Gem - I live in Cali - foothills of the Sierra Nevada, about an hour from Yosemite. Locally, it's called the Motherlode.

The "storm" turned out to be a non-event for us. We had a good amount of rain (a good thing), it was very cold with some wind gusts, but nothing earth shattering. For the folks silly enough to venture out on the roads, there was plenty of slipping and sliding... duh. It all blew through in about 12 hours. Today, cold and sunny.

Driving in snow does not sound like fun at all! Be very careful!

Hi everyone else! Hope you all have a great Friday and weekend. Keep up all the lovely losing going on around here.

ETA: lakinapook - my "trick" to avoiding massive temptation is two-fold. I have discovered that eating something super sweet, like cake or a cupcake makes my stomach physically hurt for hours and usually results in many trips to the bathroom (TMI). So, over several years I've begun to imagine sugar as rat-poison. Something I would really like to avoid! It also makes the taste of those temptations much less enjoyable and easier to say no to.

    Happy Friday, Lovelies!

lakinapook, it might help to have some flavored water handy to drink during the temptation time period. Some Vanilla or chocolate flavored liquid stevia in a glass of water may feel like a sweet treat.

Hi everyone. Sounds like everyoneís keeping on track. Iím on VLCD13 I canít believe it. Scale says down 8 pounds from SW but Iím also in a cast since original weigh in so maybe like 10 pounds. 7 more days to go. Iím only in yoga pants since thatís all that fits over my pants so I canít really tell from clothes. I should have measured. Some days are easier than others. I am so so so sick of everything I can eat. I hate chicken now. And spinach.

Any fun OP recipes? I found that fixing up tomatoes with some simple girl dressing and putting it on melba toast makes a decent faux bruschetta.

    Happy Friday!

Wilson just posted a spicy meatball recipe on the Men's Forum that sounds yummy. It does have mixed vegetables, so I'm not sure how OP it is. HcgChica has MANY recipes on her website as well. I'm not that into cooking, so haven't tried a lot of them, but they sound good.

Happy Friday Lovely ladies and lads,

Pearly: Yes more is what I think you need. Hope things are going better!
    Deanna: I agree! Good Luck!
Linderlou: How are you feeling? Sending good healing vibes your way and WOW! You are doing great in the P4 land. Glad the weather was not as awful as predicted.
Gem: You did so great on Vacation, I know you can do even better at home. Good luck taking care of your hubby!
Lakina, I have a technique that helps me. I chew very minty sugarless gum. I also brush my teeth and rinse my mouth out with mouthwash. Nothing tastes good with that mint taste so it helps me. Also, I find that when on HCG sweets can make me feel sickish in the stomach for quite a while. Remembering that is helpful for me. Kar's idea of flavored water or even sparkling flavored water is good too. Let me know if that helps, or what you end up doing...it is a tough one that we all face. I too could use tips!
    Hi Kar!

Journey: So so sorry to read about your leg! Linderlou has it right. HCG Chicka and also some posts on the forum, but be careful because some people do not use P2 veggies. I am a fan of garlic powder and other spices. Yesterday I used Curry powder, garlic and ginger as a rub on chicken breasts. I thought it was good. Also, I have been going to Ethnic markets (Asian, Italian, Middle eastern) and finding some fun spices and different leafy greens and veggies (fennel, Chinese broccoli, etc.). I try to vary my proteins, and I find that helps. I freeze a lot in individual servings so I don't really eat the same thing every day. I think that helps me not get sick of things.

AFM: no weight loss today. SO sad as I was (as usual for me) POP yesterday. I am surprised but I am 1 pound away from a weight I was at a long time, so this may be a bit of a challenge. It's ok. Just a humbling reminder that I need to stay focused and vigilant here in weekend temptation land...

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Hi all!

Looks like everyone is chugging along pretty well. I know how hard it can be to resist temptation but I just think: how would future me feel about me eating a cupcake while on P2? Usually the answer is: not too good, so that helps me not do it. I've also cheated EVERY SINGLE TIME I've done HCG (3 times) and while I have been lucky to lose weight, I have never followed up with P3 and just gone from P2 to eating like a frickin maniac. Thanks, emotional eating! So this time, thinking about the future and how I have felt with past cheats/not doing the full protocol has helped me this time. I'm also going to therapy for the emotional eating so that is also helpful!

I am on VLCD 7 and down 3.6 kilos (I'm in Mexico so I'm using kilos!) which equals 7.9 lbs. I also just got my period yesterday! My doctor forgot to tell me to wait until after my period was over :/ I guess if I don't lose enough I can just do a longer round (currently shooting for 21 days.) Also, someone wrote about focusing more on the inches than the pounds, and that was so helpful to me!! I keep thinking: my clothes don't really fit any better... but now I'm thinking: the best is yet to come! Super helpful and, honestly, I don't care if I weigh a million pounds but my clothes fit well and my body feels good!

Anyway, the first few days were easy, but yesterday and the day before I had so many cravings! I even had a dream that I ate an entire pizza! Hahahahaha. Today has been better and I also keep thinking: all the things I'm craving will all be available to eat in moderation once I'm done with the diet!

Thanks all! This group is great!

    Good Saturday morning!

Things have been a bit crazy, so I haven’t been able to check in. It’s nice to come back and see all the activity.

Gem, GREAT job holding steady-ish through the holidays. Even though you are up a bit, you can fix that with a few days of clean eating. Unlike what you might have had to do if you gained 7-10 lbs!

Deanna, thank you for sharing that story. It can’t have been easy, but, wow. You really came out on top. I’m looking forward to hearing how you are doing on your new hcg journey!

Pearly, I hope you figure out your dose. Being really hungry on this protocol is no fun.

RK, good job losing weight while battling a bad back. I’m having back issues too and I find it depressing. What are you doing to treat it? I’m going to a chiropractor for the first time and it seems to be helping a little. I’ve been followed by a spine doc for several years, but he never DOES anything. Just checks me, says ‘keep doing your exercises’ (which I do) and see you in six months. I finally decided to go to a chiro when a friend of mine (who is a veterinarian) recommended him. I’ve always been afraid of the twisting and cracking you hear about, but this group don’t do any of that so I’m feeling hopeful.

Linder, you are a P3/P4 inspiration! I always add things in as soon as I can in P3 because by then I’m dying of food boredom and can’t wait to have variety again. I don’t usually eat a lot of anything, but little bits of a lot of things add up. And then there are the wine calories that add up. I find it no problem at all to track my food in P2 but then it becomes harder in P3 because there is more to track. If I kept it simple like you’ve done it would probably be much easier.

Lakin, how did you do with the cupcake exposure?

Journey, there are tons of P2 recipes on this site, and, as someone else said HCG Chica has some good ones. The P2 Chili that you can find here is really good when you are searching for something flavorful.

Palgal, good for you getting help with emotional eating. I’m sure we all in some form or another could use that too. Let us know if you find tips that would be helpful!

AFM: I’m on day 18 and down 11.3 lbs. Week 2 was only a dismal 1.8 lbs, but I definitely lost inches. I didn’t measure but I began wearing the skinny jeans that were snug at the beginning of this protocol, and they are now loose-ish and comfortable. So, the focusing on losing inches in the second week helped me deal with the lack of movement on the scale. I’ve already lost another 1.8 lbs 3 days into week 3. I’ve got 4 more days of hcg then transition for 72 hours into P3. That puts me eating P3 foods on Friday morning. I can hardly wait!

    Enjoy your weekend everyone!

LOVELY LOSERS 2020 - JOYOUS in JANUARY!!!!

Woo hoo evah buddy. Everyone is Staying Focused, making progress and/or getting Back to It.

I apologize for not doing personals much anymore. I read and empathize w every post and every poster. I seem to always be in a rush these days. Iíll be off that particular hamster wheel soon and will try to do better!

AFM: FINALLY! Down a Whole TWO Pounds overnight! Wooosh! Nothing special to indicate it, just a nice surprise.

I was out of the office all day supervising a video editing project and had only protein all day. I only had a 100 calories in protein left for supper, (2.0 protocol) so I cooked up a hamburger patty, put it into a food processor and made it into ďloose meatĒ and gave all but 2.5 ounces to the dogs.

Meanwhile, I need groceries big time, but found about a half cup of leftover rice cauliflower in the freezer, and onion and a handful of almost dried out mushrooms. I simmer two slices of onion and the mushrooms in water until they were soft, and then put the thawed cauliflower in with them, and added the ground beef. It did not look like much. So I added a can of diced tomatoes and green chili. Simmered it all together with some seasoned pepper and put it in a big bowl. Wowsers. Talk about a refrigerator dinner ó-that is, whatever is in the refrigerator you have for dinner!

I had it ready at 7 PM which is my starving time, but was able to take a good long time eating it. At one point I thought I donít have to eat this whole thingó-But then I remembered I needed the protein and I hadnít had any other carbs, and I would stay well under my 30 g for the day even with what I had, so I enjoyed it. Made sure I drank two glasses of water before I went to bed.

    AndÖ Down 2 today!!

Was I just due after four days of staying at the exact same weight? Or did I finally get my body all the food I needed and have not been getting?

Iíve been eating protein at suppertime, but not carbs, that is appropriate carbs, that is healthy vegetables to fill up. Onions and mushrooms do not usually come to mind for nutrition, but better than Ritz crackers!

Day 12 and down 7.8. Whew.

Canít change ticker in my phone so hope it holds until I can get to it!! Lol

    Onward!

Man, I hate using my phone to post here with Tapatalk. Itís great to read on but not to write. First the AutoCorrect changes about every fourth word so I have to go back and change them, (itís not autocorrect, itís AutoCorrupt!) and then every time I edit it takes me to the top of the page and Iím writing on the bottom of the page so I have to go find my post again. Annoying annoying!

    Happy weekend all!

P4D5 and 1 pound BELOW LDW! Imagine that?!? Also put on my next smaller size jeans this morning and they fit well. When I bought them (about a year ago because they were on sale) I didn't even try them on because the next size larger were still snug. It was more like a "goal" purchase. I have one more size smaller that I bought at the same time that I'm saving for actual goal. THEN, my plan is to get rid of anything that is too large and NEVER go there again. I've already dumped/donated the size 12/14/16 that no longer fit me. The only exception being a pair of 16 jeans that DH wears when he is doing yard work. Sometimes I will just try them on (ha ha) to remind us both that they USED TO fit and now I could almost fit two of me in them. 50 pounds is a LOT of extra weight to carry around. I can't even imagine how I used to get through the day. THANK YOU HCG and Dr Simeon!

OK, off my soapbox now... I hope everyone in P2 keeps losing at a good pace. Stall/plateaus are all part of the process, so don't get discouraged. Just trust the process and you will be rewarded in the end. The great news is that even if things go a bit wrong after your round, you can always do another and still have good results. NOT like any other diet out there... I (and many others on here) have tried just about all of them and this is still the only thing that works! Stick with it kids!

OK, really off my soapbox now and going to get some chores done.

Hi all. So glad I came on here today to read all this inspiration. Iím VCLD15, 6 more to go. Down 10.5 pounds. I have to say I am feeling super discouraged. No one has noticed the loss (not even me) and itís not like I can put on cute clothes with this huge cast. So it feels like all this suffering isnít worth it. I want to cheat and have 2 glasses of wine tonight so badly but I donít know if it will do too much damage with only 6 days left. Iím just going absolutely bonkers with food boredom and no wine!!!! Sorry, had to vent!

    Hi all!

Down 4.1 kilos (about 9 lbs) and on VLCD 9. Time has been going by so slow with this diet! I feel like itís never been this way when Iíve done the diet before, but this forum has been super helpful.

Journey, I know itís hard when you canít see or feel the difference, but I think sometimes it takes time to settle in. It is very rapid weight loss and our bodies can sometimes be shocked and try to hide the changes. Think about your future self and how sad you will be if you cheat and donít end up losing as much as you can! After all, wine will always be there once youíre done with P3! I like to think about it like: Iíve been eating snickers (what I crave) for 29 years...whatís 6 weeks of not eating them?

Another thing that has helped me with the emotional eating is doing something else while
I would normally be stuffing my face! Hahahah, knitting is good when I want to watch a show, otherwise Iíve been reading a lot which feels great!

LinderLou, thank you for participating from the other side! And by that I mean P4. Itís so good to hear from someone whoís still doing well and has been through what weíre still going through. My biggest fear is messing up in P3 or 4!!!

    Thanks all, keep chugging on!
