Good morning! Lots of P2's finishing up! YAY. Good job, every buddy!

After traveling, etc. I have had less food in the house than if I was in P2 the past few days. STARVING a lot. Finally got to make a Costco run to get some chickens...Penny seems to think I hunt them down and I'm so good at it, they end up without feathers and already cooked! She gets so excited when I walk in with a couple. I tell her look what I caught! I'm Mama the Chicken Hunter! I ordered a few groceries delivered from Walmart, too. I still don't seem to have much to eat around here, but better.

I was up a smidge yesterday after having half of a microwave popcorn bag MOnday night since I was still HUNGRY that night. But back down again today, so nothing to worry over. I walked past a dispaly of tortilla chips at Costco that had big letters saying GRAIN FREE on them, walked past maybe 3 times before circling back and reading the label. Made of cassava flour. chia seeds, chick peas, I think, avocado oil, some coconut flour, nothing that is not on the usual okay list. Huh. So I tried a bag. I forgot to read the carb count or I would probably have put them back, as there are 19 g per serving of 15 chips. But I had maybe 1 1/2 servings which is reasonable, since I had very few other carbs yesterday, and they are pretty good! Taste like tortilla chips --- I think. It has been ages since I had a real one! And no gain, in fact, down to 128.6 today. They do NOT taste like coconut, which was my worry. I gain with coconut and coconut oil so there must not be much coconut in them. Huh. Just sayin'. Something actually Crispy and Crunchy is a treat.

I have made my life more complicated but I think it will work out better. I bought a return ticket from Des Moines back to Denver the day I take Penny in for her appointment. If they do not keep her, I''ll bring her home with me that afternoon. If they say she is a good fit for the surgery, they will keep her and I'll -----uuuuuuuggggghhhhh leave her there in their care, and go home that afternoon. Then I have another ticket the following Saturday. She has to stay 3 to 5 days after surgery day, so if she is ready to come on Friday, I will just have to board her with them a day until I can get there. More likely they will keep her until Sunday or Monday. I will try to visit her, then drive up to my sister's and come back to pick her up on Monday. Then we will fly home.

I will only miss two days of work that way instead of six. I was hoping to work remotely, but I just can't see it working well right now--lots of turnover here right now, not all of the new people who were hired when I was are lasting and the ones that stay are now working different jobs than they were hired for---in other words, CHAOS. And the last thing I want to do is give anyone an excuse that I am not HERE doing my JOB. I really can't afford to take six days off without pay on top of the two I already took. If I were that rich, I wouldn't be working! This way I travel on the weekends and just miss the two Mondays, which would have been hectic anyway and no way I could work 8 hours those days.

So, have hotel booked for one night, rental cars booked for both little trips---this will save me about $1000 on rental cars! --airlines booked back and forth at good rates. Just need to clue my sister in that I am just coming for the weekend, not the whole week.

I also don't have to pack as much or worry about what food I can bring, etc. So yes, easier, but much more complex! Last week I saved my own life by packing freezer packs in the outside pocket of my suitcase and stuffing baggies of chicken thigh meat, grape tomatoes, babybell cheeses and some parm crisps in there. Also a few of the little Diet Cokes inside the bag. As long as it is checked, they don't care. By the time I got luggage and a rental car, I was starved, so was able to unpack it easily and eat while I drove 3 hours to my sister's. No fast food drive throughs, no gas station food, no long stop at a restaurant, and it was ready IMMEDIATELY. That was so helpful! Once I cured that bout of I'm-gonna-die-hunger, I was able to hold the line the rest of the weekend.

    PearlyMae, I'm praying for Penny!

Glad you have your travel arrangements worked out, that can be such a pain.

I have pretty much given up on chip, cracker and bread substitutes. I will eat a sample of the real thing at Costco, but I won't buy them. I prefer to save my miniscule daily carb allowance for salad, to add veggies to stews, and for wine and chocolate . . . Gotta have priorities!

I'm with you, gz, I can pass by the chips and crackers but pass me the chocolate and wine, please.

It's lovely to hear how everyone is going and to meet a few new faces (for me). Hi all! Polly, I hope Penny's surgery goes well, it sounds like you have the plan all sorted to take care of both of you.

AFM, I've been a little up and down in terms of the exhaustion, nausea, and breathlessness. I'm trying to keep on top of the salt tablets but they do upset my tummy, so every time I try to cut back, that's when those symptoms get worse. Thankfully I'm working from home, so I guess I'll just manage the upset tummy as best I can and stop trying to cut back on the salt tablets. I still seem to be losing despite it all, so I'll continue to press on. I'm still on eggs, too. I tried to switch back to chicken and it was not a good time, haha.

Dubbs, to answer your question, a long round for me is the 40 days. Depending on how it all goes, I might stretch it a few more days as I've been skipping a dose each week, and I don't intend to do another round if I can help it - trying to get as close as possible to my goal during this round and then hopefully have a manageable amount to lose that I can work off with exercise and a healthy diet once I stabilize. But I'll definitely take it day by day depending on how I feel, how much my losses have slowed, and whether it seems like my HCG has lost potency.

P2D21, down 0.8lb to 169.8 for a total loss of 15.8 lb so far. This is after a few days of hovering between 171.1 and 170.6 (including one day where I gained a little) so it's great to see the numbers keep going down.

    R2P2: 30/21/22 - 04/21/22. 15.0lb loss. LIW: 152.1.
    R1P2: 09/14/21 - 10/28/21. 21.1lb loss. LIW: 164.5.

Hello everyone, I am back from Texas.

GZ - congrats on heading into P3!! Yay! And keto hazelnut icecream with brownie chunks?? Ummm...YUM!!

Pearly - sounds like a really fun reunion, even though not everyone showed up that you would have liked to have seen, but sounds like you had a great time!! I am praying for Penny Girl that everything goes great!!

Mrsstrong - how is everything going? Darn cocunut oil!! It really is in so many items!! Just got done eating a few plantain chips... of course, kettle cooked in coconut oil!! Will see what the scale does to me in the am!

Starbucks - how are you doing?

2many - sounds like you are doing good on P3, I am the same way, if I over indulge too much, just a few days of strict P3 eating and it seems to even out. I also need to agree with GZ about buying at least 1 pair of pants, if you can afford to, just to keep you accountable, I know when my jeans start cutting into my stomach that it is time to step away and take a good look at what I've been eating. Just something to think about.

Dubbs - you are doing great!! Pizza...twix ice cream!! Sounds like you are doing very well and stabilizing great so far!! We all seem to learn what our bodies can and can't have. Good for you!! I love your new picture by the way!! So beautiful!

Well, as for me, was out of town since last Wednesday. We ate out every day. One night we ate at the Texas Roadhouse, had a hot roll with the cinnamon butter...Oh M..GEE... Yum!! First time I had ever been there and my kids made me eat at least one roll! Also had 3 pieces of baklava another day. Kids got a fancy cappuccino maker for their wedding and had a few fancy coffees everyday I was there...only once with a syrup in it. Had plenty of wine, had about half a snow cone with sugar syrup and a cookie and croissant chicken salad sandwich at The Silos.... Last night I got home after a delayed flight and hubs made spaghetti with meatballs for us, and I ate 5 meatballs and had about 1/4 cup of spaghetti then went on to eat a piece of mango filled chocolate that my sister n law brought home from Brazil. I was in the mindset that I have already screwed up this much, I may as well just keep on going and enjoy this last night before clean eating will need to be started tomorrow!! To say the least, I was pretty terrified to step on the scale this morning, knowing that I didn't drink enough water, I ate carbs...bad carbs and a lot of junk!! But, I figured I need to just do it and take responsiblity for my mishaps. When I left I weighed 151.3, today to my surprise 153.1!! Could not believe it!

LIW was 152.4 Today I am on P4D19 (I think) and at 153.1
Taking it one day at a time!
Today is a good day to have a good day!

    Starting R1P2
    Starting weight 183.5
    R1 LDW 165.7 (25 days of vlcd)
    R2 Start weight 170
    R2 LIW 152.4
    Height 5'8" & 53 years young

    Good morning, Lovelies -

We are totally fogged in, this morning. The leaves have started to turn, maybe 5% to 10%.

P3d1 - yay! Cream in my coffee and butter with my eggs! 137.5#, still above goal but 12# below my starting weight. That's a pretty good round for me, I generally get 8 - 9 # loss. I'm definitely seeing my clothes fit better. I'll take measurements to confirm.

The daily check-in here really helps me stick to the VLCD - 546 cals yesterday for my final P2 day. I was cold last night, I assume from the last of the hhcg in my system.

    Now for P3 and hopefully stability . . .

    Onward!

Phoebe, so glad to hear you had so much fun on your trip to Texas. And really enjoyed yourself. I know some people think you should go and celebrate, and food shouldn't need to be part of the celebration, but for me, I think food is very much a part of our culture's celebrations, and probably everyone's culture. My mom always said food is something the richest person and the poorest person alive can enjoy and appreciate, so true. And you came home within your 2 lb window! Yay for you! So happy for you!

gz, wasn't that cream in coffee like a dessert coffee? Love that first creamed coffee. Welcome to P3. And congratulation on a successful round, losing 12 lb. Good for you! Enjoy P3, and here's to stablizing! I love p3 foods.

AFM: Today is P3, day 21, so tomorrow I will officially be on P4. This morning I went down .8 to 151.4, which takes me 1.8 below my last dose weight, so gives me back my wiggle room. Happy about that. Hope everyone is doing ok. Gettin ready to make a big ole batch of tuna salad. Hubbs and I can eat that in 4/5 days. I'll eat for lunch, dinner or even just as snack. Still loving those Wendy's salads. No longer can get the strawberry chicken salad (only in summer), but the apple-pecan are just as good. Picked up 2 for us for dinner last night, and my husband said, I could actually eat another one of these they are so good. They really are. We use our own dressing, but they are delicious. Try one, if you are on P3, bet you'll enjoy!

Hello lovelies! It’s been a while since I’ve been here. Hope everyone is well.

I’m in another round and doing okay. It’s been tough the last month to stay on track. We lost my dad a month ago due to complications from covid and I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times. It’s been hard.

I plan on taking a PI the end of October for about 5 days and then resume my round. I get to visit my sister with some other family in Idaho for Halloween and very excited.

I gained quite a bit of weight in the last year mostly due to gabapentin to help with neuropathy yet have been off for about two months and have been able to lose more. I’ve lost 25 lbs so far and would like to lose at least another 20 before entering p3. I’ve done longer rounds in the past with hhcg with success so I’ll just listen to my body and go with it probably until Thanksgiving.

Good to be back and can’t wait to see how you have all been doing.

Happy P3, gz! Keto has always been my friend too and it may need to be again. After the second to last round it seemed that more carbs were fine for me. Not so much after the last one. So weird.

Dubbles, glad to hear you are doing so well but ouch, that leg sounds so painful. Healing vibes to you, and enjoy the couch! I hear you on the winter months! I am always glad I am not that social LOL Neither is my husband. We much prefer ordering in and that seems easier as far as staying on track. I can order with a clear brain without being tempted and then, if I don’t order it, I can’t have it. Though I may steal something off another plate I do have a rule: I can only have something that makes me gain if I am back to my normal weight. It seems to be the best tool I have for now. 160s were a lot more stress free for sure! Happy P4 to you!

Samster, I really really need electrolyes in general but especially in P2. I hope you have continued to feel better. I use Biosteel and love it. Even during P2 I made a smoothy with it and strawberry, milk, and collagen powder and loved it.

Polly, that sounds so awesome! 50 years, wow. I have stayed connected with some high school friends too. It is so awesome! Congrats on being so stable! Well done!! I hope everything goes the way it needs to for Penny! Good planning on the food! Wow!

Charlie, that is huge! Don’t forget it! Where are you at in your round now?

Jeanette, welcome to the coconut club. Same for me, even small amounts. And everything granola has coconut. It’s awful. Even a little oil will do it. It’s absurd, really. And gz is right! Buy something in the new size. It is so encouraging and makes you feel so good!

Karen, I cannot believe you didn’t gain and I am sooooo jealous!! But happy for you! It is seriously unfair though!

Natalie, hello! I am so sorry about your dad. My condolences. Be kind to yourself. Comforting ourselves with food is such a natural thing to do. It’s ok. Don’t make yourself feel worse by beating yourself up on top of grieving.
Good luck on your round. Sounds like you are doing a longer round than protocol? I am not sure from reading.

AFM, the weight is down and I am indeed stabilizing around 151. It’s a yay and nay situation LOL I really hoped for 150. I have to be really careful with what I eat which is frustrating. Anything like wine, coconut, salami, plantain makes me jump up so I am pretty frustrated. It comes off, and if I raise my LDW I have wiggle room but I fear the overtime creep upward since I need to be so careful.
I think I am past all the inflammation I have been dealing with so hopefully so that will help. Fingers crossed.

I wonder why you would become more sensitive to carbs, MrsStrong?

Type 2 diabetes runs in my family. Until my 50s, I was always thin; but eventually excess insulin production caused weight gain, insulin resistance and high blood sugar. Controlling my carb intake with keto, allows me to avoid taking t2d meds.
