    Dubs,
I didn’t get total encouragement from my “shirt-tail relative” on starting a remodel any time soon. She thinks material costs have gone up so much and appliances so hard to get, I should wait until things get back to “normal.” I don’t disagree, but not sure normal will be any cheaper.

    Thoughts?

Ohhhhh there are soooo many things you could’ve gotten into instead of almond butter! I say you did fabulous!

So sorry about your loss. Hectic is the least of it, but yes, it keeps you busy.

    Glad to hear from you!

She's right, we have a construction company and people are having to wait 5-6 months for applicances. And wood cost have gone up and up. Tho husband said yesterday that some lumber has started coming back down a bit. It's crazy. Supply chains of almost everything are going at snail's pace still. Hopefully soon, prices will go down and inventory will grow. I saw on a later post of yours, I think, that you had a foot long hot dog, but minus bread. On P4 I wouldve been tempted to experiment with the bun. or half a bun. I'm going to look into those electric bicycles at Costco. Thanks for update, it sounds interesting.

Charlie, so sorry to hear about Brett's fathers passing. I agree with Polly, there are many other things that would be much worse to eat than almond butter. Keep us posted, youve done so well, you can stablize. Stress really can do a number on you, tho. You start your job soon? I think you said the 28th, so another week to go. A new job is exciting AND stressful. Good luck.

rk, how did your 1st day of p4 go? Did you add anything new? I really didn't, everything I ate I believe was P3 friendly.

JGD, IF you're out there and reading, how P4 going for you? I'm just starting P4 today, and not sure what to do next.

AFM: This morning weigh in was good, down another .2. Last nite went to birthday party, with food and drinks, I had only 1 drink, a peach margarita (I had to drive home and it was strong), and then the food was catered by a Mexican food place so standard soft taco with fixings. Oh, and I did have 1 cupcake, wasn't real big, but definitely had sugar. The Mexican food wasn't all that great. The cupcake was delicious. But no gain, slight down tic, if you can call it that. Over the last week of P3 I did lose 1.6 lbs (not trying) to end P3 1.6 below last dose weight. I find this shocking--as I ended my transition day with .2 of wiggle room. I was sure I would fight that 2 lb window all three weeks. Not sure why this last week I dropped--think because I was really busy and out late 3 nights. Regardless, now officially starting p4. But didn't eat P4 yet. BTW, If anyone is ever looking for fast food to eat, on p3 or P4 I guess--today I had a strawberry roasted chicken salad from Wendy's--changed the dressing to Ranch dressing, instead of a sweet vinegarette. It tasted great! And they had a 0 cal lemonade. I was very pleased. Tonite because of Father's day, we had Outback and I got the Alice Springs Chicken dish--didn't eat the honey-mustard sauce you put over it. It has cheese, mushrooms bacon on top , very good. I looked up calories on-line and it has 780 calories, but I'm sure that includes the honey mustard sauce. I didn't eat that. So I'm figuring I had , generously speaking 700 calories with that dish. I was full and didn't eat the salad or veggies with it--will have tomorrow. Fiigured up calories for the day, breakfast (all protein) approx 300, lunch salad 360 for salad, then 1 package of Ranch Dressing--150 calories, then 700 for dinner from Outback. Total calories for the day 1510, maybe a touch less. So curious to see how it goes in the a.m. If I get hungry I have some strawberries and a little whipped cream I can have later. We'll see. Right now, I feel fine. I know I will need to experiment and add some starches with veggies or breads, which is what I miss most. But still nervous about all that. I just wish I didn't feel the need to worry over every meal and calorie. Maybe that will happen at some point. It's a miracle that I can eat like I am on P3 and not seem to gain. Should be nothing but grateful, but I am nervous and apprehensive. Just had thought, Friday nite I had a chocolate cookie, and then Saturday, had the cupcake--both portions were not large. Maybe sugars will not be my downfall as long as I can control portion and frequency. We'll see. During P3 I did occassionally have a few of the Lily chocolate carmel chips, no sugar added (like you would bake with) with coffee when I was craving a dessert. Had that several times, just a few--and it didn't seem to hurt me. Hmm.
Any one have any advice on what to add first on P4, I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you all Lovely Losers 2021-Just JOVIAL in JUNEl!! I want down to 151.4 today so in range and we had steak at my Brother’s. I did have watermelon and berries but it was so hot and watermelon in like a hot day is heaven. I also found an alcohol free rose from Germany and treated myself and it was refreshing. It didn’t make me want more and I won’t make it a habit but it was nice to have something besides water. Here’s a pic of me and my dad Lovely Losers 2021-Just JOVIAL in JUNEl!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

    Hi everyone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend celebrating or remembering our dads and great men in our lives!

Doing well here and maintaining fabulously. Just ordered my drops which may be too late for starting the 23rd but they have been pretty fast in the past. We'll see.

Great pic, Charlie! I am so sorry about the passing of your father-in-law.

Dubbles, you are doing great! And you even lost some! Yes, it will come. For me, it happened magically with this round. Not counting, just eating well, and having that occasional treat.

Hope to be back later to read up on everyone!

mrsstrong, good for you or your maintenance, and your postitve, balanced attitude with your food intake. My goal!

It's MOnday morning, hope everyone had a great Father's Day with their loved ones, and great weekend all around. AFM: Last week turned out well. In fact, I ended up losing 2.6 over that last week of P3. Started last week at 63.8, now at 61.2 this morning. That is 2.4 under last dose weight. Not going to dwell on it, have already posted--but still not sure why or how. But I'll take it. Hope everyone is healthy and happy this morning. Think we are to have rain this week, which will be good for keeping grass green. Don't have but 1 social event planned for this week, and that's not till Saturday, so will need to plan some meals for this week. Thinking I am in the mood for a burger this week. Still need to figure out what to add with P4. I say that, but have added a couple of things this past week, in small portions--no gains. We'll see.

Leez, do you think it would be too soon to add a piece of Ezekiel bread? Or do you start with only 1/2 a piece?

Dubbs, I think you’ve already started to eat P4. You had a small amount of mashed potatoes and a cookie, a cupcake and a margarita the next night…those are all P4 foods…and you didn’t gain, even lost…congrats! My favorite thing to add in is sprouted grain toast (a FULL slice lol). A sweet potato would be a good thing to add in. Maybe some beans…oatmeal is another good one…funny that you are afraid of the starches when you are eating P4 sugars, I’m the opposite. I think you will be fine as long as you are intentional and mindful of your P4 adds

There is no order that you have to add things. Some add sweet potato first because its grain free. Its also a good choice if you think you are particularly starch sensitive, because it has lots of fiber to balance that out (especially if you eat the skin) and isn't super high on the glycemic scale because of it.

My take on it is that you should decide what starches you want to be eating and add those in the order of importance to you. So say someone doesn't really like sweet potatos, but thinks that is the safest way to start introducing starches. My thought is: why go through the testing if its not something you would like to eat on a regular basis? So if you miss bread, Ezekiel 4:9 bread is a great choice to start with. It is flourless because all the ingredients are sprouted, so you are not hitting your system with refined starches, and there is lots of fiber in it as well

The general way is to test starch tolerance is to decide what a normal serving would be, then the first day you include 1/4 of that. The second day, half, and the third day the full serving. Then you know how much your body can tolerate. But it is also ok to go faster and start with a whole slice. Especially since your couple of tests so far havent caused any problems.

Ezekiel 4:9 bread is also a good choice because its one of those items that almost could be P3 if you think about the sprouted grain as a vegetable. P3 is about avoiding starch--not particularly grain. There is controversy about it, but some have found that they can introduce some Ezekiel bread in the later parts of P3 and do ok.

Sounds like you already know you can use a little sugar here and there, but as you mused, you don't want to make it a regular thing. (I consider refined flours and sugar to be pretty much the same thing, as they affect blood sugar similarly.)

So, numbers and the mind-games they play on me.

P4W2 started Last Wed. I was under LDW and started the week at 129.8. Loved that number! Then, by week’s end, I was actually at 129.0. I’d had the 10 carb 70 cal thin bread twice. Feeling good.

Saturday, I had a perfectly fine P3 style of day including a T-bone with sides of tomato, avocado and my parm artichokes. Some fruit—apple and raspberries, skipped lunch just because busy and looking forward to steak.

Sunday a.m. up 1.2. Whot? Well, still .2 under LDW, and steak is slow to process.

Father’s Day brunch at my sister’s. I knew my brother-in-law was making waffles and I stressed over that for a couple hours wondering if I could show up w my own waffle batter—egg/cream cheese, no flour. Decided I was being ridiculous and made up my mind I’d just have a half of one. Ended up having 1/4. And a half of a small croissant, and later, a 3”x 1/2” tiny pc of cake with frosting.

So I thought I’d totally blown the day, as I was already up 1.2. Decided not to eat anymore the rest of the day but got into pork rinds and sour cream dip late. Finally logged everything into tracker and was stunned that I was under 1200 calories and only 38 carbs. I was thinking I’d had thousands of calories and hundreds of carbs.

So this a.m. I’m up AGAIN and start to panic thinking I’m at the top of my window.

The whole time I was in the shower I was trying to think of a Pre-correction day protocol

I got out of the shower and weighed again, realized, first, I sort of added a pound in my head and even if that was right, I was still .6 inside my window.

And I didn’t Gain 1.2 yesterday, I regained that unexpected loss from Friday. I was at 130.2.

Today, I was thinking I’d gained 1.6 but I only gained .6. I weighed 130.8. My LDW is 130.4. So, while shampooing and obsessing I added wrong and gave myself a fantasy pound.

    Good grief.

So no correction or pre-correction day. Just be a little careful.

    Reindeer games.
