Polly, thanks on updates about the girls. It's a day by day thing,, how old are they, if you can remind us? You always seem to be so good when out and about--but you go prepared from what we read. If there is one thing I have given up this year, it has been fast food. I'm like a teenager in ONE respect, I love a good fast food burger and fries. And ate it for lunch, a LOT. Going on 6 months since I've had any of that, except one time a burger and few fries from 5 Guys when out of town with family. Do I miss it? I miss the convenience, but not really the food. Like you, when I'm going to be out most of the day like today, I made it a point to have a portion of tuna salad before going--the dogs went out with me for part of the time, so when I brought them back home, before going back out, had a little more tuna. It really does take planning, preparation, and being mindful of what is good or you, and what isn't. I'm not quite as good at it as you, but I'm tryin!

RK, so sorry that your back is still acting up. Back pain, it is absolutely undeniable when you are suffering from it. Sitting, standing, laying down--difficult to get relief anyway or anyplace. I take Meloxicam everyday, but some days, it's not enough relief, so I add a Aleve, long acting, in addition to the Meloxicam and my daily CBD oil capsule. So I get your staggering meds. Hoping yours gets better--did you say you have or have not tried acupuncture? It may be worth a try. Ab0ut the fruits being eaten separately from proteins and fats, I have no idea if that helps with metabolizing them or not? I think I have read before you should eat fruit early in the day, but with this protocol, I like it late in evening sorta as a dessert. Sure thing, you'll prob find those that support both sides of issue, like almost everything.

Phoebe, have a safe, wonderful, fun trip! Like you said, do the best you can, but this is a celebration you won't have often, at least you hope there won't be multiple weddings for youe son, so RELAX AND CELEBRATE. Have a great time! Hopefully too much damage won't be done, but whatever--it will only be a week celebration! Congratulations and best wishes for the soon to be newlyweds!

Nothing much new here, getting ready to put some asparagus in the oven to roast and have chicken we cooked on grill yesterday. Tasty dinner, and maybe some strawberries for dessert later! Don't feel deprived at all.

PearlyMae - Hope the ladies had a restorative stay at the vet, and glad they had each other for company.

Happy travels PhoebeS! Keep in mind it's the joy of the occasion you'll remember in years to come, not if there was a scale in the airbnb, so relax and enjoy!

Penny ate two Helpings of shredded chicken when she got home today. After a day on Saline and antibiotics and anti-nausea for the antibiotics, she was starving.

I gave her a very small portion to start with and she looked at me like yeah and? So I waited 10 minutes to make sure she was OK and gave her the other half. She snarfed that and “helped” Pearl with her seconds. She goes back for repeat of treatment tomorrow.

Thank you thank you thank you everybody for your support. I know that you lose dogs eventually but I just didn’t think it was time yet for this one. Thank you, Jesus!

I spent the day at Starbucks using their Wi-Fi while I did my freelance stuff. Will probably do the same tomorrow. I wanted one more thing to eat and picked out sweet potato chips. After I paid for them and sat down I read the nutrition part on the back of the package. 2 ounces 33 carbs. Oh. Em. Gee.

I certainly was not strong enough to just not eat them but I had one at a time with lots of time in between and ate, I think, half or 1oz . I threw the rest away as I walked out the door. Whew.

I came home and thawed out and cooked chicken for the dogs, roasted vegetables for me, and Baked wings with blue cheese dressing as a dip. Not sure how I had the energy for that. I think I was going on adrenaline.

Im still eating. I had enough energy to cook— not quite enough to eat!

Made a version of Skinny Paloma. Grapefruit sparkling water and tequila. Awesome!

    Onward!!

So glad Penny is doing better, Polly!

Phoebe, enjoy your trip and the wedding. Just enjoy. Karbee is so right! You are doing great too in your P3!

Well, tonight I had white chicken chili, one of my favorite recipes, and some corn chips. The chili has beans and corn. The last two days I dropped a little and am now at 164. I figured that if the chili is not good for me, I have 4.4 pounds of wiggle room. Should be good!

Good morning everyone from your east coast balloon. This heat. This freaking heat. And cicadas are balls to the wall. Thank you for listening to my nature report.

Anyway, first few days of P4 were rough. Not because of food since I still ate P3. But the carpet installation required massive furniture moving before and after. And it was exercise combined with heat, really poor sleep combined with heat, and heat combined with heat - and I was fully inflamed. My body held onto every drop of moisture it could. I spent about three days 3 pounds over my window, did a correction, Epsom baths, smoothies, high protein days and am finally only .4 over my window.

Glad to see everyone trucking along!

Good morning, Lovelies. I've been lurking, but not posting.

It's great to see this group staying active and everyone hanging in there!

Ms. P, I hope the doggies are doing well today! It's heartbreaking when they aren't feeling well.

AFM, I'm sitting at 1.6 over LDW about 3 months into P4. I do a steak day just about every Sunday whether I need it or not, just because it's convenient to plan it. So I am stabilizing well, but I do wish I had been able to reach goal last round. I still hope to lose the last 4-5 without hcg. My clothes fit, but I really could be leaner in a few problem areas.

Anyway, in case it helps anyone... I did OP last round (instead of my usual 2.0) and I kept eating fruit during P3. Still, everyday I have 2 clementines with lunch and an apple with dinner. I even occasionally eat whole grains. (Gasp!) I mention it because I've been afraid to get anywhere near a carb for a long time. After past rounds of hcg, I've often stayed too keto-ish and my weight would shoot up if I so much as looked at a triscuit. I still pay attention to avoid added sugar, but it's really nice not to be afraid of fruit and other "healthy" carbs.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sounds like you and I are/were in the same boat wrt carbs! Could not for the life of me eat any without gaining or craving and going out of control. This P4 has been simply amazing so far (week1).

I would not want to do a steak day every week though. Are you creeping up slowly in a week's time? That can be an unknown food sensitivity issue.

Good work on coming down! I can't even imagine the cicadas! How long is the hatching season? They live for a day I believe, so hopefully this is all over soon unless they hatch for months. Hope not. Poor creatures though. What a life.

    P4 Day 7

Well, this was a good first week of P4. Still super stable and I was able to have potato, corn, beans, corn chips, and even a bite of a cookie twice. My mind is blown I did not finish the cookies and had more. It is nice to be able to just eat real food and not worry much at all. So far. My hunger is pretty predictable too now so I follow the cues for when and how much to eat. This resulted in 3 meals a day with a handful of nuts or something like that around 4.

I still think that this stable spot is because I was here for so many years after my first rounds of HCG where I lost the bulk of the weight (90# total). I still am not sure if I want to mess with this or try and go down to 150 next round. I do have some areas where I could let go of some flab though. Leez, what is your experience with people stabilizing really well in one round and not so well in the next? Is that common or do most people once they find their groove keep stabilizing fine after each round? What is your personal experience? All those years I was only able to maintain if I stayed P3. Even between the last round and this one because of Covid gains the past year, the cravings and internal disorganization were a mess. All gone now.

Well, here's my story for what its worth. I seem to be rock solid stable 10-15 pounds above where I would like to be.

My last 5 rounds, yes five, were to get back to my magic number. On some of those I seems to stabilize well for a while, on others the regain started soon after P3 ended. I have since come to terms that my body just doesn't want to stay there. So for me, it is not worth it to do round after round trying to keep the same last few pounds off. I'm in the normal BMI range either way, so its not a health consideration. Its just accepting my reality that is the challenge. And not obsessing about a little bulge I'd rather not have.

Its really not that much of a hardship. The peace of mind that you can eat what you need to be satisfied and not worry about gaining is pretty wonderful, as you are discovering.

No one can predict how stabilization will go after a round. We hope that we get that rock solid stabilization on our final round so that it can indeed be a final round. But there is no way to predict it. All you can do is follow protocol and let your body find its leveling point.

It seems that even if you hit your groove through a few rounds, you can still have an "off" P3.

But here is a question: if you have to stay in P3 to stabilize, are you really stabilized? Its not good for your thyroid and adrenals to cut out the healthy starches like root veggies forever, so that is something to consider.

Glad your P4 has been great so far! My weight had been fluctuating a little, hitting over the 2.0 pound window a few times during the several weeks of P4. Good point! It may be a food sensitivity but I haven't been able to pinpoint a potential cause. I stopped weighing every day, so I may not really need to do the weekly steak days but they're easy for me on Sundays, so I've just made a habit of it.
