    Round 3 - 6 months later

I'm happy to be back in the saddle! I lost 40 lbs last summer going from 240 to 199 and fell off the wagon in October '21. Things got out of control pretty quickly as I was dealing with personal loss, holidays and medical issues with my husband plus foot problems for myself.

I had quit weighing myself, so when I started last week and stepped on the scale I guess I was relieved that I gained 20 lbs back instead of the whole 40. I hope that doesn't sound stupid, but I felt like I had.

So now I'm on VLC 8 and doing pretty well. Down 8.6, so 11 lbs to go and I'll be back to where I left off in the fall. I did weigh same today and yesterday so I expect a "WHOOSH" for tomorrow's weigh in.

I'm wondering if it would be better to weigh myself weekly? I've done this protocol and know what to do, and I'm strict about it. I figure, why go through this and mess up one day on P2 only to regain what it took you a week to lose? Anyhow, thoughts about weighing?

    PS...glad to be back!

If you get in your head too much with stalls then recommend weighing every week. Sometimes I do that depending on my emotional state. In the beginning I get encouraged but by second week I may skip the scale for several days

JustB, I'm glad you don't have to lose the whole 40 lbs again - that's a daunting task. I wish you success and hope you figure out a way of eating that helps you maintain the losses.

I started hcg because I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and I knew if I didn't lose the weight, I was in for a rough time. The VLCD helped me transition to the keto diet, which has reversed my t2d and has enabled me to keep the weight off.

As to stalls: they will happen. One thing I found helps me, is taking a long, hot bath. It seems to encourage all those greedy little fat cells to release the water they filled up with as the fat was consumed.

Started vlcd on Feb 28 Load weight 163.6 Up almost 20 lbs since last year. Just kept out of control for too long. Medical issues and outside factors not excuse but a reality i let overtake me mentally.
Day 3 vlcd 159.4 down 4.2 lbs. pretty sure water weight but i will take it since if it foes up i take it too.
Taking 25 on needle and seems to be the right mixture. Hoping to get this weight off in one round but since i do not lose quickly it might require two. If i need to do two rounds, i will do second round end of May and prob a short 23 day round second time.
Harder drinking all mymwater this time. Must be the colder weather

I agree with rosanelou- you know yourself best. Since you know the protocol and stick with it religiously (I do the same) and if you know from previous rounds any potential “problem foods” for you, then keep yourself out of your head and weigh as you see fit. This round I weighed once in the middle because the fit of my clothes told the story well enough for me (and I wasn’t ready to face the starting number) and I was content to let my clothes getting looser be enough of an indicator for me until I was ready to face the scale. And then I weighed yesterday, which was my last day of pellets (hhcg), since I need to know that to track against for P3, where I know I need to weigh everyday (and hate it). After so many years of obsessing over that number and struggles with disordered eating as well as struggles with my thyroid levels, stress, loss, injuries, etc. that get in the way - getting over that number and just using it as a data point is a piece of the puzzle I have yet to get clicked into place.

So I say do whatever you think works best for you.

Mitch, excellent numbers, keep it up!

ROSE- I remember you. I, too gain 20, 25 yearly of my minus 80 so here I am back yet again.

I weigh weekly or every 5 days, I just try to no obsess. Just weighed in. I am at VLCD19 and I have 11 days to go. I have lost 15 lbs woo hoo!!! I'm on track to my minus 17 goal. Maybe I'll squeak out more. So exciting.

I will buy a round for May soon bc I heard they are back logged in orders.

I've experimented this time as well. I eat pickles, I condition my hair, use lip balm, use any hand soap and body wash, I got a massage, I drink zevia and propel. I'm still experimenting with zucchini. Otherwise the diet part is strict. All losing as well as any round. So excited that I can loosen my rules a bit.

    Total lost = 24.4 lbs

    Feeling good on day 13!

My first big test is this weekend as we have to go to an out of town hockey tournament. I have had some big anxiety about this as I will have to be incredibly prepared in order to survive this weekend without breaking my diet. I plan to pre-make all of my meals and bring them with me, buy a couple cases of bottled water to bring and avoid all temptation, this will be hard as there will be some team dinners that I may have to attend at restaurants. It also suck because I don't want other parents to think I am an uptight bore who doesn't eat at restaurants (I am a social person who enjoys socializing with alcohol and restaurant foods).

Your losses are good. I lose at much slower pace but better than no loss at all. Good to know about pickles but i will be cautious due to sodium Btw i always used conditioner and makeup so perhaps that is why my losses are slower but first round still were slow and i did the powdered makeup and no,conditioner
Last two rounds i got close to 20 lb gain (16-17 lbs) but mostly i needed 12-15 lbs off. Hoping i get 15 off first round and see where i land on second round. Seems like my dose is fine I mix 2:1 Fertigyn (from overseas) and pull at 25-27
