Dubbles, I'm envious you can eat popcorn and chocolate together . . .

AFM, P3D3 - I wanted to have a steak for dinner, so I made it a steak day . . . Why not? Reduces the guilty feeling of eating a bigger portion than I've had in a month. Plus, it was on sale, as was the slab of baby back ribs I bought - the price of everything just keeps going up . . .

I think that is similar to what I eat, though the chart you posted puts my weight at being too high for my height so that is puzzling. I know it says reference weight but still. I mean, sure I could lose a few more pounds because they are there but I am not sure I should.

The chart I used is this one. I am not sure what I am going to do yet. Kind of want to see what happens if I eat how I am eating right now. Maybe I will stabilize somewhere. I am kind of naturally keto but really want some more freedom as far as carbs and not counting them.

Also had wine with my neighbor last night and her husband set a plate down with garlic bread that he had made and insisted on me having one. I only had a small piece, since I had covid, I cannot handle any garlilc on anything, thankfully I had that excuse, so I didn't go crazy with it. But her and I finished off a bottle, so about 2 glasses of red wine before coming home and making delicata squash with pork chops and a salad for dinner. This morning I was up .4, but down .6 yesterday so I am still within my window, just .5 above my LIW. I guess just finding a balance of foods is key for me, I really do need to start to an exercise though and it is finally starting to cool off here...ahhh, fall is in the air!

Just had to post--I think I need to join the anti coconut oil faction of group. Went to see new James Bond movie last night, and since on P4 decided to indulge in Popcorn for first time in forever--so ordered small popcorn with butter, took a tiny little baggie of sugar-free mini-chocolate chips to eat too. So enjoyed like old days, Candy and popcorn, but in small portions. Didn't think there would be a problem. Ate the entire small bag of popcorn, so good. Weighed this morning. Was up 1.2 lbs to 153.0, still below last dose weight, but up 1.2 from yesterday's weight! Was surprised. Yesterday didn't eat badly--ate salad for lunch, tuna with plantain chips (not a lot) for dinner, then the popcorn at movie. When I saw the gain on scales, goggled movie popcorn and saw that most theatres cook their popcorn in coconut oil because it taste so much better than when cooked with other oils. So maybe I have the problem of being coconut oil sensitive as well. Good to to know, so I'm right there with you mrsstrong, and all the others that are sensitive to coconut. So, in future, think I'll forego the popcorn at movies. I like it, but don't have to have it. Think I can actually have sugar and not have a gain reaction like the coconut oil. We'll see. So today, lots of water, and mostly protein today. Still under last dose weight, so no need for a correction, but lose to get back my wiggle room. Several of the band members and wives are supposed to go listen to old band member and his group tonite, so there will be a little drinking tonite, but I may choose not to drink, and don't want to be out all that late, doesn't have to be an all night thing. Everything opening up, more options, being on P4, it's going to take a lot of self discipline to control choices, to keep gains to minimum or non-existent, which is the plan. Such a beautiful day outside, sure doesn't feel like fall. More like summer still, need to get out and enjoy, it won't last forever. Hope everyone is weighing in as they like and doing well. Have a great day everyone, make it happen!

Hi sweetpea! Good to hear from you, and that you have stablized. Good luck on this round!
Ack! Well, test it out with other foods. Movie popcorn probably has a lot of other stuff on it.

MrsStrong, Reference weight in the chart isn't a real weight; plus they noted the chart is for "medium frame" -whatever that is. I use the 1.2 g/kg column and go by my height. I tend to eat less protein because of t2d; plus I am a lot less muscular than I used to be. So I target minimum of 77 g protein per day.

    Good morning, Lovelies -

Yesterday the skies cleared and the afternoon was really nice, today the rain is back. The grass all around the neighborhood is loving it - bright green, with a sprinkling of red and orange leaves.

P3d4, steak day yesterday, 667 cals, 137.6# today. My "extra" week of P2 didn't give me any losses, but did continue my reshaping.

Thank you Leez, I think your leaving it "hosted" is what allowed me to change the picture to upright it. I wasn't doing something right before, but this time it worked. I may later try with another pic, just to make sure I am able to do it again, because it take repeated times for me to get it, but for now, it is good! Thank you so much! I knew you would be able to help. Just don't understand why this all the time, but guess it doesn't matter. Appreciate your help.

mrsstrong, I don't worry about the charts, I'm always above the weights they recommend for my height. And while I do have few lbs I could lose, I don't think I'd necessarily look better. Leaner, yes--but not necessarily better or all that healthier, just look thinner. I can tell it is going to be difficult enough for me to keep my weight at lower end of 50's as it is--forget about below 150. Didn't get there, and would definitely struggle to keep it there. I like the way you, and Phoebe, and others will try other foods to see how the scales move, how your body can handle the additional carbs. I'm thinking to do the same this p4. Already found out it can't handle movie popcorn. Looked it up--small movie popcorn has about 46 carbs, and of course that is very "iffy", depends on how big a small bag is at your local theater. And then there's the coconut oil. Enough said.

Wanted to share, has anyone had Aunt Millie's Live Carb Smart Hamburger Buns, or whole wheat bread? You can order on line, but I picked some up at Meier's yesterday. Stats for a bun are 50 calories a bun. 1 fat gram, 190mg of sodium, 20 carbs, but 17 gram of dietary fiber, soluble fiber 1 g, insoluble 16 g, and 0 added sugars., 6 g of protein. Ingredients are water, resistant wheat starch, wheat gluten, wheat protein, yeast, oat fiber, allulose, inulin (trivial amt of sugar), soybean oil, salt, vinegar, calcium propionate, vitamin D2, guar gum, calcium phosphate, ascorbic acid, sorbic acid, soybean oil . Really only 2 net carbs and 50 cal. per bun. Leez--mrsstrong, and all you ladies are much more knowledgable than I am about ingredients, any thoughts on this product? They have hot dog buns, whole wheat bread, and the hamburger buns in their Live Carb Smart Line. And they taste really good. I believe gz or someone mentioned the ingredient allulose on the forum the other day--and it is in their products. I've been using plantain chips for tuna since cannot have bread or crackers, seems these products would have less calories and less carbs, do the ingredients seem unhealthy to you all? Would love your feedback. I so miss having bread and product is very good. I didn't have a bun yet, but had two slices of their bread (30 cal a slice) for a tuna sandwich yesterday.

AFM: On p4 have already relaxed eating of carbs. Going to have to watch, at last dose weight this morning. Had dessert last night--so today plan to eat mostly protein and limit carbs to under 20/30. Testing carb limits, but No dessert and no plantain chips for me today. As fall and cooler weather moves in and longer evenings I can see there is going to be a battle with myself, wanting to snack while tv watching and relaxing. Need to figure out how to occupy myself more during long evenings. Not fooling myself, it isn't going to be a cakewalk, or a cake diet, either, for that matter! Happy Sunday!

    Dubbles, Happy Sunday!

We all have different ways of eating to match our metabolism and lifestyle, right? I wouldn't buy those products because I am eating ketogenic to keep t2d under control. Most people don't have that issue. For me, giving up breads chips etc was the better course, than trying to find low carb substitutes. I have never been a big sandwich eater, I'm happy to eat the fillings alone or cut up on a salad. Same with pizza.

There are at least 57 names for sugar additives in foods; and who knows how many for starches? That's the main reason most keto eaters have switched away from processed foods. If I can't pronounce it, and don't know what it is, I don't buy it.

Allulose is a "rare sugar", produced naturally by some fruits. It's not metabolized like table sugar, so it doesn't cause blood sugar spikes in diabetics. I use it as a sugar substitute in baking and ice creams. It's considerably more expensive than table sugar, and it's only 2/3 as sweet. I punch up its sweetness by adding monkfruit or stevia, when making ice cream, pies, or chocolates. I know you like Lily's, I think they have erithritol? I have digestive trouble with that and xylitol.

For evening snacks, try a cup of bouillon or decaf tea instead.

Those weight targets never make sense to me. My weight would need to be 20 pounds lower by most of them and there is no way I could be that and look healthy. It's absurd LOL I have never used them. The Lean Body Mass weight has always made more sense though I just followed the macros based on height.
