I haven't posted much this round, but I am on
VLCD23, and have lost 9 pounds. I started my new nanny job recently, which is really taking a lot out of me physically. The family I am working for is being very understanding and we have worked out a reduced hours schedule that will allow me to work up to a full 9 hours as I rebuild my strength after not working for 7 months. This Connective Tissue Disorder sometimes makes it too easy for me to make excuses for myself, but also makes it easy for me to overdo things, and set myself back for weeks. After my first 9 hour shift of mostly holding the special needs infant, I woke up with my arms totally locked in spasms that my muscle relaxers would not break for 2 days. We had to pull my arms straight many times, use heat, massage, etc. (No pain meds or anti-inflammatories, as I can only take those for actual dislocations due to my weird reactions to meds.)
Then we were without power for yet another power company Public Safety Power Shutoff, due to fire danger and a high wind event. We were "in the dark" for more than 3 days, and I subluxed (partially dislocated) a rib somehow while loading the woodstove to keep the house warm. It really hurt to breath for several days, and the inflammation, plus fluid retention from my reaction to anti-inflammatory pills caused a huge gain, but it was finally gone this yesterday and took an extra pound with it. I was happy to see my average loss for the round is back up to .43/day, not including the 8 pounds I gained loading. (That would double my losses, but I refuse to count those "easy come, easy go, between round gains".)
I am very motivated to continue for the full round and am staying mostly OP, with the addition of mushrooms and cauliflower on rare occasions. Tonight was one of those nights. I cooked asparagus and mushrooms with my protein, with a bit of homemade bone broth. Very good, and the family had theirs over rice. Tomorrow we will barbecue chicken over more of our cherry wood branches, for some delicious grilled chicken, hcg style! I have 2 full grills worth, so I will be weighing and freezing MANY cooked portions. I portion them at 75-77 grams each, 8 portions per bag, and take one out about every 4 days. My daughter will take one or two, and I add shrimp now and then, with some 95% lean grass fed beef a couple times per round. I have not had the energy to prep vegetables much this round, so I have mostly been eating cucumbers and romaine/cherry tomato salads. Cabbage when I am up to it. Tomorrow should be a big day, but worth it as I am completely out of prepped chicken, and I am down to just a few weighed portions of raw shrimp.
