Thread: LOVELY LOSERS 2020 - JOYOUS in JANUARY!!!!

  1. #145
Hello All! Thanks for the nudge Pearly. Welcome Ashley.

P3 day 5. I'm within my window but slowly creeping up. I was pleased that the first 2 days I stayed just below LDW, but then had a .3 increase on day 4 and .8 on day 5. That only puts me 1.2 above LDW so I shouldn't panic, but looking back over notes of previous rounds I could see a running theme: adding lots of little bits of different things like nuts (1 oz) and cheese (1 oz). And fruit (berries 4 oz). And wine (7 oz). In order for history not to repeat itself I am determined to measure everything and observe reactions to foods. I would also like to see if I can eat at the higher end of my calorie range (1900 cals) to see if I really can maintain at that level. I have spent so many years cycling between eating too much or the wrong stuff and then having to do correction days and I don't really know what it feels like to eat the right amount. I don't know what that looks like. So today I am cutting back to just protein and veg to see what happens.

Gray and miserable here in the midwest. Hoping for some sunshine soon, I need some vitamin D!

    Mo

Hey Mo! Sorry for your struggles in P3. You're right, you shouldn't panic if you're still in your window, but I can relate to not liking to see a steady creep, especially if you have struggled in previous rounds.

Make sure to get in your good fats early on. Avocados, olive oil, mayo, hwc (if you can tolerate dairy). Personally, I try to hold off on nuts now until P4. It just seems to work better for me. Not sure how to coach you on eating the "right amount" other than eating slowly and mindfully. One thing that helped me was to terminate my membership in the "clean plate club". That was a tough one, but once you allow yourself to leave food on your plate rather eating it all, it gets easier. I always make sure to have a supply of Ziploc snack baggies handy. That way if I decide I don't want the last two bites of something, I just slip it in one of those and save it for tomorrow. I'm also fortunate to have a DH who has never had a weight problem (damn it) and is not afraid to eat my leftovers

I don't think just protein and vegs are a good plan for P3. At this point the hcg is out of your system, so you need fat from outside sources. Don't be afraid of it. It will also help you bump up the calories without stuffing yourself.

    Just my two cents here...

Sun just came out here for a while. Think I'll go out and get some vitamin D for you!

    Linder,

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I know you are right about not just eating protein and veg, and I should concentrate on adding in good fats. Its terrible how easy it is to be afraid of food. I'm able to tolerate HWC and I have had some avocado and I've been cooking in olive oil. But, I'm also eating a lot of fish and so I end up at the end of the day with a lowish amount of calories. Clearly I can stand to use more oil in salad dressing and drizzling on cooked fish. But, its tempting to try and up calories with nuts and cheese. For now, I'm going to concentrate on increasing oil/avocado and tracking calories and observing how I satiated I feel as I eat. Today I really wasn't all that hungry so I didn't try and force anything but I enjoyed my meals and felt satisfied. Thats got to be the key?

Hope you got a good dose of Vitamin D for me! The weatherman says partly cloudy Thursday and Sunday, but the remainder of the next two weeks will be dismal days of rain and snow . Yuk.

Hey! So VLCD1 yesterday went great! I’m down 2.3 pounds today. Of course, it’s likely water weight from loading, but it still makes me feel better. Today I went to coffee with a friend at a bakery, and I was really dreading it, but they had spinach and boiled eggs with mustard, which was on protocol. So that was a relief. I’m feeling blue from the winter weather, so it’s hard to get motivated, but I keep imagining how I wasn’t to look and feel this summer, and it gets me back on track.

I started at 243.3 pounds, which is tough to see. A few years ago, I was 205 pounds when I came down with a sudden illness. I went up to 256 in 6 months, due to the illness and medication. This was 4.5 years ago. I’m hoping that by my birthday this summer I can be back to 205, before all this happened. I just hate carrying around this weight. It’s like carrying memories of when I was so sick.

But, everyday is a new day. Here’s to a new me!
    ROUND 1

    Pre-loading weight: 245 lbs

    VLCD1: 243.3.
    VLCD2: 241.0 (-2.3)
    VLCD3: 238.1 (-2.9)
    VLCD4: 237.1 (-1.0)
    VLCD5: 237.1 (-0.0)
    VLCD6: 236.3 (-0.8)
    VOCD7: 236.3 (-0.0)
    VLCD8: 234.3 (-2.0)

    Hello, lovelies!
I’m here, too. Lurking. Guilty, as charged.
    Congrats to P2-ers making progress!
I don’t want to even step on the scale... There are a few unusual health and work circumstances contributing to my scale aversion, but I’m not going to make excuses. I’ll do another round soon. At this point I’m waiting for the stars to align so that I’ll be able to focus and be successful.
Keep losing without me and I’ll jump in soon!

Congrats to everyone who is working their way through this. You got this!

Thanks to all who posted. Many of us come here for that one little light shining in our day. I know I do.

My next to last day at work. My boss wanted to take me to an Italian restaurant for lunch tomorrow. Uh. No. Talked her into California Pizza Kitchen which at least has salads I can pick my way through Sheesh.

I have been bouncing around the same place all week. Good grief. Just. Can't. Get. to 10 pounds lost. Saturday I was at 9.8, then up, down, up, down .2, .4, etc. and today I'm at 9.6 lost. Not exactly encouraging. But I know my body was at this exact weight for years, maybe a decade, and while it is not my favorite, it is evidently so familiar, it does not want to leave. It is better to START a round at this weight in order to woosh past it, but I will get there. I know I am not very inspiring to anyone with more to lose if I'm averaging one pound a week right now. However, I am not ready to give up. I'm back in a lot of my clothes, but my summer things are yet a bit smaller cuz I have been yet a bit smaller in warmer weather, so..... Onward!

One more day of getting up at 5:30. I swear, I am never getting up before 7 am for the rest of my life, except to catch a plane somewhere fun.

    P

PS: Well I can't do math worth spit. I am back to 9.8. I was looking at the numbers wrong. NOT 10 tho! sheesh. P

    Hello,

I am back for my 8th round! I lost 80 lbs in 2015. I have maintained most of it, but I gain 20 a year, then do an hcg round and get back to my low weight. For some reason I have not figured out how to maintain totally (I knew that would be my challenge, not losing the weight). I haven't done a round in 2 years, the longest I've gone and I have 20 to take off again. Thank god I don't gain the 80 back, right?! I can handle 20.

This round, I am up and down in hunger. I am already starving at 730 am. I need some adjustment help. I may or may not have loaded enough, but that is long and gone. I loaded last Friday, so this is my 5th VLC day. I have not weighed myself yet, last round I did 2 years ago, I decided to not obsess and I weighed myself at the beginning, and the end, lost 19 lbs.

I stick to the original protocol 500 cals, but I add shirataki noodles. My stomach was very upset for a couple days, I had to take a ton of anti diarrhea pills (too much fiber maybe from shirataki noodles, and apples, veggies), I have a stomach condition so this is a thing. It could be from tea, I don't think my stomach likes tea either, so I"m eating slightly bland for a few days to settle tummy down.

Anyway my NP gave me a 10,000 iu vial and I ordered a short round so I've been taking 125 ius dose or at least I think so. I'm not used to a 10,000 ius vial, I hope I'm not taking the wrong amount. My needles say 1/2 CC U-100 insulin doses up to 50 units. I go to the 12.5 mark (there's no .5 mark, but I go in between lines). This is what I've always done, am I doing this right? My dose feels off, Normally, I take 120, 125 or 130 in my rounds and feel great, lose 15 to 30 lbs on each round.
    Started JULY 2015
    Ended 4 rounds November 2016
    -80 pounds!

I keep gaining 20 to 25 of it back, I take off 5 pounds myself and then I do a round and lose 20 lbs. So I have done a total of 7 rounds. I am on my 8th round, taking the SAME 20 lbs off. ugh. But at least I don't gain 80 back!

    Good Morning Lovelies,

Linderlou so happy to read P4 is going well! That is inspiring!

Twabell: Hope your trip was successful! That is so great about your loss! Was it hard while you were out of town? What tips do you have about being in P2 while traveling?

Mo55: I would add things like dairy in gradually. I would review the P3 rules, maybe also the hcg chica site too, and see what you find. I think nuts are better tolerated without weight gain for me in P4. Also, i wonder if it makes sense to figure out how many calories you can eat in real life? I know if I did 1900 calories a day I would gain, but thats my metabolism. Good luck and I hope things are better today!

Ashley: Hang in there! I am confident you can get down by summer! Good job at the bakery. Eating out is hard, I find I have to choose restaurants and call ahead sometimes...

Kar: Hi! Don't be afraid of the scale. It's probably not as bad as you think, and if it is you will lose it quick once you start. Just don't fall into my trap of "I am going to diet soon anyway so I might as well enjoy ____. That's what happened for an extra 10 pounds, so now I just don't wait because for me the stars never align....

Pearly: Hang in there. I have always had stalls, and especially at an old weight. Here's to not getting up so early! that is hard!

Cupcake: I also have problems maintaining, but every time I learn more and get closer. Sorry I do hHCG pellets, so I can't help with the dose. I would go over to the Leez's Loaders page for February. She always responds promptly and is great on dosing issues.

AFM: down 1.2 pounds yesterday and .6 today. I am 4 pounds away from my goal... I know it will probably be slow losses now that I am post plateau/stall...just trying to get mentally prepared in case tomorrow is not a good drop--but you know me, I am always optimistic!

    Have a great day everyone!

Holy smokes! That’s IMPRESSIVE! May I ask your stats? I’m starting at a higher weight so I’d LOVE to have success like this. Fingers crossed! Keep up the good work! How long do you plan on staying on P2? I’m debating how long to go.

So my 15 year old volunteered to cook. They made prosciutto wrapped chick, green beans, and mashed potatoes. It broke my heart not to eat any of it. But I’m trying really hard to stay on protocol. What was the time you struggled the most to say “no”? That’s the thing I’m realizing: I was confused how I gained so much weight, but it’s because I never say no. And at least once a day there’s an obstacle to eating right! There’s ALWAYS a reason to cheat. The struggle is just saying “no, I don’t WANT that!” I don’t have to eat everything offered to me!!!
