Here is your January thread, Lovelies.....

This joyful and jubilant group of HCGers have been starting new threads every month for years to prevent people from having to sort through literally thousands of old posts, and making it easier for new people to join in.

We all use different methods of HCG.
We discuss ALL aspects of our individual journeys to a healthier lifestyle.
And MOST importantly, while we can be a little naughty and nutty (always with humor!! ) we are NICE to each other!!

So, whether you are just starting, finishing or are somewhere in between . . .

You ARE Welcome - PLEASE STEP RIGHT IN!!

I just read that whatever you do on New Year's Day is what you will be concerned with the rest of the year. Yikes. I am doing laundry..! well, Here's to a more organized, clean year! LOL. What are you all doing? P

Happy New Year! Keeping busy here. I'm 2 weeks into p3 and trying to figure out when my body won't be as sensitive to inflammation. I'm wanting to try more variety so slow and steady. Had a lot of sickness past 2 weeks so that's complicated it also. But keeping busy with family. Last week before school starts again. Hoping we can make some memories before school starts for them again.

Good morning (or afternoon, evening, etc.), everyone!
I've got 8 VLCD days in the rearview mirror with 10 pounds left to reach goal. I'm bracing myself for the losses to slow. (Not stressing about it, of course.)
Pearly, yikes! I was cooking cabbage on New Year's day...

That is great Kar!! I stalled a lot the last 10lbs but I'm stabilizing really easily and so maybe your stabilization will be suuper smooth if its slow and steady with some stalls. For me I think it helped re-set my weight. But yeah that last 10lbs isn't as easy. I still have like 6ish lbs I would maybe like to loose but pretty happy with how my clothes fit and in a good range. You know we just all nit pick with little things. It's great you aren't stressing. It's good to just get in a good VLCD groove and stick to it.

Kar! You were cooking up something good! That's a good omen for the year.
Jess, Good job on the slow and steady. That's what makes a great P3.

My bac water came early, but I still have cheese, sour cream, butter... bread! Christmas cookies! that I don't want to throw away yet. I plan to mix on Friday and load over the weekend. I might even load 3 days as I have a great FEAR of hunger. I also have a great fear of gaining too much in P3, so I'll have to think on that!

As anyone who has been around a while knows, I am all about my little dogs. I'm a Schnauzer mama. I lost my two white Schnauzers (called white chocolate as they had dark noses and eyes)In the last year. I lost Penny November 2021 and PearlyMae last August. Last march, I adopted a pair of senior "vintage" dogs to keep Pearl company when I started a new job. One was a little white blind poodle I named Poppy who had been somewhere with a family, as she settled in quickly, figured out the dog door and deck by following Pearl's scent and was an easy little dog to care for. The other was a tiny puppy mill Schnauzer mama I named Piper, who was rescued two years ago and bounced arouind from state to state rescue shelters. She had never been out of a barn and was like a little alien from another planet.

Poppy was supposed to be 10, but vet said more likely 13-15. She slowed down until she was mostly sleeping (how could I tell? Dogs sleep 20 hours a day, right?) But the day before Thanksgiving, she passed away in my arms.

Now, all I have left is the Little Alien. She has made much progress, but still clueless about so much. Thank goodness someone taught her about being housebroken somewhere in her journey, but she does not like to leave the patio. Grass? What the heck is THAT? Walking more than 3 feet? Why? I have been working on her going up steps for 9 months and she is still not happy to try on her own. She does not understand toys, she does not understand treats, she does not like to be picked up, and until the past month, if she heard a scary noise (often one nobody else heard) she would jump up and scream like a baby dinosaur making eveyrone else in the room jump three feet in the air. THIS WEEK, she has gone through the dog door from outdoors three times without being pushed --ok, maybe a little nudge-- and has started to slowwwly follow me across the living room to the bedroom at bed time. Last night I heard her barking when I thought she was still eating her dinner and found her IN the bedroom. So we went to bed! LOL.

My take away on all of this is that I see her happy in her little donut bed (she is so small, we got it in the Cat department at PetSmart!) sleeping pretty much full time. I feel she spent the first years of her life in a cage in a barn and dreamed of a soft bed somewhere warm and now has that. HOWEVER, she COULD find beds near the fireplace, in the sunshine in the front entry, etc. She COULD have the freedome of coming and going on her own, in and out to the back yard where she could chase squirrels and birds, if she would learn that dog door and a few steps. etc. etc.

So, she has everything she ever dreamed of, but there is SO MUCH MORE she could have. I think sometimes we all dream little dreams and could dream much bigger dreams if we just dared.

    Just a New Year's thought.

    Love you all!
    Onward!

    Hello, everyone!

Pearly, I loved your Little Alien story. She sounds super cute and the sentiment definitely resonates as applying to we humans. Enjoy loading!

Jess, great that you are stabilizing well!

AFM, it's P3 VLCD day 10 and the honeymoon is over! I'm only down 0.2 from yesterday. Any loss deserves a celebration, though. I went to bed early last night but didn't sleep well after the first 6 hours (hot flashes, weather alerts). It was also just "time" to start creeping down instead of plummeting. Now I can officially say, "Less than 10 pounds to goal!"

Hope everyone has a great day.

Those are really good thoughts. I think too about destiny and calling and just what I need to step into this new year. I keep thinking about being who I truly am and not letting others oppinions hold me back but being authentic and true to who I was made to be.

Hey friends! Hope everyone had a nice holiday/New Year's! Tbh, I'm glad it's over lol
I'm in p3 (about a month in) and hovering at about 242-244 (LDW is 242). I am up to about 246 today due to pending TOM. Will get back on drops in the next few weeks to do round 2. Overall, I'm down 22 lbs in a 30 day round, NOT BAD! Hope everyone is hanging in there!

    Hello, lovelies!

Pearly, I believe you are loading? I hope you’re enjoying it!

I had a small gain today, which I completely expected. Yesterday I moved a lot of wet leaves/pine needles/debris and dug a small trench near a break in a retaining wall to try to prevent rain water from collecting on the wrong side of the wall and flooding part of my back yard. I exerted a lot more energy than usual and despite a long soak in epson salts, I still have some inflammation.

Also, I’m freezing! So despite the scale, I know hcg is still doin’ its thang.

Today I have one of my favorite P2 meals in the crockpot:
    P2 Crockpot recipes?

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
    ~Karen~
