Talking Lovely Losers 2020 - NO NONSENSE in November!!

Hello to all of the Lovely Losers out there from Coco (aka sdwis). Here's your new thread for NOVEMBER 2020.

    SPECIAL NOTE:
We all know how challenging it can be if you are on your HCG Journey during this time of the year. Everyone else is eating to excess with no apologies, and could care less about their weight. If you are brave enough to be in the middle of a round, or just finishing a round at Thanksgiving, you need extra encouragement to stick to it, so HERE IT IS.

If you are lucky enough to be LOADING during this time you have lots of fatty choices, ENJOY!!!!

This joyful and jubilant group of HCGíers have been starting new threads every month for years to prevent people from having to sort through literally thousands of old posts, and making it easier for new people to join in.

Please note as you read through the posts:

We are all in different phases of HCG.
We all use different methods of HCG.
What is right for YOU, is right for YOU and we respect that. We donít judge.
We discuss ALL aspects of our individual journeys to a healthier lifestyle.
And MOST importantly, while we can be a little naughty and nutty (always with humor!! ) we are NICE to each other!!

So, whether you are just starting, finishing or are somewhere in between . . .

    You ARE Welcome!!

Good morning all, hope everyone made it through Halloween unscathed!
Started the VLCD yesterday but was up 0.2 lbs today. Yesterday was like a hell day at work. I did not have a chance to eat, drink or pee and had 11,700 steps by the time I got in my car to go home at 2:15 pm. Today is much slower so I am going to make sure I get my water in and eat my lunch.

I bought a sous vide machine a few weeks ago and finally used it Friday to cook my chicken and oh my goodness! If you can afford one financially/cabinet real estate wise highly recommend. I cooked frozen chicken too.

Hope everyone is ready for another month!

My dad used to do wonderful things with the sous vide. Seemed like a lot of effort to me, though. Glad it's working for you!

I made it through Halloween unscathed because I simply kept the candy out of my house. It was a good choice, though I did feel a little guilty seeing the littles walk on by. But then I thought, candy is terrible for them too!! Anyway. Unscathed. Yes.

I think Wednesday will be my last injection, but I'm not entirely sure. Weight was up a bit today, but again, bathroom issues. Not concerned.

Food has been a bit meager for the past couple of days because of the move. I had food prepared, but not enough, so I've been undereating somewhat for the past two days. Yesterday was strawberries, chili, and shrimp, but no veggies other than the tomatoes in the chili. Friday was chicken and cabbage, forgot fruit!

Oh well. No worse for wear, really. However, I did mostly get my kitchen unpacked this morning, and I picked up some groceries yesterday, so after the painters leave, I'm going to cook myself my first of many delicious meals in my new house! Might actually cook a few: some orange roughy and fennel packets as well as a pot of red cabbage. Looking forward to it. I'm hungry!

Walked my new neighborhood last night at twilight and discovered the loop is about half an hour. So I did it twice. Haven't been getting as many steps as I used to pre-COVID. Yesterday I made it past 12,000 (my daily goal). Very happy with that.

Cheers to November, friends! Looking forward to discovering my LIW and giving P3 a go. . . .

    Good morning!

    Happy November!!!

I came through Halloween unscathed! Lots of candy and cookies on our table (still!), and passed on a cocktail, drinking tea instead, but totally fine with it. Resisting the bacon the day before was much harder! Oh, how I would have loved to just lick my fingers! But I didn't! Only on HCG do I have this restraint because I know it's a plan and I just stick with it.

We just had neighbors come over and pick and drop off goodies at each others' houses. Distanced and safe. Then one of our neighbors is single and lives alone so we plan on adding her to our pod so we can enjoy some holiday celebrations together. She brought the cocktails. We just sat on opposite ends of our dining room table. We have all been pretty cautious.

DivineMissM: Red cabbage is delicious with apple! I add a little nutmeg and cinnamon. Mmmm. Great work on the steps!

Emily: Dehydration does a number on us for sure! You'll probably be down soon! We bought a sous-vide and returned it LOL Too much work, hahaha. Glad it works for you!

Have a lovely remainder of the weekend!

Maybe I have a different kind of sous vide? I filled a stock pot with water, clipped it to the side and set the temperature then put some chicken breast in ziplock bags threw them in the water and set a timer. It took awhile to cook (like an hour and a half) but I always overcook my chicken and dry it out so it wasn't terrible.

Maybe it was the length, yeah. I had bought an Instant Pot insert. I just don't have that kind of time when I can cook it in the IP so much quicker with juicy results!

I haven't posted much this round, but I am on VLCD23, and have lost 9 pounds. I started my new nanny job recently, which is really taking a lot out of me physically. The family I am working for is being very understanding and we have worked out a reduced hours schedule that will allow me to work up to a full 9 hours as I rebuild my strength after not working for 7 months. This Connective Tissue Disorder sometimes makes it too easy for me to make excuses for myself, but also makes it easy for me to overdo things, and set myself back for weeks. After my first 9 hour shift of mostly holding the special needs infant, I woke up with my arms totally locked in spasms that my muscle relaxers would not break for 2 days. We had to pull my arms straight many times, use heat, massage, etc. (No pain meds or anti-inflammatories, as I can only take those for actual dislocations due to my weird reactions to meds.)

Then we were without power for yet another power company Public Safety Power Shutoff, due to fire danger and a high wind event. We were "in the dark" for more than 3 days, and I subluxed (partially dislocated) a rib somehow while loading the woodstove to keep the house warm. It really hurt to breath for several days, and the inflammation, plus fluid retention from my reaction to anti-inflammatory pills caused a huge gain, but it was finally gone this yesterday and took an extra pound with it. I was happy to see my average loss for the round is back up to .43/day, not including the 8 pounds I gained loading. (That would double my losses, but I refuse to count those "easy come, easy go, between round gains".)

I am very motivated to continue for the full round and am staying mostly OP, with the addition of mushrooms and cauliflower on rare occasions. Tonight was one of those nights. I cooked asparagus and mushrooms with my protein, with a bit of homemade bone broth. Very good, and the family had theirs over rice. Tomorrow we will barbecue chicken over more of our cherry wood branches, for some delicious grilled chicken, hcg style! I have 2 full grills worth, so I will be weighing and freezing MANY cooked portions. I portion them at 75-77 grams each, 8 portions per bag, and take one out about every 4 days. My daughter will take one or two, and I add shrimp now and then, with some 95% lean grass fed beef a couple times per round. I have not had the energy to prep vegetables much this round, so I have mostly been eating cucumbers and romaine/cherry tomato salads. Cabbage when I am up to it. Tomorrow should be a big day, but worth it as I am completely out of prepped chicken, and I am down to just a few weighed portions of raw shrimp.

So the past two days havenít gone the greatest for me food wise. Iíve been cooking up toddler foods full of veggies in hopes my little guy likes them. I cook by taste so itís been hard. Iíve cheated but Iíve found some delicious recipes the whole family likes that will be perfect In p3.
My little guys loves these veggie tots that are steamed broccoli, eggs, breadcrumbs (Iíll use almond flour in p3), cheese, oregano and garlic. He also likes similar with zucchini, carrots and cumin. But doesnít like sweet potato with curry. Weird as he loves sweet potatoes. And heíll eat anything once if you sprinkle a bunch of curry on it.

Iím lost as to what day Iím on. I believe vlcd 27. Iíll figure it out tomorrow. Down 16 pounds. Non-scale victory: down from a size 22 jean to 18. Iím wearing jeans I havenít worn in a couple years. And they arenít tight. Iíve noticed a lot of fat loss throughout my tummy and arms. But not my legs. Boo. My legs never really lost fat last time either. Only when I ran/ biked 6 days a week.
We took family pictures as the snow melted and we were able to see the fall colours. Was a very good day.
Down side.... my arthritis is kicking my butt lately. Realized Iíve missed half a week of meds. Boo. And I looked back and realized Iíve had way more skip days of hcg then I should have because I was too tired and forgot. Ugh mom brain. I have 19? More injections.

Was so nice to catch up on everyoneís posts. My sons been asleep since 4 this afternoon and Iím preparing for a long night. Currently drinking my turmeric drink and sitting in front of the heater patiently waiting for him to wake up screaming because Iím not cuddling him. Haha. Morning, all. So grateful to be starting a new week in my new house. I'm so happy to wake up every morning here.

T1ghtwad and Maggie, good to see you here! I guess we're all keeping on keeping on in our own ways.

Today my weight was its lowest ever: 145.2. I still have two more days of injections I think, though it looks like I have more than that left. Not sure it's wise to go beyond the however many days it's been. I've lost count. But I'm talking to the gal at my doc's office who administers HCG tonight to discuss P3 and beyond, so I'll see what she has to say.

OK, so real talk about my body. I've never achieved or maintained a weight this low in my life. I'm thrilled that my smallest clothes fit, and I'm thrilled at how HCG and P2 have changed my relationship to food and hunger. I don't know how that will change once I'm no longer injecting, though I'm anticipating increased hunger, of course, but also hopeful there has been some kind of reset in terms of my metabolism and leptin and insulin responses. Time will tell.

However, what I'm noticing is my body is still flabby. I'm at the top of my healthy BMI range (which I know we all know is bunk), but I can't tell if I need to lose more fat--mostly from my belly and thighs--or if exercise will continue to help reshape and strengthen my body. Again, I guess time will tell, and another round is always possible. Just wondering what your experiences have been, especially with continuing shifts through P3 and P4.

MissM.... Nothing as good as a change of scenery..... Happy for you in so many ways
You should be proud of yourself!

I think give P3 and P4 the time to settle your body and up some exercise and decide in the new year.... as you say... be kind to your body!
