    If u need a snack just save one of your fruits till after dinner. I eat my fruit for late breakfast and then second fruit for me between lunch and dinner. By dinner i am not that hungry but i eat. Water later in the evening

    Linda - OH, if I could find a sweet potato, I would definitely eat it! And congratulations, your status changed to "Super Member"! That you are.

    I made baked chicken thighs yesterday and mashed potatoes and gravy. I enjoyed a 1/2 cup of the potatoes with @2 TB of gravy. I countered with a ton of water and popped an extra probiotic and..... No gain this morning. There was maybe 3 TB of unbleached flour in the gravy, I made about two cups of gravy total.
    And that will be the extent of introducing new stuff for a few days.

    We just need to get to the grocery store this week. With the Instacart employees on strike, I'll wait. I don't want to cross a picket line. They deserve everything they need to stay safe and provide this valuable service.
    So, we'll be ordering from local restaurants, it helps the economy and it's nice to not have to cook!

    Tracy - I don't think we figured out how many calories in a shenanigan. Only that if you indulge, you'll probably have to pay in some form. Hey, have you considered adding sweet potatoes to your soup/stew? They cook a little faster, so don't put them in too soon.

    Savannah - You are doing so great through all that's going on around you. Glad your neighbor is recovering and that Mr S is doing better on protocol. I like the idea of having your daughter's party in July or something. That way you can go all out And You won't be in P2 and can indulge a little. Some of her friends must be turning 16 as well, so how about a group party?

    RK - You are doing so great at stabilizing! Congrats! When you're done cleaning at your mom's, can you come over here and help me too? You are a good daughter to take care of them so well.

    Anyone I missed... sorry, I'm on my iPad and can't scroll back and forth very well, so working from memory (which is about as reliable as the Internet right now).

    AFM: Nothing new to report here. I am really happy that I decided to postpone another round. It really took some pressure off of me. In fact, I am seriously considering canceling my next work trip, scheduled for the end of April. I don't really Need to go and see my clients in person,and I think it will give them and me some extra precaution.

    Thank you so much for the kind words. Iím supposed to drive down to San Jose for an appointment with a State Internal Medicine specialist 4/28. Iíve waited 4 months for this appointment and today Santa Clara County has 591 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so I have no intention of keeping that appointment if the doctor office doesnít cancel themselves. My husband was taken out of work by a doctor for 8 weeks on account of type 1 diabetes and a splenectomy and Iím not trying to bring it to him from the Bay Area.

    In the last week and a half, Iíve declined visits from my sister (plus 3 kids), my bestie (plus 2 kids), my closest cousin (plus hubby and 3 small ones), and my mother. They all live in a county thatís been hit hard and I just canít chance it. I just keep thinking that if anyone from my household does get it, they will be all alone in the hospital and I wonít be able to do anything for them so...

    Good morning ladies!

    Tracy, mash potatoes and gravy sounds so good right now. Mmmhmmmh....

    Roseanne, your losses combined with age and current weight are phenomenal! Have you decided to stay on board the 40 days, or are you going to re-evaluate this coming weekend?

    AFM, Iím down another pound to wrap up my 3rd week. Since VLCD 1, Iíve lost 17.1 pounds from load, and 14.4 from pre-load. Iím very happy with my progress this round and Iím actually kind of thankful heís moving on. In 48 hours, I wonít be prepping all his food since heís going to transition off and lose the rest through exercise and sensible food choices. Iím anticipating that it will make my life significantly easier to truck on until I donít want to lose anymore.

    I hope everyone is hanging in there and finding the food they need to keep your food choices interesting and flavorful.

    LinderLou: Don't go to see your clients. We are all cancelling meetings and using Skype, Zoom, FaceTime etc. (those things are our new good friends).

    Just really quick so glad to see everyone hanging in there.

    AFM: Problem and question, please reply if you can:
    So today I am up 3 pounds. I was up .6 yesterday but oh my! I think it was chinese take out and Tea Smoked Duck (my favorite but oh so fattening). I had that Saturday and polished off all the duck ( There was a lot of duck. Maybe my favorite unsalted mixed nuts? Too many and those cashews? I am the only one that loves that dish) and leftovers Sunday night. SO today is a steak day.

    Usually on a steak day I (AKA as the queen of black coffee) have half and half in my coffee to last the whole day on a steak day. Of course, there is only 2 of those little tablespoon containers of half and half here. So the question: What else can I put in my coffee that is ok on a steak day? I really don't want to go to a grocery store for one item!Also, does anyone have any steak day tips?

    I donít have the answer for your coffee, but suspect a sensitivity to MSG (unless the restaurant advertises they donít use it. Tea sweetens up nicely with Stevia?

    Trip to the bay area cancelled It's a 3 hour drive in each direction anyway, so I'm not very sad about it.

    RK - Not sure what I would put in my coffee. People used to talk about "bulletproof coffee" on here. It involves a blender and butter and possibly MCT oil. Google it and you'll find several variations.

    So... I was under the impression that you were still below your LDW, so not really needing a steak day. If you're worried about a 3 pound weight gain overnight, it might be that you ate something in that Chinese food that you're sensitive to. I never knew that I had a peanut sensitivity until P3 when I had a 2 pound overnight gain from one Tbs of peanut butter (the real stuff). It went away with just clean eating and extra water drinking in about 3 days. It was just inflammation and water retention. I tested it again a couple of weeks later and had the same exact reaction, so now I know. I avoid peanuts, especially in Chinese food and peanut butter. Lesson learned.

    Linderlou: I have accepted my new lower weight that I have been maintaining at as my LDW. Just like when I use to need to adjust my LDW up ha ha.

    Just love to have cream in my coffee on steak days, but thanks I will look into bullet proof coffee.
