This is advice based on the protocol: Yes, you should extend your round to 40 dose days if you are able to. It is possible you could lose the maximum allowed 34 pounds in one round, but unlikely. However, if you are like most women in this age group, you will lose 20-25 pounds in a long round. You can then do a round to finish to goal. Very doable. Your best stabilization comes from rounds of 30 dose days or more.
As for tuna, it is specifically mentioned in the menu section of the protocol:
There are those that have tried it and thought it was fine. I would be wary of anything specifically mentioned as not allowed or detrimental. (The example list of detrimentals, inferring that there are more, are pimiento peppers,. Salmon, eel, tuna,
herring, dried or pickled fish are not
allowed.
okra, artichokes and pears.) They tested all manners of foods and chose the ones that worked best with the HCG. Undoubtedly, they eliminated some that were neutral, but they also eliminated items that worked against the HCG. Since tuna is mentioned as not allowed, it would be safest to avoid it. You might lose ok during P2 on an off plan food, but you don't know if it will affect your stabilization later. Once you have had one round done as prescribed, it will give you a base line so that if you want to experiment in round 2, you would hopefully be able to tell what the effect is.
Talk to your clinic about how to extend your round to 40 dose days. I'm sure they will have some kind of option for you.
Good luck on your round.![]()
