I have been lurking but now I am back. I had a real thyroid issue where my thyroid, which had been partially working just quit. I gained 9 pounds in a week, called my doctor and went up another 7 pounds while waiting for test results. Honestly I was 5 pounds up and having sudden difficulty dropping that weight—that should have been my first clue. Moving forward I will notice that and being slightly colder. Now the good news is my thyroid medication has been titrated to a good dose. I feel better. Sad news is I am WAY UP on the evil scale—friends we are talking 30 ish pounds and I didn’t even enjoy a lot of chocolate and ice cream on the way here! I am quite disgruntled but happy that my thyroid is better and I can lose the weight. It has been a good learning experience to always be aware of subtle signs that things are off before it gets out of hand.

Fortunately I have a sympathetic doctor who now has me on 3 month following up and labs to keep me stable.

I have not adjusted my ticker yet…..

Hope everyone is doing well and excited to be walking a good path with you.

    Warm Regards,
    RK
Sorry you had to deal with all those issues but happy they are under control. I e been around awhile and I do remember you. Welcome back

OMG, RKthin, I am glad you now have your thyroid problem under control, but how annoying to have that sudden weight gain! Are you planning a hcg round to deal with it?

    Good Morning!

Yes I am starting a round now. Today is P2D1. I could not start a round until they got my thyroid functioning as I would not have lost any weight. I am heavier than I have been in years, but at least I know why...sigh...Onward.

    Have a great day!

    Hello Lovelies,

P2D2 and I am down 2.7 pounds. Wow I have a looooong way to go but I am tracking everything and staying very POP. Leez, Is 30 pounds even do-able in one round? Or am I looking at 2-3 rounds? Just asking so I can manage my expectations. Although, now that my thyroid is working properly I may be getting some metabolic help?

How is everyone doing? Where is everyone? Waiting until after the holidays?
    Warmly,
    RK

Wow, it's been a LOOOOONG time since I've been here, but I'm so glad this forum is still here! It was my lifeline back in 2012-2013 when I was doing rounds. The last time I did a round was 2 years ago but at P2D20 I had an abcessed tooth that required heavy antibiotics and oral surgery...so I had to cut that round short AND had to eat crackers and other foods while taking strong antibiotics and pain meds after surgery. It didn't take long for the weight to come back after that.

This round I'm trying to get back to a healthier weight after 6 years of doctors doing all the tests to tell me that all my numbers look normal so I must just be normal and need to work out more or cut more calories, despite regular exercise and a low calorie diet. (For someone who normally hangs out at 140 to gain 60 lbs over 2 years while eating healthy and moderate exercise daily is NOT normal in my book.)
5 years ago I had my gall bladder removed so I'm wondering if anyone knows if that will affect or change anything with HCG.
Aside from that, I am P2D2 and dealing with the detox headache. I know it will pass in a couple days but it's not fun. I also struggle because I do not like fish and that leaves 30 days of chicken and beef. I'm allergic to tomatoes, rosemary, sage, and can't eat anything spicy, so that REALLY limits my menu options. Menu boredom hits me but I do have willpower to follow through and I've always had great results.
I'm looking forward to doing this round with anyone getting started here in September and getting insight from those who have been here before.

Hi, RK! I've done several rounds before and consistently lost right around the 25 lb mark each time. I had one round that I lost 29lbs so it IS possible to hit that 30. My longest round was 36 days before I was so ready to be done that I stopped. How many days are you planning for this round? Avoid cheating above all. It's really frustrating to cheat and then gain 3 lbs or stall your loss. You can do this!

My birthday was Monday and I knew I needed to wait until after that but want to do this round before we start getting into the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I think a lot of people make a fresh start in January since it's hard not to "fall off the wagon" so to speak, during the holidays. I actually really like doing it before the holidays becuase then I'm much less likely to eat too much during the festivities.

I know there are those that can lose 30 lbs in one round but i think it is rare. I believe doing a longer round planning on 20 lbs then do a short 23 day around for the last 10. With 6 weeks in between it will allow you time to readjust and reshape and give you a break from boredom. Does anyone know where @Leez is?? Missing her great advice
