for supper. Dang, wish I hadn't said that, now I want one.

I know I am tired and stressed, but although a couple pounds may be fair, 4 is cruel. I am super foggy today, and I do feel like I am about to catch cold or something. I had a flu shot a couple of weeks ago--IDK. Every joint in my body is grumbling at me. I'm not in pain, but caffeine is not making any progress on me and my eyes are super light sensitive and barely open. I keep flexing my hands because they are stiff and I am typing really slowly.

    wah wah wah.

I may go get my toes done over lunch. Not so much for the sake of my toes but so I can sit in one of those big massage chairs!

+4 lb ...no way ...that's fake weight! TESS is playing with you. Not unless you really did a whole carrot cake in your sleep. Look under your bed for evidence

    Good Morning Lovelies,

Pearly, there is no way that is a real weight gain! Probably water weight from inflammation of fighting some bug or something. Stay focused. I know it will be gone quickly!

I have a question. I am really tired (and not sleeping perfectly) and quickly get fatigue from doing any task today. What are your solutions when this happens to you?

Here is what I am going to try today:
Usual b complex, Multi vitamin and Calcium that I take throughout the day every day BUT ADD a potassium and Magnesium
Chicken broth and a little salt in case it's electrolytes--I have not been overdoing the water but yesterday was unusally hot here, 87 degrees. Today it is 73.
Tonight: Take Cal/Mag or Natural calm for sleep
Maybe have some of my lunch time protein and Veggies now for breakfast
    and???

The good news is my losses are great! I am down another .6 today. I have also adjusted my "goal weight" to try to lose an additional 2 pounds if I can to guard against "the Creep" and give myself a life cushion.

I could go to sleep now! Where is my pillow? How can it be only 9:30 AM and not PM????? Ok, enough of that! Back to work!

    Have a wonderful day!

I'm sure you are right, thank you. I'm ICKY today. (But can't look under the bed. I go near it and I'm going to crawl in!)
RK, let me know how the extra vitamins go. I am walking into walls today, too. P

Still here! Week 4 of P2 completed with a 15.4 pound loss, but that includes a few pounds from loading. Round 3 of head cold is almost over, but another PLANNED POWER OUTAGE starts tomorrow! Unbelievable... getting cold and overcast, but still not much rain so everything is SO dry. Haven’t been prepping well while sick and I work extra this week with parent-tracher conferences. Even of they close the school, the conferences are on, so that means I work AND I have an extra sibling. At least I won’t lose income this round...

Still planning at least 2 more weeks of hhcg, and will do planned interruption for trip to San Francisco when we take our daughter to the airport to see her off to Taiwan.

I am at work, so I have to get back to cleaning while the rugrat naps. Sorry I am not more supportive this round. Love reading the few times I have actually accessed a computer.

Oh, and I just noticed I am almost back to my LDW from round 2, two years ago. Wishing I had stuck it out with Jesse B, but at least I didnít gain it all back, and I WILL make it to goal if I persevere from here.

Wow, I hate to say this to all you tired peeps, but this diet usually has me "wired up" after the first week or two! I feel like the energizer bunny! It's 2 a.m. & I really need to go to bed! My weight is coming off slow, but sometimes I don't think I'm eating enough. I'm almost afraid to step on the scale tomorrow as I made 2 pots of sauce & meatballs & I always have to taste to make sure it's ok. Oh well....

Pearly!! 4 lbs? A lb a day? That doesn't sound right but it doesn't sound like you are getting enough sleep! GF, you need to take care of yourself! You are going to end up in the bed next to your mom!! I'm dead serious! You will do no one any good if you are not taking care of yourself. Are you driving? I say, stay at home for a day and take care of YOU! Ok, I'm steppin' off the box....

Tight, you are doing great! Keep it up! How often are they doing power outages by you? How long do they last? Just wondering

Well, maybe I'll go to bed now....

    Sweet dreams & Stay Focused!!
