    Hello Lovelies,

    Pearly how is the doggie?

Dubbles I agree sometimes I fall off in the form I think because I just get frustrated by how far off Iíve gone. But pearly and all of us are going to work harder this time on maintenance right! Onward. I say to myself we figured out how to lose weight thatís half the equation weíve mastered. Now, we just have to figure out maintenance. It took me a long time to find hCG homeopathic pellets and drop the weight. So now we got to work on step twoólearning how to maintain. Anyway thatís what I tell myself.

LinderLou Great as always to hear from you and how inspiring that you have stabilized so close to your window! That is what I wish for all of us. I think getting rid of sugar is a great idea. I have a horrible sweet tooth and I find the more sugar I have the more I want. So maybe I will really limit at this time. If you could post again, Do you feel that thatís the one change that turned the tide for you?

I am just getting back from my trip. I will weigh in tomorrow but I hope itís not ugly. I had a large glass of some very beautiful wine. I usually donít drink in P3. Sometimes with restaurant food you ask nicely for their hep in how they prepare things but you got to do the best you can.

My steak day was a success and I lost 3 pounds which put me in my window! I was really not hungry on my steak day. On a rare occasion if I am worried about being hungry (and this is totally rogue) I have been known to take a 12 hour Sudafed which if I take it extremely infrequently will kill all hunger. The better way to do it is to have some cream in my coffee if I am feeling hungry. That little bit of fat from the cream does not affect my weight loss on a correction day. I have also been very successful with a chicken thigh day. I have lost a pound and a half with an egg day but I think I had too much fun adding the cheese and butter in and that affected my losses. However, I have also found that after P3 steak and correction days donít seem to help me or make any difference. I donít know why this is, but they just stop working for me.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I have to go put out some fires here at ďthe salt mineĒ.

    Fondly,
    RK

    Hi again,

    Just a few thoughts

Mrs S very interesting post from that book. I am thinking of reading the weight loss apocalypse book next.

WMama welcome, everyone else, please jump in and join us with a post. This is a wonderful, supportive and helpful group.

Dubbles, peanut butter and peanuts were a huge weight gain issue for me in P3. Peanuts are a legume, not a nut. So if you are in P3 (or have you started P4? ) but in P3 no legumes.... hope that helps.

My back pain is still bad. It gets better and then gets intensely evil the next day. I am finding that the naproxen and Tylenol doesn’t work anymore. I think I am use to it. Trying ibuprofen again but wow it all is upsetting my stomach, even taking it with food. The meds are making it a challenge to figure out the eating and if I am full because my stomach is unhappy with the pain meds....I am doing epsom salt baths twice a day. Hope to rest this weekend (ha ha, good joke RK, who are we kidding?)

Polly hope the doggies continue to heal.
    Have a great weekend!

-Happy Saturday morning everyone! It's still early Saturday morning, hope everyone that wanted to had the opportunity to sleep in this morning My little ones have decided to get up at 7-7:30 every morning, so I'm up and about. It has resulted in earlier weigh-in and upticks I think for a little bit, but now am used to weighing in earlier. And it IS a good morning....was down 1.4 at this morning's weigh in. So now am in my 2 lb window, only .8 above last dose weight. I'll take that, for sure. Thanks everyone for talking me off ledge, ha! I already reported last night that I chose not to do a steak day. I did eat mostly protein yesterday tho--except for 4 strawberries, salad greens (tomatoes-onion), and late last night had about 4 pieces of cut up pineapple. Talk about good--the pineapple tasted like sugar! So healthy, and so tasty! And the 4 bites was plenty for me! Now this may have been just normal ups and downs of first week p3, maybe I had too much salt for those few days before, or maybe it was the cheese in salad and cheese dip on plantain chips I had the previous two days? I know rk, and some others have said pnut butter isn[t on p3, but I've had the sugar free kind on every planned interruption and P3 before without gains, (had some yesterday n celery).. Well see if the down tick sticks tomorrow but will not have cheese again for a while, but plan on keeping in the pnut butter snack. I did try and estimate calories yesterday and at upper end of guestimate I'd say approx 1700-1800 calories It was good Lesson learned for me: don't panic with the fluctuations. It doesn't help, and trust the process, don't immediately think--diet. Maybe think about sensitivities, but don't necessarily cut back to 1200 calories. How many times have we been coached on that from our coaches and each other? Guess I'm a slow learner!

Will check later on everyone! Hope everyone is happy with morning weigh-ins!

Hello lovelies and happy Saturday! My weight has been creeping up, up, up past few days...jumped up 1.2 this morning, so now 1.2 over window....sigh...my eating has been good! I dunno, unless it’s lack of sleep, I haven’t been getting much sleep...at all. I don’t know if it’s anxiety about our upcoming trip tmw or what...we leave tmw morning. Hopefully I can get everything done! It’s stressful packing for a family of 5! We leave early in the morning so I probably won’t be posting for a while...

Well, since you asked, there is no "one thing" that I have changed. I think it is a whole different mindset and way of looking at food. I have never really been a big eater or over eater. More like I eat to live, not live to eat, so going overboard has not really been a problem. The problem, and reason I gained and held on to too much weight is that I went against listening to my body and followed the conventional "low fat, fat is bad for you" advice of the "experts" back in the day (read late 70s, and 80s). Big mistake! With time, coupled with an under performing thyroid, it all amounted to a few extra pounds each and every year. Back around 2000, I discovered Dr Atkins. I relearned what I knew as a child and young adult that fat is not evil and is not what makes us fat. Sugar makes us fat. Around the same time, I was diagnosed as prediabetic. At that point I set out to get healthy again, and one of the things I did was to give up sugar. Long story, but I followed Atkins for about 2 YEARS and managed to lose about 20 pounds- in TWO YEARS! I reversed the prediabetes and settled into basically P3 eating for many years (all against the advice of my nutritionalist, btw, who was still pushing low-fat). Then with age and less physical activity and the accompanying hormonal changes, the pounds started to creep back on. To top it off, one of my hips decided to go totally bad with bone on bone arthritis, further limiting my ability to do anything physical, or even walk. After a year, had surgery and all was good as far as mobility. I was also highly motivated to drop the extra weight to save the other hip, or at least extend the amount of time before it needed replacing too. I dropped about 10 pounds by eating healthy and pretty low carb, but the losses eventually stopped and I knew I needed to do something else. Enter HCG. It is the ONLY thing that works to lose the weight! As you can see in my sig, I've done a few rounds in the last 4 years and have finally gotten down to a weight and size that I am comfortable with. It feels great! My job now is to maintain and maybe shed a few more vanity pounds, but I am not in a hurry. If it takes me a few more rounds to get down and make it stick, that's ok. I am comfortable with what and how much I eat. I don't count calories or clean my plate, just stop when I am full, no matter how good it tastes. I do listen to my hunger queues and eat something if I feel hungry, like half an avocado or some fruit with cottage cheese. I try to get in enough water every day, but sometimes get behind on that.

That said and perhaps a reason I am over my window a bit, my other hip is now starting to hurt more and more. I suspect there is some inflammation going on and I am also not able to walk as much as I would like. Currently trying to get an appt with my orthopedic surgeon, but as with everything else these days, not happening soon. Hoping to get it taken care of around the October timeframe. As for hcg, will see where I'm at after that, but planning to work very hard at maintaining between now and then.

Well, this turned out much longer than I planned! Sorry about that. Hope I answered your question. Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of your weekend! Also congrats on the great job everyone is doing on losing and stabilizing!

That really sucks. I hurt my back years ago and it was so painful. Two things that helped me were chiropractic and acupuncture. Man, acupuncture has come to my aid many times. I hope yours gets better soon!

    Happy Saturday!

Nice drop! I'd watch the cheese and the peanut butter. Some things remain hidden till our bodies clear up of other inflammation. I never knew about coconut for me. I think much like everything else in our bodies: it is not a stagnant machine. Things move and change. Heck, with peanut butter, even the added oils could cause inflammation if they are older and oxidized. Who knows?
Fingers crossed the drop stays! But yeah, no skimping on the amount!

Thanks for sharing your story, LinderLou! I very much relate to this "I am comfortable with what and how much I eat. I don't count calories or clean my plate, just stop when I am full, no matter how good it tastes. I do listen to my hunger queues and eat something if I feel hungry, like half an avocado or some fruit with cottage cheese." I have been much more able to do this during this P3 and now P4, and realize that the snack I have when I feel like eating doesn't have to be a sweet thing. I mean, this has taken me years to internalize! LOL

    P4 Day 4

Maybe my scale is broken? 165 again. This is 4 days in a row, all of P4 basically. How come every little thing seemingly affects you in one round or in one phase, and in other rounds, nothing happens. I am sore, worked out hard yesterday to the point that I needed a spotter for my bench press for the last press of each round, worked in the yard and got sunburned, got dehydrated, and I had two potatoes. *crickets* Same weight.

Well, today I had a slice of Dutch ontbijtkoek with butter. It is kind of like a compact gingerbread cake. And not as sweet as American baked goods. I bought two Dutch treats for Christmas that I completely forgot so we are eating them now. The other treat is an almond-paste-filled pastry that I will probably skip. It is sweeter and something tells me that it may be too sweet for me.

Yvonne, DivineMissM, if you see this: for some reason, I am thinking of you and hope you are well.

    Have a great weekend all!
