Thank you! Was reading through the other messages and noticed the vodka in your sorbet. I’m definitely saving that recipe!!!

LBB, I add it to keep the sorbet from freezing too hard. It's not enough give the mixture noticeable alcoholic flavor. I modified it from: https://www.lecremedelacrumb.com/ras...ontainer-22820 I use 3 bags of frozen raspberries, and get roughly 1 quart of juice. So 2 - 3 tablespoons of vodka aren't noticeable.

p2d2 done . . . every time I do this diet I find it amazing, how can I not be starving on 482 cals?

LBB, having the kids does make it a little more challenging for sure--as there is always shopping for food, making food, serving food, cleaning up after--so food prep and clean-up is a big part of your day, I'm sure. But I'd just keep reminding yourself it's only temporary, the strictness of P2. Even those without kids still around have to adjust to not snacking in P2, so it's challenging for all of us. BUT it gets much easier into the 2nd week, really it does. I always struggle in week one, with the lessening of food volume and limits on food choices, but by about day 10, I really settle into the routine and it gets so much easier--and my husband is like a kid, always ordering foods I like and asking if I want something, when he knows I can't have it. Annoying. But you can do it. While the extreme restrictions are temporary, some of the limitations and lessons we learn from p2 we need to try and weave into our everyday lives for healthy living and maintenance . That's where Phases 3 and 4 come in. But you can do it, think Positive, use the forum for support and take it a meal at a time. You got this. Hope everyone doesn 't catch Covoid! Good luck!

Good morning all - Happy Labor Day

My raspberry sorbet is churned and frozen, it's the only fruit I allow myself during p2. Zero fat, 42 cals and 6 g carbs, in 1/2 cup.

P2d3: down 0.8 lb from yesterday. Typical for me. The only temptations in the house are hidden away in the freezer - living alone, I can control that.

    Good morning hcg'ers!!

LBB, welcome to this group!! It is an amazing outlet and it is what kept me accountable and motivated during my rounds. I too have a daughter (though she is an adult) and husband I cook for and my husband is a snacker and has a sweet tooth so temptation is always around me. I will never forget when I did this diet 10 years ago when my kids were much younger and I was making their school lunches and I licked the Peanut butter & Jelly knife after I made their sandwiches... YIKES!! It's hard to break those habits when in P2 but that is exactly what P2 is for me in a way... just to break the bad eating habits and of course, to lose weight! Best of luck to you!! I hope you all don't get covid. My family and I all had it in January. Stay well!!

GZ, yum... I may just have to try that ice cream!! Sounds delish!! Looks like you are plugging away in P2.

Dubbs... you have a great attidude!! You always have! I only read back a page and haven't read the other posts in the other group yet but I hope you are doing good and are at peace with your decision this week! With my crazy round, I am actaully pretty amazed that I have stabilized as well as I have so far!! Good luck.

JGD, my go to meals for the beginning of P3 are always greek yogurt w/fruit or bacon and eggs for breakfast, or sausage and eggs. Other then breakfast, I really don't have a very set meal plan.. I probably should, but I really don't. I do try to have salad with dinner and eat an apple a day, or two. Also bought a couple of grapefruit. I read in P & I about eating grapefruit and apples in P3... or at least I think it was for P3. I read it a while ago.

I had a lot of mixed nuts yesterday, also had cheese, had 2 vodka cocktails in the afternnon with a friend but had them early enough to be able to drink plenty of water afterwards. I made a chicken enchilada casserole last night for dinner...was very bloated after eating it so pretty worried to weigh in this am. I am still suffering from these darn mesquito bites.. I found 2 more on me. My husband.... has...ZERO!! My dog was up 2 times throwing up last night, gotta keep an eye on him today. He was able to eat yogurt this morning. Hopefully he is ok. Hope all of your furry friends are doing ok!!

I was down .7#'s this am. Really surprised I didn't have a gain. That puts me at .6#'s above my LDW. I have a BBQ to attend this afternoon where I know there will be lots of food and adult beverages. I am going to try my best to stay P3.

    Happy Labor Day everyone.
Taking it one day at a time!

Welcome and good luck, LBB! I have 4 kids also and it was hard when they were younger. I started ten years ago and came back for maintenance due to Covid pounds like so many of us here! But then, dropping the pounds that first week is so motivating. If it gets too hard you could do a few short rounds or have a PI in between. For some, it works best to do a long round and stick with it. For others, short rounds or a PI helps them to keep going. I have found the latter to be true for me this year.

Have a good day, Karen! I love how surprising it can be to wake up to a loss when we expect a gain. I didn't weigh this morning expecting a gain but maybe I should have! Doubt it would have been down though. I finished the plantain chips made with coconut oil so they would be out of the house.

Yeah, I do that too - finish the bag so they are out of the house! I always forget, "a moment on the lips, forever on the hips"

You are so right! Today was a better day for sure. I’m planning to start weighing on Thursday morning, which will be a week for me. I’m in denial about what I really weigh so I don’t want to look at the real number. But can feel a difference for sure.

GZ, I think I must have been reading too quickly before. I didn’t realize your sorbet was for P2!! Do you mind sharing why you prefer that over the apple or strawberries?

LBB, I don't eat most fruits because they are too high in carbs and sugar. I'm a type 2 diabetic, controlling with keto diet and no meds. Outside of a hcg round, my only fruits are raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and tomatoes. I consider a 1/2 cup of sugar free raspberry sorbet OK for me in p2.

P2d4. Had 499 cals yesterday, no hunger. I won't weigh again until the weekend. I left water running in a sink in my bathroom yesterday, frantically grabbed towels to soak it up. Kinda ruined my enjoyment of my dinner. Got the towels washed and dried and put away, though, before bed. Now I'm cleaning the cabinet, drying stuff that was in it. ARRRRGH!

    Morning All!
Doing ok have now lost 12.3 on day 17 so have 14 days to lose 7 pounds. Hope I get close!

I have been eating one fruit this time and mostly fish for dinner and beef for lunch. I hear ya on the having to prepare dinner for fam while on the diet. Years ago when my kids were home I don't know how I did this diet. I guess if there's a will there's a way. I usually cook hubby a big batch of something so he can eat as he wants but he's very supportive and living in the country there are not many restaurants close by where we are so that helps big time!
Well busy at work so have a great day!
    Jeanette
