Lovely Losers 2021- MAKING IT in May!
Happy memorial day weekend Sunday! LOL. Good for everybody that they are having fun and even some posting here.
If someone asked me if I’m a big eater, I would’ve said yes, of course. I can’t eat a lot in one sitting, but I like the 4 - 5 meals a day thing. I’m a grazer!
But evidently I am not a big eater, and I have been dieting for way too long.
I was very hesitant to weigh in this morning. We had a big family steak dinner yesterday evening, and I cooked all morning for my part. I roasted bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, asparagus , and teeny little red potatoes ( and cauliflower but forgot it in the oven and it burned into charcoal! Woops) and sautéed caramelized onions and mushrooms, cut up tomatoes and strawberries, and took an angel food cake with chocolate syrup and Reddy Whip.
So of course my PLAN was to enjoy steak topped with onions and mushrooms, sliced tomatoes and roasted veggies. A small bowl of strawberries w whipped cream for dessert.
Yeah. No!
Of COURSE I had a couple of bites of potato, a half of a half of some garlic bread... and angel food cake with all the trimmings.
I figured I’d be up .... 15 pounds... and also sure I’d had 2000 calories at least.
I’m not very good at estimating. I was down .2, and when I got everything in the tracker, I only had 1245cal for the day. And I put everything down! No wait! I forgot the Tuaca! Thats another 150 calories. So 1395.
What I’m learning is I have a skewed idea on how much food is a lot!
Huh. Who knew?

Quieter day yesterday. But today I have 2 little soldiers down. Penny is huffing and coughing and pouting. Pearl wont put weight on her front paw and stayed in her bed all day yesterday and likely will today. I put some cream in a little bowl as she did not eat at all yesterday and she is considering it. I will have to wash her face later!
Im not sure if either of them have actual injuries or just hurt feelings. My 26 yr old niece brought her year old pup with her. Part Pitty, part Great Dane. Think Pit Bull on stilts with a square jaw and a bark like Darth Vader.
And a terrier personality. Beautiful dog, sweet and funny, but SO BIG and gallumpy.
My elderly sweethearts are not amused.
Rain, rain, rain here. Yesterday it hailed, pea-sized here but golf-balls elsewhere. The constant rain has prevented me from planting all the flowers, ground covers and strawberry plants I bought Friday. Good thing!
Fruit? Dubs, the P2.0 says no fruit but that’s the one thing I think it is wrong on. I can have so many carbs and I feel some fruits, in moderation, are part of healthy eating. So I just count them in carbs. I stick to the same P2 fruits, berries. -- adore them this time of year!! — small apples, and oranges... I forget about grapefruit but it’s on the list.
I do try to keep fruit separate from meals, leaving an hour or two on either side. A lot of P2 and P3 rounds I have cut out the fruits in the past, but adding them back like this last P2 and now in P3 has not slowed my losses or my stability. If I go over my carb count, its because of dairy — or angel food cake — not fruit.
Guilty little secret weapon: Reddy Whip. Not low fat kind or almond milk kind— real thing: on berries. Hey, it’s 90% air.

I seem to go up a little, down a little— but so far only .8 over LDW at the most since correction day last Tuesday.
