Lovely Losers 2020 - Absolutely Active in AUGUST!!

Hello to all of the Lovely Losers out there from Coco. This is your thread for August 2020.

This joyful and jubilant group of HCGers have been starting new threads every month for years to prevent people from having to sort through literally thousands of old posts, and making it easier for new people to join in.

Please note as you read through the posts:

We are all in different phases of HCG.
We all use different methods of HCG.
What is right for YOU, is right for YOU and we respect that. We dont judge.
We discuss ALL aspects of our individual journeys to a healthier lifestyle.
And MOST importantly, while we can be a little naughty and nutty (always with humor!! ) we are NICE to each other!!

While this forum has slowed down quite a bit from it's heyday, some of us are still Absolutely Active.

So, whether you are just starting, finishing or are somewhere in between . . . STEP RIGHT IN AND JOIN US!!!

P2D11 weigh-in 245.6. Very pleasantly surprised this morning by a 3 pound drop! The inflammation in the toe I dislocated a few nights ago has gone down, but there wasnt THAT much to begin with... I never even saw a gain from it!

I am excited that my body is treating this as round 1, especially since I am back near my starring weight. There are times almost every day that I momentarily think about eating this or that, trying to rationalize how I can make it work. My subconscious is sneaky. My habits are strong. So is my determination. I will get healthy only by making the right choice EACH TIME. Habits can be changed and minds can be made over. My body is being reshaped. This is a beautiful journey!

P3D9 - The bleu cheese was no problem on Friday, I was only up .4 yesterday. However I had a lot of fat yesterday(Saturday) in the form of baked chicken thighs drenched in chicken fat that I made myself here at home. It was also my highest calorie day since Starting P3. Today am up 1.6 overnight. That's the biggest jump I've had since I started P3.

Today will be my first correction day. I may just do a total fast since I'm kinda tired of eating and thinking about food at this point. Steak days don't work for me, and it looks like I don't need anymore fat that a steak or any other correction day would bring. If I fast, I can focus on cleaning my house instead, and take a nice hot epsom salt bath tonight. I'm concerned that my body seems to jump more quickly by a higher number if I have too much fat than if I even have a smidgen of sugar or dairy.

Does anyone else seem to have this level of "fat sensitivity" - almost as if my body is still sensitive to fat like it is for us in P2?

    Question

What I love about P3 for me is that I dont have a gain from too much fat or protein at all. If I gain, it is either andp electrolyte issue (very obvious symptoms), or a reaction to something I added (seasoning?). If it is just a bowl of pork roast a spoonful of sour cream (one of my favorites), or something like that, I can eat all I want and not gain. Even if I want a big portion of the fat from the edge of the roast instead of the sour cream. I just have to be extremely careful about some seasonings, and keep it simple.

It is P4 that is hard for me!

I can eat plenty of protein and maintain, or even lose during P3. For example I can eat a whole roasted chicken without any added oils or fats (other than what naturally occurs in the meat itself), and lose 1 lb. even on a non correction day. If I slather additional butter, olive or coconut oil on my meats - that seems to be when I have a gain. Yesterday, I added more butter to the fat that baked off the 4 thighs, and had it with a combination of roasted vegetables (fennel, onions, shallots) which were also swimming in butter. I do seem to be sensitive to pork though. Even if I eat fresh pork (chops, steak, loin etc. ), not just bacon - I still go up. If I could eat any fresh meat or seafood that I wanted and not gain, I'd be such a happy camper. I'm a natural meat lover, even more than carbs or sugar - I LOVE MEAT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE!!

It's 7:30 PM, and I wasn't hungry today, but actually a bit "gassy" so I think it's a "too much fat" problem. Wonder if it's related to my gall bladder....

I'll let ya'll know tomorrow how it went.

If you think it is gall bladder related, try taking some papain with your meals. It will help your body process the fats, and may even help with your problem proteins. I think it works even better than oxbile, which is usually what is recommended to help digestion in those with gall bladder issues.

I find I get uncomfortably full if I overdo protein, and the papain gives relief within about 15 minutes, so I know its doing something. I also use it to quell nausea. Not sure why it works for that, but it does.

A little factoid for what its worth: The HCG diet does seem to cause any underlying gall bladder issues to come to the surface. In fact, its rather common to have a gall bladder attack after any long stretch of dieting, not just with HCG.

My sister has had a difficult time with pork (both digestive issues and weight issues) for many years, so she just can't eat it. It made it hard when she lived with us for health reasons before she had to move into a nursing home for 3 years after her stroke. We eat as much pork as we do chicken. Our local market has great deals on both and I am definitely a "tightwad"! Before my mom left and we went into foster care, we had a few acres and raised our own pigs and chickens, so perhaps my love for pork is the nostalgia of my early childhood, before being abandoned.

Yippee! P3D11 - I dropped 3.2 lb. after total fasting yesterday from being too "full of fat" to eat. I am now back down to .4 under LIW. I'm going to continue to take it easy on fats to see if things go back to being as smooth every day as they were before fat overload happened.
