    Good Morning Lovelies,

Happy Monday and how is everyone doing?

    Hi Lakina.

Deanna: Welcome. I am technologically challenged. I think there is a forum post under how to's that explains about tickers.

Pearly: I also suggest a hat. That helps me the most and wow I am freezing. Great job on losing the 5 lbs, I know the rest will come off also!

    Linderlou how is P3?

AFM: I went to the Asian market this weekend and got some cool Chinese Broccolini and some reasonable and very fresh white fish. Pearly, are there any ethnic markets by you? Maybe you could find some interesting fish? Hope your anti Chicken phase is subsiding. Another thought: cheaper cuts of beef have less fat?
I hurt my back yesterday cleaning the kitchen cabinets. See--housework is dangerous AND bad for you ha ha. So no walking today as I baby my back. I had to load again this weekend( Saturday) because my PI went too long. No drop on TESS this morning, but it could be inflammation on my back. I am freezing which means the hHCG is working (I hope). It's a good day to catch up on paperwork here!

Well, stay warm and have a great day!

VCLD13. Holy cow, when I said I was going to remind myself about the 'inches' part of 'Pounds and Inches' during this second week, I didn't know how much I was going to need to hear it. I have lost a measly 1/2 lb in the last 5 days. I don't measure, and I have been wearing loose clothing, so apart from changes I can see in the mirror I actually don't know about the inches. I think things are fitting looser, but I probably need to put on a pair of jeans that were too tight before starting this round and see how they fit. I know it will all even out in the end, but it is such a head trip.

My husband is doing this short round with me so I have been making more effort in preparing meals so they are appealing. I'm pretty easy when on my own, but I have to say it has been good to have dishes that have more flavor and variety. I cycle between orange roughy (white fish from New Zealand), salmon, beef steak, large shrimp and chicken. I'm doing 2.0 so besides more variety in protein I also use any vegetable that is not starchy: broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas, green beans, asparagus, zucchini, tomatoes, onions. I also use grated ginger in combination with a few drops of sesame oil and lemon juice for dressing on chopped salad. This afternoon I made a P2 chili (recipe from this site) and am looking forward to having it for dinner tonight. I am also making beef bone broth in my pressure cooker to use for soups.

Greetings to you all: RK, Linderlou, Gem, Pearly, Jessie, Lakin, Kar, Journey. I hope everyone is doing well. Its pretty quiet. Welcome Deanna!

absolutely, Mo55. If there is one huge piece of missed advice in regards to the HCG diet, it would be to make sure you measure yourself when you start and take measurements once per week at least. I didn't do measurements my first round last year and really regret it. One week in, I am 1 inch down in my thigh, 1 inch in my hips and 2 inches in my waist. The tape is every bit as important than the scale, and possibly more so.

Good luck on your round. I am doing 2.0 as well this round as well as my last. I much prefer it to OP.

Hello Lovelies (and Lad)! Happy Monday and hope everyone is back to reality after the holidays.

I have had a cold since the day after Christmas, so coughing, sneezing and not sleeping well. I'm finally at a point that I'm starting to feel more "normal" again. Started P3 3 weeks ago and was doing well the first couple of weeks staying in my window. This last week, I haven't jumped on the scale, but I feel OK. I think my body is still hanging onto some inflammation from the cold, so I'm not in a hurry either. Tomorrow is P4D1 and I'm not planning on adding anything other than maybe a small sweet potato.

RK - Sorry to hear you've been sick as well and that you've hurt your back. I agree - housework is bad for you! Hope your after PI round works out well for you. I'll be back on P2 in early February if everything works out as planned. Ready to drop a few more pounds before summer!

Everyone else, I'll have to read back a bit, but it looks like lots of activity and lots of losers here! Keep up the great work!

Thanks Pearl. The word popped in my head when I was looking at my tracking spreadsheets from my previous rounds comparing them to my current one. I believe it is important to understand where you are in relation to plateaus when exiting phase 2.

I totally agree on week 2. This is when the real work begins. Roll up your sleeves, put on your hard hat and get ready to battle. Stay the course and trust the process.

    Week 2 Day 1.
I didn't quite make my 6 pound first week, but darned close: 5.6. I'll take it. Already I feel better in my clothes. For sure, for sure, the inches come off instead of just water weight.

I made a green chile chicken soup with unsalted chicken broth, zoodles, riced cauliflower, celery and mushrooms. It is yum. Oh, and 3 ounces of diced baked chicken breast packaged separately so I make sure I get some chicken in every serving. Today back to the beef vegetable I froze last week. Can you tell I'm hungry? I'm thinking about lunch already.

I have a protein drink with me for my breakfast. Last night I was at a meeting where I just drank hot tea, and skipped the cake. I did have a bite of pecan praline. I mean... come ON. Cake you can have just about any time, but home made pralines? To die for. So, fell off a bit. Maybe cost me my last .4 of my 6 pound loss. But as the saying goes... WORTH IT. It's a journey.

I had shrimp and celery Sunday night, skipped dinner last night, will have to figure out something for tonight. I was okay with chicken as long as it was disguised with green chile but am still struggling on suppers. I have PLENTY of tilapia. I need something WITH it. Having so many veggies in my soups I kind of run out of ideas. I do have some cauliflower, so I could try that. It is on P2.0, but it is BETTER on P3, as it takes some butter to make it work. LOL.

Oh well. Much work to do. One time when I was laid off from a job, my boss came in the next day and said, you know you don't actually have to WORK your notice. We just pay you for that much time. You can go home! This time, my boss is pushing as many projects on me as she can to finish before my notice is up! I better drag my feet a little bit so I can have more contract work next month. Ha. Like that would work.

    Onward!

Checking back in this morning and I weighed in at 1.9 over LDW - phew! So onward to P4 (with no real food changes). Planning to load over Super Bowl weekend and then hang in there until my next work trip in early March. That will give me a solid 27 days of P2 and hoping to drop another 10 pounds or so.

Pearly - Good job on only having a bite of the praline. Sounds like you sneaked right up on your round and are moving right along. So sorry about the job situation. If your boss gets too pushy between now and your last day, just tell her if they need you to do all that stuff, they shouldn't have laid you off. When I got laid off many, many years ago, my boss told me that I didn't need to come in during my notice also. So, I stopped coming in. Two weeks later, they offered me my job back and I said "no thanks". I didn't realize how much I hated coming in until I didn't have to. Been on my own and so much happier ever since.

Wilson - I like plateau as well. It makes perfect sense. Thanks for all of the encouragement.

Mo - Inches are a big deal. I don't measure either, but mostly because I'm not sure how to do it. I have a cloth tape, but I can pull it an inch or more tighter in certain areas (waist, thighs) so it just makes it more confusing and frustrating for me. I am happy to watch my skinny jeans get loose. Your creative cooking sounds good! Glad you have company for your round.

RK - Hope your back is on the mend and your restart of P2 is going well.

Everyone else - welcome, welcome back, keep up the good work and Happy Tuesday!

LL - yeah for measurements, just get some soft tailor's measuring tape. I got some free with my last shipment of Triumph drops so I keep it in my desk drawer. I measure a few inches above my belt and a few inches below my belt for waist and hips. The most important thing is to make sure you measure the same spots. I failed to measure my first round and I still regret it. I love to go back and look at stats.

    Hello!

Typing is a bit rough with my back right now so I will make this quick. Thinking of you guys and hope all is well. Glad to see everyone is chugging along.

Pearly, sometimes I cheat is really worth it. And then itís onward with renewed dedication.

I agree about measurements. It helps with motivation.

LinderLou congratulations on staying in your window.

I am down 2 pounds today and so happy about that. Back is bad But better than yesterday.
Take care and stay well everybody.

To PearlyMae and others struggling with recipe ideas: I have to share the most delicious Pho that I made. I made a very lean roast beef on a Sunday and used leftovers to create a Vietnamese pho by steeping cinnamon, garlic, ginger and star anise in a beef broth. I added lime leaves, onion, shiitake mushrooms and some zucchini noodles with some shaved roast beef pieces, garnished with sriracha, lime, basil and cilantro. It was so good that my whole family wanted to taste it and I will be making it for everyone this weekend.

I just cannot eat plain chicken and steamed veggies everyday. I’m Italian so food = entertainment, happiness, family bonding, etc. I have been coming up with some pretty creative ideas. Tonight was spicy chicken fajitas in lettuce wraps with homemade pico and extra cilantro. Really, really miss sour cream though.
