    Good morning.

Up 0.3 lbs today, but I'm ok with it as I barely ate/drank anything Sunday and had had a 2.0 lb loss finally back in the 170s. I ate a little extra yesterday and drank a ton of water. Today I am back at work, 10 hour shifts for the rest of the week and am better at eating/remembering to take my antidepressant which decreases my hunger. I'm starving when I forget to take it.

Hoping to hit 175 by the end of this week fingers crossed! I'm at 178.4 today.

    Hey all! Happy Tuesday!

Cheering for everyone to continue losing so well, or maintaining so well. No time for personals, but I am reading and Liking and Thanking every day (or almost every day). So great to see everyone supporting each other!

AFM: Still between rounds. Around 8 months now. Very close to LDW still - 2.5 lbs below this morning. Planning to do another round in the Fall after all of the summer activities are over. Hoping to get the last bits of jiggly fat off and then maintain in the low 120s.

It has been VERY HOT for the last couple of weeks. I'm wondering if being in 110 degrees for 4 days over the weekend with no A/C has anything to do with being below LDW since we came home. No matter, I'll take it

Everyone, enjoy the rest of your week. Stay cool, safe, and healthy!

One of the key things for me for these HCG rounds is to add in some tiny habits that will enable me to last post plan and keep things off. Losing weight with HCG is not a problem usually. Itís much more difficult to keep it off and thatís primarily to do with body weight set point and my relationship with food. Iím a stress eater. I eat when I am not hungry. I eat for comfort. I also have a very hard time determining when I am really hungry.

My employer offered me a 10 week program which helps to retrain how this interaction with food happens.

Pretty cool program which studies how slim people interact with food then built a program.
I'm going to see if my company offers that. Can't hurt, might help. I agree, after HCG is when the real challenge begins. I like the idea of making small habits that can stick. I feel like I know what I need to do, what works, but I get lazy and bam, hello 20+ pounds. Sign up for that race! After I dropped the weight I joined Orange Theory and that got me into running. I do the Galloway run/walk method..love it! Kept the weight off for 3 years before the 20 on/20 off cycle started. I've done halfs skinny and halfs heavy and oh boy, it's so much better thinner. My last half was this past February. It wasn't pretty but I did it and vowed to get the weight back off. I plan to start walking during the rounds (it's currently 100 degrees still here in FLA so not quite yet) and then I'll run/walk between rounds. The walking during a round at least still gets your endurance up. RnR Vegas is on my running wish list..that one looks very cool!

Late evening post as I took a long nap when I got home today and then was short on time until now!

I wanted to update the group on my medical issue and the dental one... Jessie, you may want to tune out for a moment (TMI)...

I was able to speak with my new ob/gyn about the hcg causing cramping/spotting 8 years post-hysterectomy with only ovaries intact. He tried to blow me off with ďI am not familiar with the side-effects of hcg, and I am not the one who prescribed it for weight loss.Ē I politely redirected him to the fact that the hcg was part of my medical history, but my concern was that I should be seen for an exam because something that should be impossible after my surgery is happening, and maybe we should investigate WHAT part of me was bleeding. He apologized, said he agreed that I needed to come in and said his assistant would set up an appointment. I have not heard from anyone yet, so I will call tomorrow (that was Monday just before closing).

Today I was in to see the dentist for a before office hours emergency visit. I guess the office building decided emergency had a different meaning, because after the dentist spent 30+ minutes getting me numb, the fir alarm started blaring, and we all had to exit the building, down the stairs. I am disabled to some degree, and my knees tend to dislocate going down stairs... so I walked sideways down each step, one at a time... then we waited outside in the smoky and warm air for 40 minutes while waiting forever for the fire department and property management, and then for them to check Out the NOT smoking building. Final determination was FALSE ALARM... When we went back in, the dentist felt she needed to proceed with her previously booked patients and fit me in as best she could... good news was someone ended up cancelling their cleaning and I was able to claim that opening while waiting to get my problematic crown addressed. Finally, it was determined that my crown came out because the underlying tooth fractured. It is salvageable, but will require a new crown. 1 month wait for appointment. Temporary glue, and I have to try to only chew on the left side for a full month if possible and remember to be extra careful flossing as that is how I lifted the crown in the first place. I also have a really old filling that is crumbling that will be replaced at the same time... oh joy! My next stimulus check (if we get one) can just be handed over to the dentist... what an exciting day! 😜

Today is actually P4D1, and I am only 1 lb. above LDW. I actually dropped .2 from yesterday after having roasted leg of lamb (which in the past caused a gain for me).
Since I stopped eating my own chicken - lol!, I've not had another big gain or needed a correction day.

I don't know how much of that is water and bloat since I didn't really gain anything after loading. I feel better on this lower 150 dose instead of 200 but don't feel the 6 lbs lighter yet. Thought I would be lower today because I was sweating unpacking boxes yesterday at work in SC with a busted AC and got 10,000 steps in. Anyways, chugging right a long. A handsome man wants to take me out for dinner and drinks and I'm scared. I don't want to mess up this early but I want to get to know him. He knows I'm dieting but not to what extent. We will see what happens.
I know how it feels wanting to break into a lower number range. I hope you get there soon. You're in my dream range! So congratulations! I saw your post about your handsome man, and that is so sweet he offered to make zucchini and that you were able to trust him with this too.

My very long day yesterday ended up with me hitting my limit about 90 minutes before I was done. I had to finish my errands because only having one car and living so far out in the rurals means you do things when you can! So, I pushed through. It was all made worse because when I took my very first bite of food for the day, at 2pm, there was something very hard in my nice, moist chicken! My back crown came off and my very sensitive tooth stump/nerve was exposed and had chicken stuck to it. I had to rinse and swish vigorously for some time with very icy water (It was 112 degrees out and humid, so that was all I packed!) and I whimpered and cried until I was sure it was clean, and then put the rinsed crown back on. Now I have to get into the dentist asap. My Trigeminal Neuralgia flared the rest of the day, especially every time the hearing aid lady touched my face by accident.

Today was my recovery day, and my brain is adjusting fairly well to the hearing aids. Tomorrow will be busy with both errands in the morning locally, and now extra calls to make as soon as the dental office opens, but I am hoping my inflammation in my feet and back go down in a day or two for another good loss. 235 was a very long-term set-point for me, so I may struggle getting past this on the scale, but not being able to chew easily may help me drop a bit more quickly... always a bright side.
I'm sorry to hear about your long day! What a day, but your overcoming all these trials is an encouragement. You don't give up, and you're resilient, and that is beautiful!

Just an idea. They sell it a drugstores for when you lose a crown....

Glad to read everyone is chugging along. Wow Jessie congrats on that huge drop!

AFM: I am back "on the hHCG wagon". It was a good PI and while I am up I know I will drop it quickly (fingers crossed). The good news is today is the first day I have woken up without a sore throat. I hope to continue to improve my overall health as I had some sort of virus and still am not 100%. Of course, we are all experiencing a heat wave in Southern California, which does not help.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Beachy, I also have Hashimotos. It's frustrating for sure. Lots of good info from Grammy on this forum regarding diet and Hashis. Also Google Stop the Thyroid madness. Good info there as well. It's a journey but doing HCG after I was diagnosed really helped me learn what my body could and could not tolerate, food wise, once I got into P3.
Thank you, Maxi! I'm sorry you have it too, but this is encouraging to hear HCG dieting helped you learn what to eat. I haven't decided whether to start P2 again yet. It's been 2 years, and I gained a lot of the weight back, but not all of it, thankfully. Reading all of your stories is reminding me how awesome P2 is for the weight loss, and it's only a matter of time before I restart. I didn't realize Grammy has Hashimoto's info! I will look! Do you have any books that helped you the most? I've been enjoying the Stop the Madness site, and they recommend a book for Hashimoto's so I will start with that one. I'm on Armour too, just started a low dose. Do you find it easier to take one a day or to split the dose? It might be too soon for me to tell, but I seem to have energy for several hours in the morning, and then I fade fast. So I probably need a higher dose.

After my initial 50 pound weight loss with HCG in 2011/2012, I have done maintenance rounds every year to get off the stubborn 20 pounds that reappears. But this year has been off the charts with weight gain, so I'm back to do more than maintenance. I completed R1 but could have done better (-16 pounds) and just started R2. Have about 6 more pounds to lose to get back to my R1 LIW but it seems to be dropping off quickly (crosses fingers I didn't just jinx myself). My goal is to lose 30 more pounds between this round and a R3. I signed up for some running races (hoping they go!) in February and April and it's really hard to move your body down the road carrying 30-50 extra pounds so that is my goal and motivation to get the weight off. Not to mention like tightwad mentioned, I'd like to "shop my bins" again!
What a wonderful success story! I love hearing how you are keeping the weight off-even in repeat rounds- and running races. I hope this is a great round!

    Thanks Roni!
Yes, heatwave is crazy! It has been over 100 for pretty much all of August. The fires are crazy too. We have smoke blotting out the sky for the last two days. Hoping it helps cool things off, but our forecast is predicting 100s for at least the next week.

Fortunately, we've not lost power - yet. We did get a bunch of alerts from PG&E on Monday, so I had hubby drag out the generator (from the shutdowns last year) and extension cords, just in case. Thankfully, we didn't need them. Also, we are now running the A/C in the morning to get the inside temp down to a comfortable level and then can turn it off in the afternoon to conserve power. My biggest issue is when it doesn't cool down into the 70s at night. I just don't sleep well and end up dragging the next day.

Glad you got your a/c fixed. We would be pretty miserable without it OH! Did you know that we have another forum "neighbor"? Turns out Savannah lives just down the road from me I met her in the Spring when her family was in lockdown and she needed some supplies from town. She is in maintenance right now, but pops in on the forum now and then.

Good luck with your tooth and all. I had a situation about 18 months ago where I thought I lost a filling. Turned out that a molar that had had a root canal about 15 years ago just decided to split in half. Had to have it pulled, but all is well now. Hope your situation goes more smoothly. Also, good job in standing up to your doctor. Sometimes, they just get so full of themselves and seem to forget that WE are the patients. Hope you get all of that resolved quickly too. I would go ahead and call again if you haven't heard back by now.

OK, stay cool and stay safe from the fires too!

    Good Morning Lovelies,

Maxi, Nice to know I’m not the only one slogging away here with Hashimoto’s. Yes I too have found hHCG is the only thing that works for me. I also struggle to avoid the creep! P3 makes me very nervous every time. I read some blog posts by Leez about determining when you are hungry, when you are full. That’s an issue I struggle with. It’s like making yourself stay awake when you want to sleep, for me ha ha but I am doing slightly better at it—an F to a C-. Good luck in your round!

    Jessie, interesting about the muscle!

LinderLou glad you are doing great! I also am living through the heatwave....ugh...

Roni so sorry about the dentist, but glad you are sticking up for yourself with the doctor. Even with female doctors I find I really have to be pushing them to take me as seriously as they do their male patients, and I have worked in the medical field! So keep going!

AFM: I am busy dropping this inflammation weight gain. From my planned interruption. I am thinking ahead to P3 which is always been a challenge for me. It is comforting that so many of you also feel like I do, the losing weight is the easy fun part. Keeping it off is where the real work begins. I did learn on this planned interaction that sugar doesn’t taste as good to me as it used to. It also gave me quite the stomach ache. I have always had a bad sweet tooth, and so breaking my sugar addiction will be a great thing. Going to occasional treats will help. Like so many of us, I am finding the social distance/lockdown/dealing with my elderly parents Needs to be pretty hard mentally. I am making more of an effort to reconnect with friends. But I was just beginning the process of increasing my friends group before Covid, So it is an extra challenge.

Also just a fun P4 tip: I put a teaspoon or so of plain cocoa powder in my coffee. It gives me that Coco taste without the sugar. I think cocoa powder is 30 cal a tablespoon, so it really does not increase things the way a chocolate bar would!

    Have a great day!

    Fondly,
    RK

I can’t have chocolate due to oxalate issue, but I love Sweetleaf Chocolate Raspberry Liquid Stevia! It is my go-to chocolate fix! Even just a little in a 1/4 milk will end my cravings... of course, notright now, during P2! One drop is too strong for the little bit of milk allowed.
