Thread: Lovely Losers 2022 - JOYFUL and JUBILANT in January!!

The ďminiĒ steak day seemed to do the trick in breaking my stall. Today I am down another 1 lb. Iím at my goal of 145. Today is VLCD 31. After todayís injection, I have 3 left. Iím on the fence about moving forward with all 3 of them. I will play it by ear. I am definitely getting antsy to get back to P3 foods as Iím the only one in my house on a diet.

MissCast, itís great that you keep meticulous records of each round like you have. Itís great to know what is normal for you when you are at a slow phase, etcÖ Congrats on a strong 1st week.

Wow thats an awesome thing to have a steak day in P2, might have to try that.

Misscast-I hear ya on the re-losing of previous weight. I get to a certain place and my body wants to camp there.

So today, half a pound not too bad but I knew week 2 was gonna be like this. Fighting for every ounce. If my dog wouldn't get me up every 3 hours to pee I might be able to get some sleep and have a better scale number lol!

    Hi everyone,
I'm back for another round, and wanted to say hello.

I finished my first round and was able to stay within 2 pounds of LIW over the holidays. That was a huge win for me, because I really wasn't sure that I'd be able to put new habits into action with all of the holiday treats around. I didn't eat according to a specific plan, but generally tried to avoid anything with obvious sugar or carbs, and eats lots of veggies and some fruit each day. I'm relieved that I was able to stabilize before starting my second round. Knowing I can keep it off once I take it off has me more motivated for Round 2.

I started loading on 1/1, and so far, I'm down only 7.1 pounds.

During my first round, I was down 13.1 pounds on day 11, so I'm disappointed I haven't reacted the same way, despite following protocol. But then again, I wasn't full of sugar and carbs this time- maybe that's the difference? I only gained .5 on my loading days, and loaded with healthy oils and fats, avoiding sugar and carbs where I could. I hope that wasn't a mistake! The other possible factor is constipation. (Yep, I said it. Gross. Sorry!) It's yucky, but it does seem to be a problem I face on HCG. I'm taking 1000 mg of magnesium daily, and while I think it helps some, it doesn't totally solve the problem. I feel like I need more fiber but am having trouble getting enough on protocol. Any ideas?

I hope I can update again in a week or so and have some better numbers to share. In the meantime, I'll be happy to read about your struggles and successes!
    Thank you,
    Raleigh

Hey Raleighgrl, If you'd like some troubleshooting on your current round, you can start a topic in the P2 forum, or join the loader's thread for this month:
January 2022 Loaders - Snow Buddies

This is a fast moving kind of all-purpose check in group, so it might be a little hard to do that in this topic.

As for the magnesium, don't be afraid to keep increasing dose till it works. It can sometimes take 1600mg or more before you see results. Its safe even at much higher doses. You can also increase VitC at the same time by 1000mg/day.

Savannah - Huzzah on reaching your goal! You must be thrilled.

2many - That's why I do hHCG. It's the only thing that can budge me from set points.

RaleighGirl - Constipation is annoying for sure, and the scale not moving cause you're not is the biggest annoyance! I'm doing fairly well eating steamed broccoli this round. Maybe it will help.

Mineral oil can be very effective as a laxative - I get mine at Kroger. Also, make sure you are getting enough salt - deficiency can cause constipation. I have a cup of salty bouillon or bone broth, to make sure I'm getting enough.

Just a super quick check in. I made Thursday my last injection day at goal of 145. Today, Iím 144.2 @ 50 hour since last dose. I get to increase my calories tomorrow morning, but I have added cream back to my coffee the last 2 days.

    VLCD12: -2.6 lbs
Total loss: 12.4 lbs (not including 5.2 load loss)

Didnít think Iíd get a whoosh during TOM but Iíll take it! Remembering to drink plenty of water and stick to protocol. Iím determined to make it to at least 30 days on hhcg. Iíve done longer rounds beyond 30 days with a lot of success. I get tripped up in P3 and introduce foods back too quickly then go way off track. At least now that Iím sober I donít have the sugars and carbs and other negative effects of alcohol. Itís the sugar and carbs that are tough to curb!

Natalie, great job! And you are right, what you eat is just as important as how much you eat. I know my keto diet helps me manage my T2D; I wonder if it would be beneficial for maintaining your recovery? Also, I ramp my calories up in P3 and I think that helps me stabilize.
