Is this a new item in your diet? I don't try new things during VLCD, it's always a risk for a stall.

I haven’t used collagen in P2, so not really sure.

It is. I usually don't add new things, but I saw positive feedback here about collagen, so I figured it was safe.

Thank you!! I can't wait to support each other through this.

Starting day 5 of VLCD. Overall down 5.5lbs over 4 days, but this morning's weight in was a bit disappointing (flat from yesterday). I know these things are normal but you know, when you are working this hard, you hope for results. Oh well, hoping for a good one tomorrow.

Figured it was time to get structured with my eating and hcg has always worked for me before.

    Before load: 232.8
    After load: 238.4 (+5.6)

    VLCD 2: 234 (-4.4) still up +1.2 from loading

Robin, I’ll try lemon juice they next time I’m I eat a salad. Salt and pepper does help.

G2g, I tend to be able to stick with a longer round better if I do a PI. After a few weeks, I get tired and bored. The PI tends to be a nice break and I generally have good losses when I get back on.

AFM, I bumped back up 0.2 after the 2 lb loss yesterday. TOM is due tomorrow and my eyes are puffy this morning. I don’t think I was too heavy with salt, but I do feel like I didn’t drink enough water. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Nothing is safe that is not listed in the protocol. Its always a test. And even if it passes the P2 test, it could have an effect on stabilization later. So adding in anything is a calculated risk. On a nutrition group I'm in there are lots of people that react to collagen with bloating, weight gain, and even joint pain. So even if it doesn't affect the protocol process, there could be other underlying things at work.

Since you got such an extreme reaction, my guess would be that your body doesn't like the Vital Proteins form of collagen. People that react to beef collagen can sometimes use other forms, like marine collagen or chicken collagen. You find out by trial and error. Not something you want to be doing a lot of on P2.

But if you find can tolerate collagen later, its an excellent supplement to consider after you've finished the protocol, not just as a protein source but for healthy skin, nails, hair and joints.

Very interesting. Good thing I didn't order the Glucosamine/Chondroitin Sulfate I was looking at. I'd rather not chance it.

I started taking Native Path collagen soon after starting a P2 round this past year and continued it through subsequent rounds without a problem. I managed to lose 60 lbs.

    Morning all,

another slightly disappointing weigh in this morning. Down 0.4lbs after VLCD 5

    Starting weight: 178
    Post loading weight:180.3
    Current weight: 174.2
    Total weight lost: 5.9lbs

I know any loss is progress but given it's week one, i was hoping for some larger Whooshes! Oh well, it's still the lowest I've weighed in 4 years so must take my wins. Onwards!
