Talking Lovely Losers 2021- SENSATIONAL in September!!

Hello to all of the Lovely Losers out there from Coco. This is your thread for a Sensational September in 2021.

Our group has been starting new threads every month to prevent people from having to sort through thousands of old posts. Each new thread is usually called “Lovely Losers” + something witty or gritty (depending on the mood of the day!).

Although we call ourselves "Lovely Losers", we welcome EVERYBODY to this thread - men and women – in all different phases of HCG.

Please note as you read through the posts:

We all use different methods of HCG.
What is right for YOU, is right for YOU and we respect that. We don’t judge.
We are all in different ages and stages of LIFE.
We discuss ALL aspects of our individual journeys to a healthier lifestyle.
And MOST importantly, while we can be a little naughty and nutty (always with humor!! ) we are NICE to each other!!

Most importantly, we are here to support each other! Whether you are starting, finishing or somewhere in between - YOU ARE WELCOME!!

    Morning,
Back again on hcg , down 11 lbs today on day 8 of p2 Vlcd. Just wondering was feeling a bit hungry the last 3 days in the afternoon between
4-6pm. Never has happened before. Using injections 170 iu , wondering if I should drop it down to 150 iu’s to continue.
Planning a long round this time, lost 77 lbs back in 2010 went from a 22-24 to a 14, but I’ve been playing with the same 18-25 lbs the last few years as many of us are, life and hormonal issues .
But I have kept off 52 lbs of my initial loss. Would love to get to 150-140 lbs for my health and my bad back from an accident .
Just wondering what anyone’s experiences are with lowering their dose.
When I first started years ago I was using 177.5 iu , but now I am a smaller person than I was , wondering if the drop to 150 iu’s would be a good place to land so this will be a successful round and hopefully my last .
    Thanks, everyone enjoy your day

    Hi Lili!

I don't have experience with injections but from what I have read here over time is that 170is really high. To figure it out, skip a day and see what your hunger does. Leez will chime in I am sure. And congrats on the loss and maintenance! Great job!

    Lilli,
Skip a day. The most likely thing is your dose is too high, so skipping a day will bring your levels down quicker, as HCG stays in the system for 3 days. Don't just change dose without doing the skip day.

You should feel relief from hunger by the late afternoon of the skip day (assuming you dose in the morning). The next day, drop dose to 150iu.

It is not a given that your dose is too high, since you get the same kind of hunger whether dose is too high or too low. So the skip day is also an insurance to know you are adjusting in the right direction. If you should happen to get hungrier in the late afternoon of your skip day...that is the indicator that tells you to raise your dose.

We do tend to need lower doses as we continue through rounds towards goal weight.

HAPPY FRIDAY! Welcome BACK Lili, hope you get your dose adjusted, I'm sure Leez will be able to help you.

Hi Jeanette and mrsstrong! Almost halfway there Jeanette, 10.5 gone, good for you! Like you I count down my days, regardless of where I am. I have a huge calendar on my fridge, that I mark as vlc day 1, vlc day2, vlc day3, etc....and X it with a big ole black magic marker at end of day. Am I the only person that is obssessed with marking days off!? Ha! Am surprised, counting today I already will have 12 x's on my calendar (but that will count the 2 loading days, so only 10 very low calorie days). Seems this round has been going pretty quickly for me. Down 10.2 from last dose weight from last round (actually weighed a couple lbs more than that after loading, but I'm just going to figure from LDW, easier that way) So even at lower weight HCG still works YAY!.

Rose, you are doing GREAT with all your traveling, you can be proud of yourself! Good for you!

    Happy Friday!

Apolgies to all for not doing personals lately. I do read and cheer! Commiserate! Send encouraging thoughts!

Starting a new job has been WILD. No one here to tell me much about where to find things, what to do, what has been done, who does what, which vendor is which or does what... and so on! I am refinding things I looked at the first week and can make sense out of more of them now. I had no way to put things in context. I hope I am starting to make inroads.

But wow, after 18 months "off" (if being laid off and sitting on my sofa during Covid can be called "off") a work schedule has been close to killing me! LOL. I am there at 8 a.m. Up at 6:30. Yes, I have worked those hours for DECADES before, but not easy to go back to.

Sooooooooooo glad I lost the Covid weight before I started. Also, last year I suffered from extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, brain fog, etc. although I never had Covid. Or at least, never diagnosed as such. I had a three month bout of trachial bronchitis which has taken me over a year to recover from, and slowly all of those symptoms have receded. Six months ago I would not have been able to do this AT. ALL. PTL. And thank you hcg!

So, I was seeing creep and thought I would log my food, and I would cut down on dairy, and I would make sure I got more protein. Yeah. Well. I didn't do any of those. LOL. I dropped from 129.6, which was still a pound under LDW, but was breathing down it's neck, to 128.6 for several days. Today 127.6. Big sigh of relief. I may not hold it, but at least I am just fluctuating, which is natural and a whole lot better than creeping.

I am working for a 'diet doctor' who gets people to eat just about exactly like we do in P3 after they lose weight. That helps a lot that I have 8 years of experience in weight loss and in P3 eating. I've never been this stable, though, and think the break through of finding while i was eating plenty the first few day sof P3, I was doing the scarcity thing as P3 went on and then in P4 I cut back further. That's always when creep started and once I was up about 8-10 pounds I either did another round or gave up and gained 15-20. So I eat more now and do not count calories, watch my carbs but don't count them, eat protein, use cheese as a condimient, mostly, and keep a sharp eye out for sugar. I don't eat bread, rice, potatoes, pasta at all. I don't miss them at all. I have found easy subs for them, but nothing fake. I only eat real, whole foods. Except for franken-ice cream. I keep looking but they all have a billion ingredients and weird things like gum in them. I can't help but keep trying.

Anyway! Hope that makes a light bulb go off for someone and helps you as you look to the future after P2.

    Cheers to EVERY BUDDY!

    Onward regardless,
    P

Hi Pearly, I can SO sympathize with you, getting back to work after a too-long break is tough. And all the new information to absorb - we call it "drinking from a fire hose".

I eat keto (t2d) but I do track - I use the free FatSecret app on my phone.

Re: ice cream: I make my own ice cream and fruit sorbets. I use a Cuisinart ice cream maker; my sweetener of choice is Allulose plus some Monkfruit; and I add a couple of tablespoons of cheap vodka to every batch to keep it from freezing too hard. Of the commercially available ones, Rebel Keto ice cream tastes good, but freezes too hard.

Ice cream is one of those treats I had to figure out. Here's my version.

This makes a great soft serve consistency right out of the Vitamix.

    Single serve (increase as desired):

1 C. frozen fruit (I like peaches or dark cherries)
    1/2 C plain greek yogurt
    1/2 a ripe avocado
    vanilla
    sweetener to taste
good dash of pink salt to balance the sweetener

If you want it stiffer, you can use frozen avocado chunks.

Leez, that sounds delicious. I have Carrie Brown's Keto Ice Cream recipe book; but I substitute my preferred sweetener - she likes Xylitol, which I can't tolerate. Her recipes are more complicated, but many are wonderful. During a hhcg round, I either eat zero fat raspberry sorbet or skip ice cream altogether.

Thanks for the help, going to try and skip a day and see what happens.
Nice to have a group to ask , read and share with. ☺️
