Leaner, yes--but not necessarily better or all that healthier, just look thinner. I can tell it is going to be difficult enough for me to keep my weight at lower end of 50's as it is--forget about below 150. Didn't get there, and would definitely struggle to keep it there. I like the way you, and Phoebe, and others will try other foods to see how the scales move, how your body can handle the additional carbs. I'm thinking to do the same this p4. Already found out it can't handle movie popcorn. Looked it up--small movie popcorn has about 46 carbs, and of course that is very "iffy", depends on how big a small bag is at your local theater. And then there's the coconut oil. Enough said.

Wanted to share, has anyone had Aunt Millie's Live Carb Smart Hamburger Buns, or whole wheat bread? You can order on line, but I picked some up at Meier's yesterday. Stats for a bun are 50 calories a bun. 1 fat gram, 190mg of sodium, 20 carbs, but 17 gram of dietary fiber, soluble fiber 1 g, insoluble 16 g, and 0 added sugars., 6 g of protein. Ingredients are water, resistant wheat starch, wheat gluten, wheat protein, yeast, oat fiber, allulose, inulin (trivial amt of sugar), soybean oil, salt, vinegar, calcium propionate, vitamin D2, guar gum, calcium phosphate, ascorbic acid, sorbic acid, soybean oil . Really only 2 net carbs and 50 cal. per bun. Leez--mrsstrong, and all you ladies are much more knowledgable than I am about ingredients, any thoughts on this product? They have hot dog buns, whole wheat bread, and the hamburger buns in their Live Carb Smart Line. And they taste really good. I believe gz or someone mentioned the ingredient allulose on the forum the other day--and it is in their products. I've been using plantain chips for tuna since cannot have bread or crackers, seems these products would have less calories and less carbs, do the ingredients seem unhealthy to you all? Would love your feedback. I so miss having bread and product is very good. I didn't have a bun yet, but had two slices of their bread (30 cal a slice) for a tuna sandwich yesterday.

AFM: On p4 have already relaxed eating of carbs. Going to have to watch, at last dose weight this morning. Had dessert last night--so today plan to eat mostly protein and limit carbs to under 20/30. Testing carb limits, but No dessert and no plantain chips for me today. As fall and cooler weather moves in and longer evenings I can see there is going to be a battle with myself, wanting to snack while tv watching and relaxing. Need to figure out how to occupy myself more during long evenings. Not fooling myself, it isn't going to be a cakewalk, or a cake diet, either, for that matter! Happy Sunday!
I had to worry about charting for a long time and was hoping to be able to get away from doing so. I managed fine after my previous two rounds, but after this last one I have to be so careful with what I eat that I may need the comfort of using them again. We'll see. It was my goal/hope to ditch them! I hear you though: I do NOT look better if I were to use the recommended weight.

The thing about those replacements, Dubbles, is that you just have to try them and see. I think the ingredients are fine if you can do gluten and don't avoid soybean oil.

I track daily . . . I use an app called FatSecret on my phone that has a huge food database and is really easy to use.

I'm so with you on this mrsstrong. If I went by charts I should lose another 20 lbs and I really and truly would look sick if 20 lbs lighter, no joke.

gz, you're a sweetheart, but believe me, when I want to snack, I doubt bouillon would do it for me--I'm not so much a salty person, but a good flavored tea or even coffee is good at night sometimes for me. Sometimes you just really want a treat, ya know? All things in moderation should be ok, I guess. That's the key!

I swear I am still here. Doing better and hanging in there. I had a party for my son and dad last night and allowed myself to eat pork tenderloin, Brussels sprouts, salad and then had crackers and a small piece of cake. I was 159.8 so it wasn’t too bad. Maybe tomorrow. Gonna finish strong and will go for about 32 days.

I get it, Dubbles - but a treat isn't the same to me, as snacking. I broke my mindless snacking habit with my first hcg round, but I still have treats!

Hi all, I've been following along with posts but I'm still a bit up and down energy wise.

I also would find it nearly impossible to reach the weight in those charts. I believe those charts were always intended to be used in population studies rather than as an application to an individual.

I'm having a good round from a weight loss perspective, but I am still struggling with fatigue and food aversion. I'm now having trouble with eggs and apples as well. I've had to go completely off plan, using a high quality protein powder on the occasion when I can't face eggs or meat. I'm ensuring I'm at least matching the calorie, protein, carb and fat compositions as much as possible. I've also added back in the melba toast which has been helping.

I'm at P2D26 and 168 lb, having lost 17.6 so far. I'm feeling a little better today than I have been, so I'm still aiming to reach as close to 40 days as possible. I'm just taking it day by day, but I was very excited and motivated to fit into some smaller clothes on the weekend.

    R1P2: 09/14/21 - 10/28/21. 21.1lb loss.
    LIW: 164.5.

Hi, y'all! I'm back and in the midst of a goofed-up round, trying to get back to a sustainable weight. It's been a bit of a roller coaster trying to maintain since I finished up last spring, but it's all learning, right?

Anyway, I started a round in September, thought I'd keep it to a short one, ending right before a long weekend with BF, totally blew it on the vacay, gained five pounds, then another five when I got home, decided to treat it as a (very badly executed) interruption, started back on injections Friday, dropped the gained weight, and am hoping to drop another seven before the end of these 15 days for the second half of what will turn out to be a 40-day round. We'll see.

But it's all about P3 and P4 as far as I'm concerned. Still really trying to figure out how to live my best life in which I still fit into my skinny jeans. Last spring after losing all the weight I got rid of all my bigger-sized clothes, and now that we're heading into fall (still feels like summer, though!), I won't have jeans if I don't get back down.

I think I've realized 140ish is my best goal. I'd gotten very nearly below 130, but just couldn't sustain it.

According to the body comp scale, all my numbers are healthy even at 155, and I've been working on fine-tuning body composition with heavy lifting for the past few months. Still trying to find the sweet spot with activity as well . . . but I think I'm giving it a bit of a rest for the remainder of this P2 and do it by the book, more or less. The first three weeks of this P2 I went a bit rogue, and it didn't really go well. I guess I had to learn the hard way.

But I've also been researching and playing with keto in the off-season of HCG and think it's probably the best thing for this body. Figuring out how to sustain it long term is the rub, though.

Anyway, glad to see familiar names around here still staying committed to your health and well-being. It's a never-ending journey, isn't it? Cheers to its successful continuation!

    Good Monday morning, Lovelies -

It's a clear morning, rare lately, with an actual visible sunrise. We are expecting a warm day again, amazing for SE Michigan in mid-October.

MissM - congrats on re-starting your round, hope you have a strong finish. There are lots of resources on keto; I think of it as a selective diet, rather than restrictive. I'm planning to re-start my weights when I finish P3, I find heavy exercise counter productive in the midst of a round. I do like being stronger, and I agree, a muscular woman can carry more weight. I went from weights, to running, to menopause and t2d, and went from size 4/6 to 14 . . . back to 6 now, thanks to hcg.

Samster, I'm glad you found a way of eating you can handle. I've never had food aversions, must be tough. I'm impressed at 17# loss - even in my best, first round, I only lost 15#. I hope you finish strong too.

Starbucks, I know you can do it! A cheat day midway tends to motivate me.

P3d5, 1076 cals yesterday, so I'm still on my slow ramp-up. I made the mistake of buying my favorite snack, pecans, yesterday; I'm putting them in the freezer so I'll stop sneaking them, at least until I'm confident I am stabilizing.

I like that language for keto: it's selective rather than restrictive.

I had been playing with various levels of selection that felt overly restrictive, like carnivore, and <10 g of carbs a day. I don't think that served me well in the long run. . . . but I am fully accepting that protein is key for my particular body.

    G'day everyone!

Wow alot of people chiming in with various ways of eating. I get it! We all have to figure out what and when to eat. So complicated. For those that were worried I didn't have pants-no sweat I have been buying as I go but sadly am in between sizes for some labels so I have to be selective. So annoying. I did awhile back, bag up all my 16's tho but my closet is filled with 12-14's and a couple of 10's. Ridiculous. I am trying to incorporate a few carbs nothing crazy I haven't had a big mac or anything. Just every other day try to confuse the metabolism by adding a little oatmeal with blueberries or something like that. The next day fat & protein. So far so good. I have been eating low carb so long and clearly it hasn't worked completely. I guess I'm trying to find something more sustainable for long term. Low carb for me is awesome at first but around the 2nd or 3rd month or so it starts to not work and I hold onto everything. Not to say that I don't eat low carb just not everyday. But I guess its just me.

Good job, Jeannette - getting out of 14/16 and into smaller sizes. It's gratifying to donate all the bigger stuff.

AFM, while I was on the way down, I shopped at thrift stores after donating my 12/14/16s because I was determined to never go back up. Well, then came layoff and shutdowns and 15 lbs . . . I could only fit into one pair of jeans in February, arrrgh! I tried a hhcg round but my head wasn't into it; I ended up cheating my way through a reshaping round and lost maybe 3 lbs. Labor Day I got serious, and lost 12 lbs this round. I'm now at 137.5# and another round should do it. But I gotta get back to my freeweights, too - I have been sedentary for too long.

    Hi, Y'all-

    Total newbie here. Hi!

Thought I'd post and join the conversation. I started R1 at 261.7, and I'm at 243.3, as of this morning. I have a long way to go as this is just Day 12 of 40, but I am getting used to the strict protocol. I am starting to figure out products that can help me stick with this, as I plan to do multiple rounds to get to my goal.

So far, Amazon has graced me with Smooth Move Tea, Apple Cider Vinegar, Bragg's Amino Acids (like soy sauce), Nutritional Yeast seasoning (like parmesan cheese), and drops to make alkaline water.

I also bought four Bare Flavor sauces from my diet clinic, and love the "soppin' sauce" (like Heinz 57), the Asian ginger, and the sweet mustard dressings/marinades. I find the 7-herb Italian a little too bland, so I need to add my own dried seasonings to it to bring flavor.

What products have you found that help you on the P2 strict protocol?

    Thank you for your help!
